I would have no qualms about taking a leaf out of ledkr's book and refusing him help - and speech - fiderer, unless perhaps he can get inspiration from homeland since it's now in Berlin?

I have just eaten a roast so my snack of choice will not be savoury, I have a stash of giant chocolate buttons to enjoy with a cup of tea and my homeland fix.
I don't think they count as sliming work free food though.

DD is being waterboarded bathed at speed tonight. By 8.55pm she will be in bed (drugged if necessary) and I will be on the sofa with a bowl of Haagen Dazs and a glass of wine :o

Mine are already in bed. They've been well threatened warned not to show their faces again tonight. I'm going to have a quick tidy round and settle on the sofa for 8.55.

Arse. I am normally of the "Tough shít, lovey" school of mothering regarding homework.

But s2 (16) doesn't like his dad and struggles with the dual nationality (wants to change his name) so it's all fraught. Counselling and problems at school and lots of unhappiness. Couldn't have been a worse topic for him. Hence the avoidance and now the last minute plea.

He's now doing well at a new school and I don't want that scuppered so we sat together & he typed a page of guff & his sister (13) helped and all's well.

I shall now drink a lot of gin.

The last minute homework issues sound like a nightmare - poor you, and poor S2.

I'm sat here expectantly and no-one else is around. I'm not waiting for them. DH has gone for a walk because if he doesn't get his 10,000 steps a day the world will stop turning, DS3 is avoiding a shower and DS2 is loudly skyping his mates upstairs. Bastards, the lot of them. And MIL will phone us at 9.05, I can guarantee it.

I may get an adult beverage in a break, but it will be Horlicks as I have to be up at crazy o'clock tomorrow, alas.
