Just back from holiday and was so looking forward to catching up on episode 4, but I think it felt a bit flat after the last few weeks.

There are some good theories but mine is that Simon has been carrying on with both Kate and her Mum, neither being aware of the other. So Suze invests in the development via Whitestone, then she'll go cray cray when she realises her lover has also been shagging her DD and pull the plug.

Can't believe Carly went back to that wankstain. Disappointed in you, Carly. I want to see more of the foxy solicitor and additional comeuppance-getting for Simon.

Suranne Jones was on Nick Grimshaw this morning . She was great , talking about all of the theories and how Gemma wasn't a good doctor! Considering the amount of great roles she has played she's not the tiniest bit luvvy.

I really like Suranne, great actress, very good in Scott and Bailey.

it paints all men as cheaters which they aren't.

i know, i didn't like that line about 'there are only 2 types of men, those that cheat on their wives and those who's wives don't know they cheat on them' or something imbecilic like that...said by the accountant!

There was a survey recently that said between 40 to 70% of men cheat on their partners. It's such a wide variation because they couldn't rely on the participants to be honest in their answers. But even taken at the most conservative estimate it's depressing, nearly half of all men, so although I don't know about it, statistically I must have been cheated on at some point. I can't imagine my do cheating ever, but then again my SIL said that about BIL before finding out about his numerous affairs. They both watch Dr Foster and was talking about it with them, BIL vehemently said Simon was a complete bastard.

Well, the tension is mounting for Wednesday!

On reflection, my theory was a bit far-fetched, but it's been great fun thinking about possible outcomes. I'm still hoping for a major twist that will justify the sense of mystery and strange behaviours of many characters.

I really hope it's more than a well-trodden story of "husband has affair, wife finds out, wife has revenge".

Agree re not wanting a twist. Twists rarely tie up all the loose ends and often leave me feeling a bit wtf about it all and thinking the writer was just showing off rather than showing any sort of consistency with what has gone before.
I want an ending, it doesn't have to be twisty just to be consistent with the rest of the story and to FINISH the story.

Re how many men cheat, I'm afraid I'm very cynical about this. Never thought my ex would cheat but also I have a wide and mixed gender circle and a quick calculation tells me 80% of the men have cheated less than 10% of the women. Just look at the relationships board! Also there's a thread running at the moment 'how did you find out' which has no shortage of replies! I've also done OLD in the past and found most male members were married/in a ltr.

I Hope the dénouement is entertaining but I'm not holding my breath for any massive twists. Sadly what's surprised me is the difference between discussion here and on fb where what has been seen coming on here a mile off has been seen as a 'twist' by my less...er...imaginative fb friends?

Well the men are generally cheating with single women which is not to assign blame to the single women as they're sometimes unaware the guy is married. Many of the married men I know have jobs involving a fair bit of travel. That's only my circle as that's all I have to go on.
