Glad to hear your DD got a tan in Cornwall orph, the last couple of days down there were gorgeous, even I managed to get a bit colour myself (well I'm less blue and some of my freckles have joined up)

Wow, richtea, seeing DA. I'd love to meet him, he's one of my heroes.

I did see Monty's bit on tomatoes ilove. I need to chop off the flowers now and maybe strip some more leaves. The yellow cherry tomatoes have started to ripen, but if the others don't I'll be making green tomato chutney (MrP likes the stuff, I can't stand it)

It's very chilly back home, MrP and I are looking sexy, lounging in our slankets.

For me, I had watched the one-off with hubby and we both really enjoyed it. So for me it was more an interest in what Molly was doing than anything else. It was only about half way through the 1st episode I thought -hang on, that captain is rather fine.
It must be slightly annoying to LT that what was essentially a story about her character rather quickly became about CJ and Molly rather than her. I do wonder what she makes of all the CJ/BA adoration that goes on.

Ah, I didn't realise your toms hadn't ripened, sorry. I think there's an old wive's tale about putting the unripe ones in a brown paper bag with a banana and the chemicals in the banana skin ripens the tomatoes. It might be worth a go? Not tried it myself though so no idea if it works or not.

I had to laugh at Monty's grapes being eaten by wasps. Mine are doing very well indeed. I may even send him a photo of them. I've nibbled on a few of them and they're ok but need to ripen a bit more. They're not quite sweet enough yet.

Paintedcherryblossoms · 30/08/2015 23:23

I had watched the first program and loved it so was keen to see the second one...I ended up watching it all in one go on I player whilst in a hotel on a business trip to Newport of all places and making myself really late in the morning as I had been up half the night, fell asleep and then had to watch episode 5 in the morning to see what happened. I fell instantly in love with CJ when he said "it was also fxxckixx awesome in episode 1" and then melted when he looked back and smiled as she went back to the lads in the tent and they sang she's one of the lads.....I was gone after that moment.
Night night xxxx

MaddieMoo82 · 30/08/2015 23:27

Glad you got your rail ticket orphan maybe you could have a little trip to bath?
Was reading some reviews for lady chatterlys lover and this made laugh....

Yet when Jed Mercurio, writer-director of the new drama, insists on making the disabled Clifford Chatterley a tragically complex figure and rightly points to the plight of a generation “completely destroyed by the war”, some lazy pundits wonder where all the obligatory bonking and fruity dialogue has gone. Bert Lawrence might have cursed into his beard. He would not have been at all surprised.

I do hope there will be plenty of fruitiness or I will be disappointed Grin

Dizzydots · 30/08/2015 23:28

For a moment there I thought you were nibbling on Monty's grapes ilove . Pleased you're keeping your nibbling to home territory Grin

icemistOBE · 30/08/2015 23:28

ice did you know if there was a scene where CJ wears the night goggles thing over his face in episode 4 when they go on the op overnight? I just imagine he would really suit that look.

icemistOBE · 30/08/2015 23:55

He doesn't wear it.

Cheers ice.

Ilovelblue · 31/08/2015 07:53

Certainly wouldn't nibble anything of Monty's Dizzy. I don't like him. The persona he puts on for TV is very different when the cameras stop rolling.

Gorgeous photos ice.

Morning everyone

Raining here too. Day for getting jobs done in the house I think. Confused

Wycombe123 · 31/08/2015 09:24

Rather early to be thinking about porn star martinis I know but count me in nickel for local tasting - a natural progression from cappuccinos!

Onlygirljen · 31/08/2015 09:33

Morning all. Potty training is officially bringing me to my knees, you would never have thought I'd managed to do it years ago with eldest Confused

Anybody know the best way to get piss stains out of the couch? (You can tell how my morning is going..)

Onlygirljen · 31/08/2015 09:34

wycombe I'd love a pornstar martini right about now! not that I could sit on my piss stained couch to drink it

Nickel45 · 31/08/2015 09:49

jen, hope your day gets better xx no idea how to get stains out .... I wouldn't let mine on the settee!! Mean mummy!

wycombe .... Definitely!

Raining here and it's our annual country fair, I know some of the organisers, so feel I should go, but .... It's raining!! Bribing the kids with ice cream and the park probably isn't going to work, and DH has just told me he pulled a muscle in his back doing the vaccuuming (!) so that probably means he doesn't want to go either! Grrrr .. Blimmin' bank holiday weather :(

Ilovelblue · 31/08/2015 10:07

Fine here at the moment but has been raining hard. I have a choice between cleaning up, doing some sewing or dealing with the glut of tomatoes and sorting out the plums we picked on Saturday. Think the cooking wins - just.

How did you respond to your DH Nickel????

orphan · 31/08/2015 10:07

Rain here.Sad Am instigating Enforced Family Enjoyment and going to cinema to see The Man From Uncle. I know where my enjoyment will come from...

Ilovelblue · 31/08/2015 10:08

BK Are you back home now? How did CJ cope with the locks?

Dizzydots · 31/08/2015 10:37

Thank you painted, such a quick update.
That's so funny nick, what are they like!
DD expected home from fstival any minute - bathroom and washing machine cleared and ready!! 5 days of Reading grim :/

MaddieMoo82 · 31/08/2015 10:47

Stopped raining here so trying to decide what to do.... DP is no help and says whatever I want to do.... Standard answer. nickel sounds like something my DP would say if he actually did the vaccuming

jen potty training stories make he nervous and wondering if I can keep DS in nappies forever, but then after the 5am exploding one I'm not sure what's worse.
orphan hoping to see the man from uncle this week so could you let us know if it's any good? Guy Richie films as usually fab... Wink

pixieg1rl · 31/08/2015 11:17

Is it too late to suggest a dark wipe clean sofa jen? That was my strategy of choice. And also waiting until he was nearly 3.5.

Back home and I don't think the washing machine or tumble dryer has been off yet. Trying to summon he energy to go to the supermarket and get organised for next week. So far I've labelled 2 jumpers and a book bag.

Rhubarb01 · 31/08/2015 11:41

Jen have you got a steam cleaner? That might lift some of the stain out and also sanitise at the same time. I've used one on my sofa many times and it's pretty good at getting out marks. Can't promise though. I think when mine had such accidents I was able to take the covers off and wash them. It's a bit of struggle to get them back on again but it seemed to work. Sorry if that's not much help.

I'd quite like to see 'The Man from Uncle' orphan except that my BIL is the biggest Man from Uncle fan alive - the original 60's series - they even have weekend conventions which he attends to discuss it with like minded people. I haven't asked him if he's seen it partly because it's bound to result in a very long detailed monologue about what's wrong with this version. I expect I would enjoy the film though.

One more quick enquiry are FF traffic stats still not working for everyone or is it only me?

Rhubarb01 · 31/08/2015 11:50

Just thought about that last comment re BIL - I guess I should say nothing as I can hardly claim to be innocent when it comes to a TV obsession. Its just his has been going on for years - I mean at least the last twenty years or more. Do you think we'll last that long?
