Corrie Thread - you know it is bad when the best storyline is about a dog

Time to start a new thread. Hopefully by the time this one has finished there will have been a terrible disaster and half the current cast will have disappeared.

At least Jazz-hands-Andrea is on her way out. I'd be grateful if she would take a coach-load with her.

Why is it David's fault? (apart from having a personality transplant to not be psycho David anymore)

InQuiteAPickle · 27/08/2015 10:06

It's daft! Callum would NEVER show the police the video of Bethany delivering the drugs as he gave them to her to deliver!

Bethany could tell the Platts, they could all go to the police station together. Callum is banged up and they would all live happily ever after...apart from Jason who'll be eating his meals through a straw, until Christmas when he'll be back on solids and the scriptwriters will have forgotten he ever got beat up.

I'm amazed that Todd still has his scar tbh.

InQuiteAPickle · 27/08/2015 10:07

It's David's fault because he told Callum that they were on the way to the police station, therefore Callum was able to find a way to cover his tracks again.

thenightsky · 27/08/2015 20:14

OK... i've missed something.

The guy at the factory is Mr Connor? What relation is he to Carla Connor?

ellenanora5 · 27/08/2015 20:30

He's her dead hubbys cousin thenightsky, I think Confused

InQuiteAPickle · 27/08/2015 20:32

He's Michelle's cousin so he's Carla's Cousin-In-Law - is there such a thing? Carla was married to Michelle's brother Paul so Aidan is her husbands cousin.

Robert is ridiculous, I've never known a chef spend so much time on the restaurant floor rather than in the kitchen!!

Clawdy · 27/08/2015 20:42

Shayne Ward's not bad, really. But his character is boring and unlikeable, and I feel he looks a bit like one or two of the other youngish male actors we've seen in it recently.

ellenanora5 · 27/08/2015 20:56

I thought the same Clawdy, he's not bad at all, but I'll be fed up if this turns into a long running feud with Robert, who, in my opinion should be leaving, he's awful.

eddiemairswife · 27/08/2015 23:13

A bit of a pointless episode I thought. Nothing much happened to warrant a Thursday showing. I'm wondering how they are going to manage Maria's departure. Last time she was on she was so obviously pregnant that she must be leaving soon. There seems to have been no follow-up to the story of Luke's car; as well as the mystery child-minder there must be some enormous hangar where they keep all the lost cars.........Steve's vintage banger, the camper-van, Ken's, Roy's and now Luke's.

Rachel0Greep · 28/08/2015 08:41

Exactly, and as far as I recall, we never laid eyes on the previous chef...
Worse still, Tracy is standing behind him, permanently, in the Bistro. That's so nonsensical. Last night's episode was very poor. Filling up time with Yasmeen and Mary going on about art classes. Yawn.

hildasmuriel · 28/08/2015 12:33

I quite like the fillers. Cathy is growing into a lovely companion for Roy, like Hayley so different to him but I can see them developing a lovely warm, but often at odds, relationship.

Shane Ward will, at least, win awards for the most genuine Manc accent as many range from Burnley to Yorkshire (but nothing ever worse than Stella and Carl).

Listmaker · 28/08/2015 14:14

I also didn't think Shane was too bad but the character is dull. Why is he feuding with Robert already - must have missed that? And agree Robert is awful.

Amazed to see baby Miley putting in an appearance though - really thought we'd never see or hear from her again - til she turned up aged 15 or something!!

Jo4040 · 28/08/2015 15:06

Why are Wardy and Wiggy feuding already? What the HELL has gone on now? Have I seriously missed a crucial bit of a plot that's going to bore entertain me for months years weeks.

They didn't mean about there, getting to characters to hatr each others guts did they
How pleasant Smile

Also...why was Tracy stood behind Wiggy like she had never heard anything like it in her life?! Her face was utter confusion as to why two people would be so confrontational to each other.

I.Just.Do.Not.Get.It.

Jo4040 · 28/08/2015 15:09

Meaa about hate

Jo4040 · 28/08/2015 15:10

Mess *

I'm in too much of a tizz here over this. Obviously.

Rachel0Greep · 28/08/2015 16:52

I like Shayne so far, I think he fits in nicely.

There was a silly minor squabble on the street between Tracy and Carla, just their usual, and the two lads got involved. That's why there was the further squabble in The Bistro.

Strange that we never saw the previous chef, but this guy seems to be permanently outside the kitchen, complete with Tracy peering over his shoulder.

I think putting on extra episodes is a bad idea, they need to focus on quality, not quantity. There is a real feeling of stretching out stuff in order to fill time.

Rachel0Greep · 28/08/2015 16:53

Lovely to see baby Miley, Tim is so sweet with her.

Gingermakesmesick · 28/08/2015 16:53

I am catching up on the camping bits.

It is like watching a school play.

LavenderRain · 28/08/2015 18:16

I also think Shane is doing ok, can't do much worse than Sarah Harding!

I don't know why they are doing the 'Hope' story and culminating it at Xmas, there's enough sadness in the world in RL. They need to do happy stories in my humble opinion

southeastdweller · 28/08/2015 18:33

I agree. Five episodes is enough, though I'd be happy with three. Six is way too much.

I didn't watch last night's episode and for the first time in more than three decades watching Corrie, I'm not interested in catching up with a missed episode Sad.

Squooshed · 28/08/2015 20:22

Craig has lost a lot of weight!

mollie123 · 28/08/2015 20:28

showing Tony being violent was a bit unnecessary at 8 pm although his opponent was a nasty piece of work Shock
why did Booboo/rover not have a collar on in any previous scenes but once he/she becomes Steve's dog - collar and name tax appear Hmm

mollie123 · 28/08/2015 20:29

tag not tax (unless doggies are taxed now Smile)

ellenanora5 · 28/08/2015 21:19

Wardy and Wiggy Grin love it

I noticed that about Rover too mollie123, but when he got back to the pub the collar was gone.
