It was spying CJ in the trailers that made me watch the series. But obvs I had to pretend to my family that it was just the drama that appealed. I remember secretly watching the episodes again on catch up to get my fix, but eventually had to come clean about my obsession.

Ilovelblue · 30/08/2015 11:07

Isn't it odd orphan how we reacted to those trailers? My first thoughts were "Oh no, a typical Forces officer male chauvinist pig". Guess I'd had too much exposure in the past to RAF and ex-RAF officers. Still, we did all end up singing from the same hymn sheet in the end as it were.

About to start pruning my apple tree so will be spending the rest of the morning up a ladder.....

KellyHb · 30/08/2015 11:19

Morning all.

I've had the best start to the morning where my favourite actress favourited a tweet I sent her earlier on after watching her in a brilliant drama she was a co-star in last night. Star No it wasn't LT even though she too is a fab actress.

Love that trailer ice. It makes my heart race after all this time. Seeing CJ look sideways at LT is a bit I loved from first seeing the advert.

Just watched my neighbours coming back from an abroad holiday they've been on. They look nicely tanned and rested - bastards.

orphan · 30/08/2015 11:29

Ah you see ilove I'm more shallow than you and simply saw a gorgeous chiselled jawline and thought 'Hmm, yes please.' Smile

orphan · 30/08/2015 11:41

Oh and by the way thanks for your tip maddiemoo cos I've got a two person travelcard now so dp and I are planning lots of days out or as our ds says "middle aged bumbling around."

KellyHb · 30/08/2015 11:44

Pretty much ditto there orph. Your first thought of CJ had me giggling ilove

I'm next excited for Lady Chatterley's lover on next Sunday. I was hoping I would be seeing James Norton nakedness but I think it may be Richard Madden's as the lover. Don't mind either way really. Something to watch and I'll pretend its CJ and Molly. Obsessed-moi? Confused

orphan · 30/08/2015 12:08

Where's woof? Sometimes though she does spend long periods under cover - literally. She has a long running series as part of her dodgy dvd enterprise called Under the Covers With... It was quite successful until Under The Covers With David Mellor which for some unfathomable reason didn't sell in Amsterdam at quite the level as anticipated. Sad

icemistOBE · 30/08/2015 13:04

So for our watch-A-long, we've now got a Twitter account for those on Twitter. All very exciting.
We're going to do a countdown each Sunday night. So we can all join in on here or FB or Twitter (or all 3 like me)

Hello lovely ladies back from super long summer break abroad. Had decent wifi so have been silently looking in on here and FB etc from time to time, looking forward to the watch along, some yummy pics have surfaced of the man himself and since landing on Friday have been killing the boredom of sewing name tapes (my baby boy is going to grammar school next week) by breaking off and getting my arse into gear with FF writing again. Have had some lovely lazy days enjoying the top notch stories from the other writers though. It's nice to be back amongst the banter again ....hope you are all having a lovely long weekend ???? x

Dizzydots · 30/08/2015 13:36

Hello painted waves great update, more please ...
Sounds delicious orph and the perfect accompaniment for maba. DH and I have become pros at bumbling around (love that) since our last chick departed for uni last sept. Nw looking forward to enhancing the bumble with a bit of porn Star

Paintedcherryblossoms · 30/08/2015 13:46

Hello dizzy waving back ..thanks and onto it now I have some mind space back Smile

Paintedcherryblossoms · 30/08/2015 13:48

Thanks to you too nickel for the smiles and warm welcome back x

orphan · 30/08/2015 14:06

Hello painted. Did CJ on a stick accompany you on your hols?

Yes dizzy, ds loathes our 'maba'. He just doesn't get it. He made me laugh the other day: dp and I were having a (I thought ) perfectly normal sprightly conversation, when ds said "Oh my god I can tell you're both getting old - you have to pause to process information before you reply!"

Paintedcherryblossoms · 30/08/2015 14:19

Hello orphan sadly not he met his maker in the early summer when he was thrown out with the recycling by accident as the carrier bag used to wrap him was cruelly discarded with the household rubbish.

orphan · 30/08/2015 14:41

RIP CJ on a stick. Even the best lamination couldn't save him from his fate.

Dizzydots · 30/08/2015 14:41

Just as we have forgotten how to get their tala orph (teen age loafing about). At least we do process information whereas they seem not to take it in at all! Great newspainted, how better to while away a wet Sunday afternoon?

Paintedcherryblossoms · 30/08/2015 15:06

I have the memories of our travels together though orphan the bin men can't take those Smile

Ilovelblue · 30/08/2015 15:16

Maddie I had to smile about your comment on Range Rovers (no, I don't have one, don't worry about that). I work very close to the training ground for a football team in the championship league (I think that's the one, next one down from the Premier League. I'm useless on football). All the players turn up in the usual cars you would expect: BMWs, Mercs, Audis and a variety of 4x4s but they're all young lads with far too much money. I haven't seen one who really "suits" his car.

Painted great update and lovely having you back on here! Shame poor little CJ on a stick met his demise.

Having a rest. Spent nearly three hours up and down the ladders pruning my apple tree and the camellia. It's cheaper than going to a gym, that's for sure. It's not particularly sunny up here at the moment but it's warm and humid. I'm kn.........d.

Paintedcherryblossoms · 30/08/2015 15:22

Thanks ilove it's good to be back ! Writing the next instalment now ..have got the bug back Smile I am sure it may slow down again when school starts as I will have a huge task keeping DS organised for big school. Can't decide whether to stand back and let him learn the hard way though...?

pixieg1rl · 30/08/2015 16:47

I need ilove as a neighbour - my tomatoes are collapsing under the weight of all the fruit and they're making their way out of the very dry grow bag. Emergency soak and propped them up with a patio chair for now.

KellyHb · 30/08/2015 16:56

Welcome back painted. Love your New York story and glad you've got your writing bug back. Star

Had an unexpected shopping trip with my Mam today. Had to go to Next to pick up boys coats I ordered and she said she wanted to come with me. I was so proud of her since its only been a couple of weeks since her treatment finished. She's slower at walking and still weak but she had a good browse around anyway. It felt like old times. Well done Mum. (not that she goes on MN) Star

orphan · 30/08/2015 17:14

So glad your mum felt fit enough to go on a shopping trip kelly. That's a surefire indication she's heading in the right direction! Congrats to her! Star

Dd back from Cornwall. Tired but very tanned so weather can't have been that bad. She's now disappeared into her room no doubt to remedy the wifi cold turkey she was forced to undergo for a week.

moojangles · 30/08/2015 17:19

Well done to your Mum kelly

icemistOBE · 30/08/2015 18:02
