Corrie Thread - you know it is bad when the best storyline is about a dog

Time to start a new thread. Hopefully by the time this one has finished there will have been a terrible disaster and half the current cast will have disappeared.

At least Jazz-hands-Andrea is on her way out. I'd be grateful if she would take a coach-load with her.

I thought the live episode was great, although I am a bit confused.

On the behind the scenes video, you see Callum (the actor) needing to be able to get out of the manhole set - but why? We didn't see him go in it so why did he need to be able to get out of it if it wasn't used?

Jo4040 · 25/09/2015 10:26

Dimondinthesky...I hav'nt a clue what you mean!? ConfusedGrin

What do we all think will happen tonight?

ProfYaffle · 25/09/2015 11:31

I was expecting Tony to get in on the act too. I wonder whether he'll help with concealing the body, filling the manhole with concrete or something.

AsTimeGoesBy · 25/09/2015 11:36

I enjoyed it too, but did feel there were too many storylines playing out at once, it would have been better to not have Andrea and Lloyd leaving. Better not to have had Andrea back together with Lloyd at all. I would have preferred Roy and Cathy to have stopped short of kissing, but otherwise they were brilliant.

Sarah, Kylie and Callum were amazing. Sally was a bit wooden. |Anna was pretty dire. On the whole though, really well done, way better than I was expecting.

It must be weird for them having already recorded the next few weeks episodes to have had to step back in time so much for this one. I know it's not all filmed in sequence normally, but this is a huge shift.

Pyjamaramadrama · 25/09/2015 12:26

I can't wait for tonights for a change. It was so great seeing the old evil David back.

I really hope Corrie keep up the good work now.

It's so exciting the body in the manhole! Reminds me of Brookie with the body under the patio.

ProfYaffle · 25/09/2015 12:48

Yes, one of the reviews I read called him Callum Jordash! Grin

DiamondoInTheSky · 25/09/2015 12:59

In the video, they explain how they had to construct the garage set, not with the floor and manhole cover at floor level (like a normal room), but with the floor actually at eye height. So then there is space for them to actually build a real manhole (the actual hole!) underneath the floor, and the reason given was that Callum the actor needs to be able to get out of it. There's actually a short clip of him all curled up in the manhole and then coming out of the exit of it (like a trapdoor in the manhole hole).

So I just want to know why they went to the effort of building the garage set at a raised height! Why did Callum the actor bed to be able to get out of it!l? I am so confused!! Grin

I'm sorry, I've had a glass of wine WineBlushGrin

ProfYaffle · 25/09/2015 13:15

Well, at the moment they're intending to get him out 'tomorrow' (ie tonight) and take the body somewhere miles away. Maybe there'll be more coverage of him in the hole tonight?

Jo4040 · 25/09/2015 16:12

But isn't he tied up in a blanket?! So you can't actually see him?! Confused

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 25/09/2015 19:54

Just watching now and Carla is wearing her lovely black and white feather print Warehouse top that I have coveted forever (sold out Sad)

It must have been fireproof or else she grabbed it during the fire at her flat and had it in one of those plastic bags she was carrying around the day after Grin

EachandEveryone · 25/09/2015 20:26

I'm just going to sit down with a glass or two and watch it. Yes, she has lovely clothes. I often think she buys a lot from AllSaints thanks for correcting me.

PennyHasNoSurname · 25/09/2015 20:28

Im assuming when they pull him out he either unwraps accidentally or they choose to unwrap it to keep the blanket. Maybe they have to unwrap him to remove him as it looked like JPS was having a challenge.

I enjoyed Davids lighthearted comedic approach to it all in the first episode tonight.

"How many bricks do you normally need to weigh down a drug dealer, should we Google it" Grin

Prob not quite the quote but you know what I mean

AnneEyhtMeyer · 25/09/2015 21:04

I enjoyed the live episode, most of the cast did well.

I am annoyed as hell today though, watching Andrea and Lloyd still there after the big send off in the last episode.

If he stays on there and rots away, won't the smell come up through the floor?

Mindysgotswag · 25/09/2015 21:08

Haha! Callum's phone went off. Classic!

Grin
AnneEyhtMeyer · 25/09/2015 21:21

Why would they just concrete over the lid of the hole? Wouldn't they fill it first?

OP posts:
Jo4040 · 25/09/2015 22:02

I don't know! It's gona smell realllly bad Shock

southeastdweller · 25/09/2015 22:02

Have to say I really enjoyed tonight's episodes with more Carla and Roy, Steve and Lloyd saying goodbye to each other, and the black humour at the Platt's.

eddiemairswife · 25/09/2015 22:20

Just a thought..... prior to the live episode Max and Lily were taken to Audrey's in case Callum turned up and caused a scene. During the live episode I assumed Gail was at Audrey's helping with the children, who would be staying the night. However, in today's first episode it seemed that they had spent the night back at home.

Pyjamaramadrama · 25/09/2015 22:46

Mindy when did Callum's phone go off? In tonights?

What are they going to do now then? I said exactly the same thing, won't it start to smell.

eddiemairswife · 25/09/2015 22:54

It will give off noxious gases, which will expand and crack the concrete and cause much distress to Gail.

BoGrainger · 25/09/2015 23:03

Agree that it's a bit much after saying goodbye and good riddance to Andrea we then have to go through it all again.

EachandEveryone · 25/09/2015 23:52

Yes I fast forwarded most of tonight's
