Have a lovely holiday pix - if you forget to pack anything, blame your DH for not helping and being frickin useless - always works for me

cjwoofwoof · 21/08/2015 15:37

I was going to try a sausage sandwich this time, orph just for a bit of variety. The usual hole can get a bit mundane

orphan · 21/08/2015 15:38

Of course smashed pasty and succulent syllabubs are on my menu tonight. Rupert's got a bit excited as ever and after hearing about your famed car keys party woof, he's dug out my trifle bowl.

orphan · 21/08/2015 15:47

pixie on your recommendation I sent dd with a full set of waterproofs. This weekend seems to be the worst of the rain, then fingers crossed, it improves. She's packed her bikinis so I hope she gets to wear them if only in the bath.

cjwoofwoof · 21/08/2015 16:50

Forget the trifle orph AT will be going for the full knickerbocker glory once the ya boo's been sucked

KellyHb · 21/08/2015 17:06

Actually woof this could also be your lucky day as the Beeb are looking for extras for the new series of Poldark. So potentially you could be around AT a whole lot more. Smile

cjwoofwoof · 21/08/2015 17:15

Ok kel got Beeb on speed dial - hopefully I can be cast as Mature Village Strumpet who lures Captain Poldark back to her boudoir, never to be seen again til Series 3

orphan · 21/08/2015 17:22

Oh does that mean the role of Darkie is going spare woof? I'm quite prepared to double up shall we say, and slip between Poldark's thighs as well as keep him supplied with Prudey's pasties.

Richtea19 · 21/08/2015 17:42

Brilliant advise Bk, thanks, might need you on speed dial!

pixie have a fan holiday, I packed for everyone as usual as they are all bloody useless and all the things I forgot were mine :(

orphan dim lighting or candles when you entertain then you don't need to dust or Hoover!

orphan · 21/08/2015 18:30

Don't worry richtea, the 'mood' I'm aiming for is Blackout.

Prosecco is chilling (several bottles cos these friends like some fizz ) but I might already have had a restorative g&t cos my blooming squidgy chocolate pudding cake is rather more squidgy than expected.

Dp on tidying duty. He's better at it than I am.

MaddieMoo82 · 21/08/2015 18:45

Congratulations on your son getting his sixth form place richtea :-)

orphan when he's finished could you send mrorphan down this way.... My DP is rubbish and needs training.

The new two chicks fanfic is fab but clearly apart from brown hair and brown eyes my DP has nothing in common with CJ as he wasn't anything like that when DS was 3 days old (or through pregnancy thinking about it!) I want an exchange!

cjwoofwoof · 21/08/2015 18:49

I'd've thought squidgy was pretty normal for you orph

Obviously orph my role as Darkie is a given as I'm already typecast from S1 due to the girth of my fetlocks, so I was merely acting on kels advice that extras were being sought and trying to double my dose of Poldark perminess so to speak

Onlygirljen · 21/08/2015 19:11

Great news rich, hope you're celebrating by now Smile

Richtea19 · 21/08/2015 19:34

Oh yes, I'm celebrating. DH out, little DS on the xbox and big DS celebrating with his friends at the Toby Carvery!!! The boy knows how to live!!!! I'm on my 2nd G&T, watching loads of catch up telly. Big packet of crisps and a bottle of prosecco waiting. Life can't be much better, well unless I have CJ snuggled with me :)

KellyHb · 21/08/2015 19:48

rich carvery's are the way forward. Like in woofs story, my up close and personal encounter with CJ's has given me a whole new appreciation of rich meat. Smile

Love the mention in your story woof. I bow down again to your comedic talents but I had no idea that you had such a secret knowledge of the Geordie vocab?? Have you been doing secret recon at Gregg's the bakers or spending time at one of our bars in town, The Strutting Cock?? Wink

cjwoofwoof · 21/08/2015 20:22

Unfortunately I haven't visited that establishment, kel my Bonny lass, but uncannily it sounds like my kind of place. I am, however, a fan of Gregg's, as my rather rolling muffin top will testify. Luckily they are a national chain and their fare is not limited to only the north-east, but here in the south we're charged 25p more and get an embossed napkin. You can't beat a fresh cheese and onion, hinny

KellyHb · 21/08/2015 20:34

woof You live and learn. I always thought it was just a Northern chain of shops?? DH has just shook his head with disbelief. Hmm

MaddieMoo82 · 21/08/2015 20:51

Oh yeah Greggs has even made it to Devon too. I used to live in Northumberland a few years ago and no one then had heard of them. My ex used to work for ringtons and no one believed me you could get tea deliverered but last week I saw a van down here!

cjwoofwoof · 21/08/2015 20:53

No, no kel you're not the only one who's special you know AND we have a Toby Carvery down the road plus of course the best football team in the world Reading FC although I do enjoy the stripy sock erstwhile embraced by the Toon Army (don't know if they still do)

cjwoofwoof · 21/08/2015 20:54

...and I had a crush on Kevin Keegan in the 70s - must've been the perm - I'm still susceptible to a curl

Nickel45 · 21/08/2015 21:18

Have a great holiday everyone who is going tomorrow.

I've decided packing to come home is almost worse than packing to go on holiday .... But how difficult can it be, you ask ... ?!. Littlie had a tantrum so DS now sleeping in my bed, so I can't pack in there ... DH who is going home for three days of peace and quiet has decided he can't take everything I don't need home in his car as it will "overload the car" (wtf!!!), so i now have to repack .... Aaaaagh!!!! Just wondering when I can have a holiday??!!

pixieg1rl · 21/08/2015 21:38

Nickel, perhaps point out to DH that it's either a car full of children or a car full of spare luggage, his choice.

We have a Greggs here as well, mind you they'd look at you blankly if you asked them to fill your stottie, or more blankly than usual.

Packing in full flow at chez pix, MrP still hoping to leave at 5am

Ilovelblue · 21/08/2015 21:41

Evening ladies.

Bet you're relieved Richtea. Glad it's worked out ok in the end. Have a drink on us to celebrate!

Got stuck in traffic/roadworks on the way to Harlow Carr this morning and CJ was getting very fidgety and bad tempered. The next thing we knew, his personal transport arrived to take him to Catterick. The occupants were a decent bunch of guys and managed to clear the road for us so we had a personal escort up to the gardens.

We have many branches of Greggs up here, there's even a city centre one placed logistically beside the biggest taxi queue ever, stays open till 3am with a bouncer on the door. I shit you not, have had many a steak bake and sausage roll from it when utterly pissed at 2am Blush
