Corrie Thread - you know it is bad when the best storyline is about a dog

Time to start a new thread. Hopefully by the time this one has finished there will have been a terrible disaster and half the current cast will have disappeared.

At least Jazz-hands-Andrea is on her way out. I'd be grateful if she would take a coach-load with her.

The whole scenes with Amy finding Simon in the wardrobe were weird, considering Ken and Tracy had just taken her to the bus stop to go to school and then she's in the house waiting for a sandwich.

In fact the timing of the both episodes was weird - Carla seemed to be drinking red wine in the morning, then the meeting with the woman in Underworld was set for 5.00 and Nick's waiting for her in the bistro with a massive dinner. Who goes out for dinner at 5.00? It's like whoever writes the episodes doesn't have any concept of time whatsoever.

Rachel0Greep · 08/09/2015 17:48

Timing is all over the place in Corrie. I never am sure whether it is morning, noon or night, but I think they hope we won't notice anyway.

There was another evening, everyone who works in the pub was away from it, under various 'storylines'. No problem, whatsoever.

eddie, no, honestly, don't torture yourself. He was supposed to be in school, then turned up in the wardrobe...

mollie123 · 08/09/2015 17:50

and why is 'chef' not in the kitchen at the bistro?
and surely the Barlows would have hear Simon and Amy talking
and how did he fit in a very small wardrobe
and how far did Carla drive to the 'cliff' so that Tracy was able to get on a passing friendly motorbike and arrive back at the same time
why does Carla have such wonderful cheekbones - lucky woman
why were there no customer or Audrey in Audrey's
I have lost the will to watch any more.

eddiemairswife · 08/09/2015 18:32

I'm afraid I did watch the first episode again and am really none the wiser. He must have spent the night squashed in there. Perhaps Amy found a potty for him!!

Listmaker · 08/09/2015 20:38

Just catching up...has Anna's top four a load of holes in?!

Yes Carla is gorgeous but her hair is a strange colour.

Thanks for explaining the Simon mystery. I also thought I must have missed something. Funny how every time Leanne and Simon have a spat that she ends up with some visible injury. How likely is that?!

Listmaker · 08/09/2015 20:39

Got not four...re Anna's top :)

Jo4040 · 09/09/2015 06:54

I think Carla looks like a monkey... A beautiful monkey tho...and her hair looks like its turning green...yet it suits her weirdly...

AnneEyhtMeyer · 09/09/2015 07:27

I just read on Digital Spy the producer saying that Ken and Audrey will "be a bit like Ross and Rachel in Friends". So it seems their Friends plagiarism is set to continue.

OP posts:
mellowheart · 09/09/2015 07:36

Jo4040 she does doesn't she, even though she's beautiful I could imagine her in a Planet of the Apes film, in a nice way though.

RainbowCake · 09/09/2015 09:34

Has Aliya forgotten she is pregnant? Have I missed something? I must admit to not being glued watching (usually MNing at the same time)

Also why would Tim have a pic of Miley eating chocolate mousse? Isn't she only like 3 months old?

It did amuse me that Carla wore flats for the first time for the scrap with Tracey.

Lots of little things are bugging me, I really should stop watching as I keep tutting or talking at the Tv. The Friends ripping off is odd.

ProfYaffle · 09/09/2015 10:55

Yy, the Simon thing was really odd. We were all Confused and discussed whether we'd missed an episode.

ShinesLikeGold · 09/09/2015 10:57

Yes, Alya has forgotten she is pregnant.

Also apparently forgotten bursting into tears when wedding planning at the bistro. Nothing more has been said.

desperatehousewife21 · 09/09/2015 11:08

I don't understand the cliff bit that's coming up in the life ep. Is it real?? Why would there suddenly be a cliff at the end of the street??

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 09/09/2015 11:41

Carla's hair colour is just like mine. It's only that way from too many dye jobs which means the only colour that takes is a very dark brown which then fades to that weird ginger/mid brown colour.

eddiemairswife · 09/09/2015 11:43

I'd completely forgotten about Aliya's pregnancy and the wedding. Let's hope the scriptwriters have forgotten the wedding too. I can't bear the prospect of Anna acting all emotional and soppy, and that gormless Gary's involvement.

squoosh · 09/09/2015 11:43

I can't believe Bad Actor who plays Ken is 83. You would never have guessed he and Deirdre had a 22 year age gap!

Lj8893 · 09/09/2015 11:59

I quite like Amy, she makes me laugh.
I also have eyebrow envy of Carla, and sometimes think she's gorgeous but other times think she's really hard looking.
Simon needs a good slap around the face which is awful to say but true!

And Tracey's facial expressions when Carla was giving her "heads or tails" speech were bloody awful!

Jo4040 · 09/09/2015 12:14

Yh its was so out of Tracy's character.

WTF was all that about with Tracy hitching a ride? What the bloody hell....

If you go on Corrie's website, it explains what that cliff represents...and it also shoes a behind the set making of it.
It's got the actor that plays Callum buzzing about running around chasing a camera Hmm

insanityscatching · 09/09/2015 12:44

Glad I'm not the only one who was confused by Simon appearing in a wardrobe, thought I'd missed an episode. Bored by Carla's gambling, can't be bothered with the factory storyline, hate Fiz/Tyrone/Hope storyline, feel nothing for the Platts (although Gail makes me laugh occasionally) particularly Sarah and Bethany (who looks older than her mother to me). The cab office has gone stale used to love Steve and Eileen spats and Steve and Lloyd's friendship. It all feels disjointed nowadays.
Only worth watching for Tim and Sally and Roy and Cathy and Leanne and Nick these days. Anyone else think that Simon could be Robert's son as they look alike to me anyway?

Lj8893 · 09/09/2015 13:23

Not only was it so out of Tracey's character. If someone was telling you they were planning on jumping off a cliff and you didn't want them to, you wouldn't stand there making sympathetic faces. Was so cringeworthy!

SerafinaScoresby · 09/09/2015 14:40

Can't bear Simon, he's an awful character played by an awful actor.. That said, the storyline is really good and I did feel for Leanne when she was trying to cope alone and didn't know what to do..

SymphonyofShadows · 09/09/2015 15:39

I don't like Simon or Amy. They both need new heads.

theliverpoolone · 09/09/2015 17:05

Agree about the 'missing episode'. I was watching on iPlayer and genuinely thought I was mistakenly watching the 8.30 episode instead of the 7.30 one...Confused

eddiemairswife · 09/09/2015 17:11

Unpleasant though Simon is, he has had a difficult life with parent figures who variously die, drink to excess and nearly burn him to death, get actually burnt to death, disappear to Portsmouth and (worst of all) won't get him a decent mobile phone. In real life wouldn't the school or Ken have suggested some outside intervention by way of counselling etc.?

ellenanora5 · 09/09/2015 20:19

I have thought that aswell eddie, he has has been through an awful lot for a young kid, he should be in counselling.

Robert has been telling Tracey to confess for ages, so why did he just stand like a plank when she was denying everything, I really can't stand him, I hope he's not in it for long
