You sure it wasn't about us rhu?!
whaj fab one shot. Don't know why you think you can't write QS. Absolutely Brilliant :)

KellyHb · 29/08/2015 00:00

Having family time together sounds really good rhu. I don't really have a whole lot of time to play with the kids as I'm always rushing around doing something else for the kids or washing etc. I think I'm the one in the family always connected to some sort of technology Blush

DH says when I'm online he says it's like looking at mission control at Nasa. Smile

Ilovelblue · 29/08/2015 06:49

Morning all.

Rhubarb I saw that programme last week. I was on here actually and couldn't be bothered turning it off. It was dire. Hardly a comedy in my view.

Talking of playing, I am entertaining my friend's 6 yo today. He's the one whose parents have just split up.

Ilovelblue · 29/08/2015 06:55

Ooops posted too soon! It will either be baking and a trip to the park or if he wants, we can have a train ride. He's only been on a train once before and that was with me about 18 months ago. He was quite cute. I'll have to pay for him this time though.

Richtea19 · 29/08/2015 08:18

I really enjoyed A Twist of Fate and the downloaded another one, I can't remember what it was called but it was a bit "Brokeback Moutain Esq" not what I expected!

Does anyone ever use the MumsNet App on their iPhone? Since we had all the security issues I can use the app. Its really annoying as I do like to check in when I'm out!!

I'm off to Dunsfold Airshow today with DS, with a hangover.... To much wine last night and a blister on the sole of my foot from dancing. I'll never learn!

icemistOBE · 29/08/2015 08:26

Morning. Off to get last few things for school today.

That description could easily be this group Grin

I don't use the app, I use the mobile version of the full site.
But today it won't let me attach photos

Lovely treat whajeb , if only all our fantasies were born to be carried out Grin

pixieg1rl · 29/08/2015 09:02

They've taken down the app Richtea as it wasn't secure. They're developing a new one (I'm testing it and it's much better than the old one) but it hasn't been released yet. The mobile version of the site is good and does work on 3G. The new app is only going to be for iPhone at first.

Dizzydots · 29/08/2015 09:04

That first one .....no words. Ahhh indeed.

KellyHb · 29/08/2015 10:02

Morning all.

Sounds like you had a good night, Rich. Glad you enjoyed Twist of Fate too.
I loved the main man in it.

DD was supposed to go out with his work into town last night but it was cancelled. Think it was re-arranged for next week so I can be in charge of tv remote. Smile

Off to Metrocentre today as we've got a free meal voucher from Pizza Hut as last time we went, they found out they didn't have any gluten free Pizza for DD after we'd ordered it. Plus I might have a look at winter coats for the kids. Seems a bit early in the year but I'm trying to be organised. Confused

Lovely pics ice.

orphan · 29/08/2015 10:07

Morning. Feeling a bit fragile myself richtea. Had a fab walk along Regent's Canal yesterday, then ruined the health vibe by following it up with cocktails. I recommend the House Summer Cup at Hoxton Hotel, Holborn. It's very moreish! The barmen are gorgeous as well...Wink

Hmm feeling I'm missing out on this Demelza QS. I remember it being recommended previously but didn't buy as I'm conscious my kindle was in danger of becoming pure QS! But now I'm thinking why fight it?!

Onlygirljen · 29/08/2015 10:14

orph I've stayed at the hoxton shoreditch last couple of times I've been down for work, and the barmen are top notch Smile. I find they have to be when they're charging 9.50 for a g&t! Shock

orphan · 29/08/2015 11:00

onlygirl Hoxton Shoreditch is my usual choice. We've been going there for years and it's been interesting seeing how it's evolved.Yep, I started with a g&t then switched to cocktail menu cos at least you're getting more alcohol and effort from the barmen! I prefer the rooms at the Holborn branch now though - cool wallpaper.

