So sorry to hear your sad news Richtea. Must be very mixed emotions at a time like this. Even though there's relief for you all, there's also great sadness at somebody passing. I do feel for you.

Richtea19 · 23/08/2015 20:54

Thank you all for your kind words. We've been at my neices 18th today which was lovely, it took our minds off everything.

Nothing on TV tonight, so I'm watching First Light which I recorded. Bit contraversial but really not sure about BA in his youth. His skinny and got a "pokey" nose! I much prefer CJ and BA a bit older. Good film though!

I've been in Manchester today for afternoon tea with friends at Cloud 23, combined with a little shopping. It was scorching hot in the morning and very humid in the afternoon then it threw it down as we were leaving to go back to the car park (and all the way home up the motorway too).

Managed to leave my bank card in House of Fraser as well.... fortunately, as I found a pair of shoes I liked in M&S's sale, I realised I didn't have it when I was wanting to pay and mentally retraced my steps. Rushed back to House of Fraser and the assistant apologised to me - we were chatting and it totally slipped her mind to tell me to take my card out of the machine. Also managed to upset a glass of water on the table just as it had been set for our tea. Felt really clumsy.

Onlygirljen · 23/08/2015 21:25

Lucky you ilove, Cloud 23 is really nice. Had drinks there last time I was in Manchester.

Watching les miserables for the umpteenth time, doubt I'll last till the end though. Was up with littlest at 5am, seriously need bed soon.

icemistOBE · 23/08/2015 21:30

Cloud 23 is lovely. Been once for cocktails on a work night out.

Nothing again on the TV to watch! Still can't get the 'must watch/not miss an episode' for anything. Tried the Agatha Christie series but I couldn't take to David Walliams at all

Hope there's some good stuff coming up

One of my friends is expecting a baby quite soon so I've said that next time we do afternoon tea, I will do it at home so that she can bring the baby along as well. I enjoy cooking but can't really do tiny, dainty stuff. I'm fine with cakes and scones but if they're expecting tiny quiches etc, I think I may have to pay a visit to Waitrose!

Ilovelblue · 23/08/2015 22:25

ice I heard them advertising a new version of Lady Chatterley's Lover after the Agatha Christie thing. QS do we think? Can't possibly be as good as Jen's latest smut!

Just watched on catchup the Jane Seymour Who Do you Think you are. Had to rewind and pause the title sequence in order to gawp in horror at Gareth Malone. What has he done to himself??? He looked like League of Gentlemen's version of an old woman. Straight out of Royston Vasey. But I remember even RPJ looked godawful in the title sequence of the last series. He had some hideous pashmina or might even have been a chiffon scarf flung round his neck. A passion killer most certainly.

Richtea19 · 24/08/2015 07:20

I saw that last week, and i also thought Jane Seymore uses good face cream!!!!! Defying the ageing process... But like Gareth Malone!!

Rainy day today, but warm, hate that as I never know what to wear.

Have a good day :)

Richtea19 · 24/08/2015 07:21

That was bit like GM not but ! Predictive text, grrrr

Ilovelblue · 24/08/2015 07:34

Rainibg here too though the BBC internet forecast tells me it's sunny!

Back to work today. Can't wait (not).

Ilovelblue · 24/08/2015 07:35

Raining!

icemistOBE · 24/08/2015 09:07

Oh yes I read about Lady C. Hope it's good. And there's the last series of Downton.

Kian is planning our trip to London (next summer) he wants to go on a London Bus, see London Palace and see a really high building, "London has lots of high buildings" I've already mentioned going to s coffee shop Wink hope he'll take a decent photo of me outside it Grin

Oh, I remember the RPJ WDYTYA orphan. He was swanning around India in search of his ancestors Roger of the Raj looking like an extra from Laurence of Arabia.

LolaKent14 · 24/08/2015 09:13

Just back from a weekend away where I performed a reanactment of Wannabe by the Spice Girls one night on friends balcony. Unfortunately I then did the one prosecco, two prosecco, three prosecco, floor finale rolling down several steps to end up in a heap by the river. Worthy of an Oscar a friend said it was that dramatic!
As if that wasn't bad enough with all my friends calling me Rolly the rest of weekend and singing Tina Turner Rolling song the restaurant across the river greeted me with arms in the air the next night.
Thank god I don't live there I'd have to move!

orphan · 24/08/2015 09:18

richtea I like Gareth as well but please tell me you didn't like that pic. It actually frightened me.

Now that sounds like a good weekend lola. You just needed CJ there swinging his mic.

icemist I did a full on tourist weekend in London once with my kids. We got tickets for one of the hop on hop off buses with commentary. It was brill and v entertaining although I have to admit scepticism as to some of the things we were told. It included a cruise down to Greenwich and various guided walks as well.

Just found it a much better way to get around rather than being on the tube and seeing nothing. And we did hop on and off wherever we wanted to stop for longer nespresso shop for example

orphan · 24/08/2015 09:29

Obviously at that time I was innocent as to the delights of CJ and coffee capsules so didn't hop off there, but just suggesting tourist possibilities for you!!

icemistOBE · 24/08/2015 10:07

Perfect Orph he'd be excited to do that. Planning to stay for 1 night. But get 2 days to look around
