US OPEN tennis thread- it's the last Grand Slam of the year- who will win?

Obviously, my heart wants Nadal to end a shit year, with a massive (if pretty unlikey) win. But hey, the defending champ is Marin Cilic- so who knows what will happen. But he will face Coric in the first round, which might be tricky.

And Murray has Kyrgios. For a one-time only deal, I am firmly team Murray. The arrogant little Aussie needs to end 2015 with his tail between his legs- and come back next year more contrite. Of course, it has the potential to be as messy and sweary as their other encounters- which will trigger Nick's suspended ban. Here's hoping

Was at 02 yesterday.Saw the Fed/Kai match. Think I got lucky to see the best match of the week so far. Three good close sets. Fed had to fight for this one.

Hi all, Was at the o2 Wednesday and yesterday saw some great tennis :)
Stan looked unplayable at times Wednesday night and ds1 got djokovics autograph so he was thrilled :)
Just got home to see Rafa is a set down against ferrer,

vamos indeed . He's through, anyway, but I would have liked him to go through with 3 wins. (Sorry, David, I love you when you are not playing Rafa ).

I know I feel kinda mean, I love ferrer but really want Rafa to be 3/3 going into the semi s.

I'm very sad he lost, but I wasn't surprised.

I was puzzled that BBC2 only seemed to be showing it for an hour!

Am wondering if the Davis cup will be held in Belgium, with all the security problems. I assume they could switch it elsewhere but it's very short notice.

Magi I saw that and thought it was odd. It's not like it's one of those one sided match-ups that could be over in an hour.

I'm team Fed, even though he has won it far too many times before. .And he did have to withdraw from the final last year.

I don't mind, really, either way - but think he has worked hard this year to deserve to end at number 2. Even if we know he is actually a robot .

magi- I also wondered about Belgium. But I'm sure security will be high.

I read today they have delayed travelling until tomorrow.
