Happy hols to all of you travelling off tomorrow!

The canal trip sets off on Sunday so have started screaming at DH and DS about packing. Always manage to take too much, it is after all basically a posh caravan on water how many clothes can one need!! Just glad CJ travels light with just a Bergen!!

nickel it is at times like these that you realise how easy Cub Camp is!! pixies comment about children or luggage had me cheering - well said!!

Ilovelblue · 21/08/2015 22:41

BK I will get CJ all packed and on his way tomorrow afternoon so he can help you. He was in a very good mood after meeting up with his pals and enjoyed the attention created by the army tank's appearance.

Nickel I hope you're going to tell Mr N about pixie's comments. She's spot on!

KellyHb · 21/08/2015 23:11

Just been spending the last couple of hours or so sorting pictures on the computer to go on canvasses on our living and dining room walls. Going to pop to Jessops tomorrow. We decorated last year and hadn't had a chance to finish putting pictures up!

pix hope you get away okay in the morning and have a fantastic holiday! Do you think you'll really get away at 5 in the morning?

icemistOBE · 22/08/2015 06:57

Morning

Just up would have been nice to have a longer sleep, will try and get a nap later.

Morning all. Absolutely threw it down here in the night. Everywhere is wet and soggy.

We were really lucky at Harlow Carr yesterday as it was fine and warm all day, though the sun only came out towards the end. About ten miles from home, the heavens opened and it then rained off and on most of the evening.

BK and pixie and anyone else who is off on holiday this weekend, have a great time! I'm back at work on Monday. It's gone far too quickly.

BK CJ will be with you late afternoon. I'm sending him on his way later this morning. He travels light as you know (unlike me, as he has commented several times).

I see we are trending on this thread at the moment, just below "I'm staying in the worst hotel ever".

As we didn't get to bed until gone midnight we set off a bit later. Currently enjoying the sights of the M25,

MrP has promised me a wee at Reading (a friend helpfully pointed out that it's 24 years since we first went to Reading festival, so it will be an almost silver anniversary of the last time I did a wee near Reading)

Ilovelblue · 22/08/2015 07:36

pixie I think Reading is somewhere around where woof lives, isn't it? Maybe you could call in for breakfast?

pixieg1rl · 22/08/2015 08:29

I don't think I can risk her abducting MrP and holding him hostage in her red room. He's about a third the size of Manu, she'd break him in 5 minutes

apsara03 · 22/08/2015 08:43

That's a relief richtea. Hopefully it's been a wake up call. The gap between GCSEs and A levels is significant. They need to ready to work for day one

Alwaysfrank · 22/08/2015 08:47

Interesting topiary Ilove - at first glance I thought it was a t-Rex!

Relief about your son Richtea - just be prepared now for how fast those AS's come round! (If they still exist - bit confused about the changes this year!).

My mum is staying at the moment so posting quickly before having to give awkward explanations- she is incredibly nosey!

cjwoofwoof · 22/08/2015 08:58

Ahaaah! pixie watch out for my little gesture of admiration to Manu near Reading Services. I've installed a phallic structure near there in honour of the size of Manu's manhood, you can't miss it. Don't worry, Mr P is safe on this occasion as AT has exhausted my ya boo with his all night sucking, but if my foibles were straighter Mr P would be in grave danger.

Have a lovely holiday Wine

Onlygirljen · 22/08/2015 09:06

Have a brilliant holiday pix!

KellyHb · 22/08/2015 09:14

Morning all.

Glad you got away okay pix.

It was really warm and sticky last night but chucked it down for hours.

Talking of warm and sticky, how jealous am I of BA's friends this weekend sharing a tent with him. Grin Imagine being in such proximity to him (even his probable backwards baseball cap).

Off to take DD to one of her friends from school's birthday party this morning. Should be good to have a catch up with the other Mams. BTW none have heard of OG?! Confused

Have a nice day everyone.

pixieg1rl · 22/08/2015 09:19

Was that topiary for the Alice in Wonderland stuff ilove? DS did that the other week when we went to Hyde Hall.

Ilovelblue · 22/08/2015 10:01

pixie yes, it was the Alice in Wonderland theme. I wonder if all the RHS gardens are doing something? They had Alice things at Wisley when we were there in June though most of those tended to be little statues etc dotted around the gardens. One of the staff said visitor numbers had increased this summer due to the Alice theme though to be honest, apart from that topiary and a small croquet lawn with plastic pink flamingoes, there was nothing else and I wouldn't have thought it would attract additional visitors, but what do I know.

I am having an indulgent few days off after my holiday as tomorrow I am a Cloud 23 in Manchester with three friends for afternoon tea. Then it's back to work on Monday.

pixieg1rl · 22/08/2015 10:35

I think it's a theme for them all this summer ilove. The kiddies get a treasure hunt and follow clues around the gardens. My friend and I took the boys to Hyde Hall a few weeks ago and she said there's something at Wisley as well

MaddieMoo82 · 22/08/2015 11:27

Have a good holiday pixie are you southwest bound? My bit of Devon is warm and sunny this morning so hoping it's good where you are heading.
Have managed to get out for a nice long walk with baby, dog and DP before I lose DP to beer and sport all day :-/ baby made it all the way round without screaming to which is a bonus. We normally have some sort of meltdown which involves judging glances from other walkers and me having to get my boobs out!

cjwoofwoof · 22/08/2015 11:31

That happens to me a lot when out on walks with Manu, maddie

Richtea19 · 22/08/2015 11:52

Have a safe journey pixie and a fab hols. The weather is gorgeous this morning.

The topiary is stunning, I have a few bushes myself in the garden that require a bit of shaping, I've got a nice gardener that come round to that!!!!

nickel in hope you got DH to take back some stuff for you. Bloody men. I had to bribe DH with the offer of a bacon sarnie to take little DS to football this morning as I'm cooking for friends coming to dinner tonight.

MaddieMoo82 · 22/08/2015 12:01

I guess I can get away with more by concealing son under my top.... I guessing manu doesn't like being concealed woof

cjwoofwoof · 22/08/2015 12:47

No we like to let it all hang out when al fresco, maddie otherwise Manu's leather loincloth can pick up stubborn grass stains that Dr Beckmann struggles to cleanse Grin

pixieg1rl · 22/08/2015 12:54

Just stopped at Plymouth Sainsburys for some gin essential supplies and I spotted a tanned Lego-like man with big chunky watch and thought he would be right up woof's street. The conveyor belt full of Shake & vac rather spoil this hardman demeanour.

MaddieMoo82 · 22/08/2015 12:57

well as long as he's a gentleman and is the one that is lying on the grass ;-)
I'm sure he's not gentle in other ways....

MaddieMoo82 · 22/08/2015 12:59

Aww your 10 mins from my house pixie Yep plymouth men like there carpets clean...
