I do feel sorry for these two little boys. Following their parents' divorce, their father has moved in with his new girlfriend - classic rebound stuff I guess. Not sure how you get over stuff like that so quickly????? (He didn't know her beforehand).

Rhubarb I was in Laura Ashley for a special event they had on Thursday to launch their new autumn range and almost without exception, the dresses were things I could remember my Mum wearing in the 60s. I had bought some photo frames so it's not as if they had to persuade me to buy anything but one of the assistants asked my opinion on the new range of clothes and seemed a bit surprised at my response. Why would I want to wear something that I could remember from 45+ years ago?

About OG: it was probably round about this time last year that the BBC started showing the trailers of the series. I remember thinking "That'll pass an hour on Sunday night!" An hour? Did I ever expect to be on MN a year further down the line?

Kelly I agree that Pizza Express is nice. My kids' primary school does a regular trip with Year 5 each year to our local Pizza Express where they are all taught how to make Pizzas, do their own toppings and get to eat the finished product before they go home. Needless to say it is one of the most popular trips from the kids point of view and as a helper you get Pizza as well!

P.S. about the expensive clothes shops I hasten to add that I was not able to do a Julia Roberts when snooty shop assistants said "it's very expensive!" Firstly they weren't snooty, secondly I had DD with me who constantly told me how expensive everything was and thirdly the only option I had was to slink away tutting about how awful the clothes were rather than return triumphantly declaring "Big mistake!" the next day. Kelly if you still haven't seen it yet, you really must.

No wonder I'm kn.....d. After the boys went home, my neighbour and I went to pick the plums from the house of a man I used to work with. He hasn't a clue about gardening/fruit growing at all and the plums just go to waste unless we take them. I was up and down ladders to pick the fruit on four trees and as he wasn't around, I did some pruning as well with my loppers. We have 20 lbs of plums between us and to be honest, I don't have the room in my freezer for all of my share. I think I might make some chutney tomorrow to use up a few pounds of them!

Thanks ilove. Sounds interesting about the card info. I'll look into it. I was laughing to myself when I'd mentioned earlier about a free meal voucher. I think it made us sound desperate for free food. Grin Just these days you don't often get a goodwill gesture like that for a restaurant's mixup and I thought may as well take them up on it.

I wouldn't worry about the meal voucher. Go for it when you can! My gardening weekend in Cobham in Surrey was all done on the cheap: we had a Tastecard which we used for three nights and the hotel was done on Tesco vouchers.

Oh rich lucky you. Been to the Albert Hall a couple of times and once for last night of the proms (which was amazing) and loved it, it's such a special venue, you can't help but enjoy the occasion even if the music isn't to taste :) Have a lovely time.

Oh sounds like everyone is having a nice evening. Baby has woken every 45 mins since I put him down earlier Confused. Loving all the pizza action.... Especially pizza express, there food is lovely and very reasonably priced.
whajebs new story was so fab.... Read it 3/4 times already. And still can't look at a Range Rover without having naughty thoughts about the drivers seat thanks jen Blush unfortunately most of the drivers seen to be >75.....

I saw the Vulcan the other week when it flew over Sunderland and thought what a beautiful aircraft it is. I thought then I probably would never see it again.

Sorry Maddie for the driver seat imagery, I'd agree that the average Range Rover driver doesn't merit such fantasies (sorry to any owners of RR's). If only they all looked like CJ!

Re school labelling - I think I have label OCD. My eldest is terrible for losing things, so literally everything that goes to school has a name on it - I have iron on labels that I put on all clothes (with straighteners instead of iron, works a treat) and stick on waterproof labels for everything else. I really should be laughed at, I'm not usually this remotely organised with anything else.

orph I'm a big fan of the pornstar btw, they do them in a couple of places up here too Smile

i hope it's crap for your sake then ice but have to say when I flew to the states in June the choice was fantastic. Loads of films I'd missed at the cinema plus the whole series of Poldark - I did wonder why no OG though Shock

Pornstar has vanilla vodka, passion fruit purée and a shot of prosecco on the side. It's dangerously moreish. I'm working my way down the cocktail menus of both of the Hoxton bars but keep getting distracted by the Pornstar and the utterly delicious barmen.
