I was tossing up between the EE woman and Carol squeaky weather woman for token hopeless old lady. Thought Carol was at least 60 and EE woman in her 50s . I'm 52 myself so should know better!

Anton has got Katie cos they already know she's the next Fiona Philips and Kristina got DOD as her penance for being norty with a married man. The rest is a blur, it went on far too long and I've realised that I can't watch Tess because she reminds me of my arch enemy, so for that reason, I'm out (until they've whittled them down to about 10 at least).

Kellie bright so isnt in her 50s she is 39/40

I thought they'd put Ola with someone hopeless to avoid putting too much strain on the ankle she broke. But maybe they've been watching Iwan and reckon he fits that description.

I still want her physio, though, I've never been able to wear heels since I broke my ankle, let alone dance in them.

Yes that's exactly it MrsJ, and I think she's very attractive - I just couldn't quite put a pin in how old I thought she was. I don't watch EE either, so was trying to guess from strictly pictures!

She vanished from tv for a long time I guess trying to place her and remember her is difficult.

Carol from This Morning did the best back bend at the end of the group dance and she beams with the love of the dancing.
She will have to work hard on her weak foot and legwork. I hope she does well.

The one who disappointed me the most was that young short girl in a yellow charleston fringed dress - I expected more.

Impressed with the showmanship presentation of Jeremy and Peter. The former definitely is a fred Astaire wannabe/has been.
Peter Andre has most certainly trained in stage school dance.
The boxer struggled but could improve.

I too have always loved Natalie as she is such a natural dancer and not so much of the exaggerated stage-like presentation of the others. The same as Flavia who is much missed.

Just found a video on Google of the group Dance last night so I could review it - 4 times.
The young girl is in the light green dress not yellow, and there were others that caught my eye - think she was in a lilac/bluish dress and is blond. I don't know most of them. Another was in a 2-tone pinkish dress.

A slightly built young girl with long black hair was awkward and a bit teeterish but didn't recognise her.

Can't wait to see them properly on their own.

Haha poor Daniel! I pity Kristina but she's due an old duffer. I do hope he's out first. I like Jeremy and Carol and I don't think I could cope watching Daniel for more than a couple of weeks. Although Iwan seems a bit irritating as well. I also thought Kristina looked a bit rubber faced last night....needs to lay off the botox and collagen implants me thinks.

I did actually enjoy last night's episode. Hopefully the line-up will exceed my expectations. I do think this has to be one of the best looking female selection we've had for a while. I did feel for Jay bless him (although he needs to sort his hair out) but he didn't look too bad in the group dance. Georgia also seemed very nervous and stiff but I think she'll improve as the weeks go on.

As for Gleb......Giovanni is more my type looks wise but he could grow on me.

Rivercam- I don't agree that the boxer was disappointed with his partner. She is beautiful and a fantastic dancer. I just think that he was a little overwhelmed.

I reckon this is the best line up and pairings they've had for several years.Its been fun but tedious watching Anton heft wardrobes around and as soon as we vote off ECPK (elderly cabbage patch kid) things will get really good.

I don't know anything about him. Can his Irish fans vote?

Final point, as usual Claud wiped the floor with Tess on presentational style. Someone really needs to get Tess a new autocue writer,ms he cannot keep stating "they're clapping", "they're on their feet" and "they're smiling" as her entire Bon mot repertoire.

I can't believe Jay's only 25! He looks much older - I think it's the hair.

In theory the Irish ECPK fans can't vote but in practice the more computer savvy ones can use proxy servers to pretend to be in the UK and vote online, and the less technological but more rabidly obsessive ones who live in the North of the South IYSWIM can hop over the border for the wrong and vote there. I don't know whether the rumours about his fans' devotion have been exaggerated - if they haven't then there may be a business opportunity for an enterprising pub landlord on the border to run a Strictly On The Big Screen + Chicken in a Basket + Pinot Grigio + 3 Online Votes for Wee Daniel Saturday Evening package package

I was a bit disappointed with the line up when it was announced as I had not heard of a few of the participants, but I enjoyed last night's show with all the introductions.

Thought Anita Rani looked a bit awkward when her partner put his arm round her - she grabbed his hand instead. Jay McGuinness and Georgia May Foote also looked anxious, poor things, they both seem quite sweet. I've never liked Jamelia, I can't even remember why, but I can't see that changing.

Looking forward to the series starting properly. There is so much awful news around at the moment, I'd just like a bit of entertainment and sparkle.