Actually, the shoreditch branch is home of my oft mentioned fave cocktail - the Pornstar martini. Watching a handsome young barman make one, then drinking one is a very pleasant way for a cougar to spend the evening. Grin

Rhubarb01 · 29/08/2015 18:05

Afternoon/Evening - busy day out shopping with DD and some of her friends. My feet are killing me and I spent too much as usual. We wandered around some very expensive shops looking at some hideous clothes that reminded me of things elderly people wore when I was a kid. It's amazing how memories of what your Grandma wore put you off things you see today and shows how fashion just goes round and round. There seem to be so many what I would call crimplene type clothes out there and some strange things that just look so old-fashioned to me. Needless to say the clothes were very expensive and my elder DD thought it was fun to play guess the price tag with me. In the end I quoted the old adage that if you have to ask the price you can't afford it! I've also been in Pizza Hut today as well Kelly what exciting lives we lead (no vouchers here though) but decided to be good and have the virtuous veggie Pizza at only 500 calories, unfortunately, this was spoiled by DD saying she couldn't eat all her pizza and giving me a slice!!

Tomorrow I really must do all the school prep stuff - I got the uniform but it needs labelling. Unlike always I'm afraid if it can't be scribbled on the label in biro it doesn't get labelled at all!

Just one last thing for a brief moment looking at the first photo ice posted of old sternface I thought he has a long strand of hair like a comb-over flapping in the wind behind him until I realised it was a flag. I also wish you'd put back those photos you posted months ago which enabled me to hover my mouse backwards and forwards making him nod his head and open his mouth. I had so much fun with that!

moojangles · 29/08/2015 19:13

School prep avoidance mode in full throttle here!

icemistOBE · 29/08/2015 19:25

I probably have it somewhere Smile

KellyHb · 29/08/2015 20:06

Evening all.

Sounds like you had a nice day rhu. But we didn't end up going to Pizza Hut as they still had no Gluten free Pizza so we tried Pizza Express which was absolutely lovely. I'd never been there for years, and its sounds quite fast foody but its all decorated very stylishly inside and I would say looks quite posh. The menu I thought had a wide variety and I opted for the pasta which was delicious.

DH has gone for a walk to the pub by himself which he's never done before. He's always just had a drink in the house or in town with a couple of mates. I let him go as he doesn't really get out much without the kids. He said he'd be an hour. We'll see what time he rolls in.

Even watching OG now, I still see little things that I've missed even though I've seen it lots of times. Its funny to think there was a time when we'd never heard of OG. Confused

moojangles · 29/08/2015 20:37

Was there life before OG?

KellyHb · 29/08/2015 20:53

Maybe not. A world where we'd never heard of CJ?? Shock

Richtea19 · 29/08/2015 20:54

We are back from Wings and Wheels air show, lots of Soliders to spot but I wasn't as bold as Kelly to get my photo taken with any!!! Also with DS and he would of been mad!

Lovely day, although my blister from last night didn't favour well in my trainers. Throbbing feet!

We saw the Vulcan fly which was amazing, both DS and I felt very emotional as it flew off, knowing we would probably never see it again.

I wish we could of had Pizza Express for lunch, the whole show is full of food stands such as burgers, fish and chips donuts and the like, nothing healthy at all.

Feel knackered and we are are off to London tomorrow to the Albert Hall to the Proms! Never been before, but thought we would give it a go! Not sure my feet will cope!

Ilovelblue · 29/08/2015 21:32

Evening all.

Sitting down with much needed wine and Tunnocks teacakes. Not only have I had my friend's little boy most of the day but his younger brother (3 yo) asked if he could come along too. He's never wanted to stay before. We made cakes, went to the park, had ice creams, visited the army tank, had lunch then back to the park. I am completely kn........d. They get on very well though - it's quite sweet to watch.

Kelly I have a free trial Tastecard at the moment and you get reduced meals at a number of places. It may be worth investigating (not sure how it works at weekends - a lot of places have the best offers during the week).

pixieg1rl · 29/08/2015 21:38

Night at BIL & SIL's before long drive home tomorrow. Thank goodness they have decent wifi, though MrP dragged me off the iPad to make conversation with them (I'd been locked out of my google docs all week which is where I do my writing)

Need to get into some healthy eating and drinking habits now the holidays are over. Lots of fish and chips washed down with scrumpy this week, in my defence I've been walking miles up and down hills all week so I don't feel like a complete lard arse.
