Wow Kelly, the most notable thing about our local asda is that one of its patrons likes to wander the aisles dressed in Nazi uniform.

orphan · 11/07/2015 12:44

kelly I'm afraid that where we're going in France, for the first week at least, it's far more likely to be wizened, mahogany coloured pensioners probably driving a tractor or polishing their boules. Rural SW is not a prime location for top male talent.

Onlygirljen · 11/07/2015 15:14

Thanks ilove, ice, kelly and orphan Smile

I have a confession to make. I've just bought one of those dresses designed by sugartits. Went on for a peek and some of them are actually quite nice Blush

KellyHb · 11/07/2015 16:05

I remember that being in the papers pixie . Our Asda is never a place to see anything of note but today was indeed an exception.

Took DD to opticians today for an eye test and they said she has to wear them full time except for playing until she's maybe 9 or beyond. She's apoarently long sighted in both eyes but has a stigmatism. Never really heard of the stigmatism part before. Anyway DD is over the moon, she's so excited as most of her friends wear glasses.

Dress sounds nice Jen my friend bought one from Lipsy MK collection. Some are nice I've seen too.

pixieg1rl · 11/07/2015 16:18

I can safely say that me in one of those MK dresses would look like someone was trying to shoplift 12 bags of spuds in there. I plan to be one of those women who spend the summer in shapeless linen tunics and leggings.

Onlygirljen · 11/07/2015 16:56

pixie i'd be smuggling spuds if it wasn't for the flattening powers of a pair of Spanx - they really are miracle workers Smile

Not the most exciting of days for me. Went into town this morning to sort out an account I have with a local building society. Got held up with traffic (had no idea why) then had a slight detour into Debenhams en route to the building society. When I got to the door, I thought it was stuck so rattled it and the cashiers just stared at me through the glass..... only turned out they shut at 11.30 on a Saturday. What a bloody stupid time to shut.

My good mood returned however when I realised the reason the traffic had been bad was because there was a continuation of the Armed Forces Day in the market square. Ilove hotfooted it to check out the talent. They all seemed so YOUNG! Quite a lot of low slung combats and it was so busy that it was very easy to ogle! Some were in dress uniform and there was a RAF contingent too (combats and dress uniform again) but not one single CJ lookalike, not one!

Cut the front hedge this afternoon, well gave it a trim, it had its proper cut in May then realised the bathroom drain was blocked. I do have insurance for that but thought I'd see if it was something simple and fortunately it was. Feeling smug now but totally kn.....d and looking forward to that chilled bottle of Chablis in the fridge.

Is the ff website down? It won't load on my laptop or phone at the moment.

Ilovelblue · 11/07/2015 18:32

Jen which dress did you go for? I had a look at the website a few days ago and as you say, some are rather nice though probably look better on somebody with a size 10 or 12 figure with no lumps or bumps in the wrong places.........

Nickel are you feeling better today?

cjwoofwoof · 11/07/2015 18:48

Sounds like you'll be raiding BA's wardrobe for your summer wear, pix

My day has just improved as I read AT is to star in a 3-part Agatha Christie BBC drama before the new series of Poldark. Lovely... Why couldn't BA have done that after OG1 and whilst his iron was hot???

Onlygirljen · 11/07/2015 18:50

This one ilove
www.lipsy.co.uk/store/michelle-keegan/michelle-keegan-cowl-neck-sleeveless-dress/product-is-kn01603_021

Got my eye on a coat too..Smile

Onlygirljen · 11/07/2015 18:51

Ooh, good news re AT woof

pixieg1rl · 11/07/2015 19:13

I can't get ff site to load either so it's probably down.

I pruned the massively overgrown plum tree today. I get a bit over excited when it comes to pruning so let's hope it survives.

Look on the bright side woof if I'm stealing BA's wardrobe he'll have to wear less in public Grin

cjwoofwoof · 11/07/2015 19:18

Brilliant new chapter jen , I love your stories and it's reassuring to know you'll create a happy ending...eventually...I hope...despite Molly's self doubt looming at the moment.

Grudgingly, I agree Sugartits dress is lovely & I'm sure you'll look great. Somehow I don't think size 22 would look quite as good on me. Crimpelene elastic slacks with built-in stitched crease is my fashion highlight these days Blush

Ilovelblue · 11/07/2015 19:21

Very nice Jen but sadly I'm with pixie on it - I would definitely look like a sack of spuds in one that style. Lucky you being slim enough. Envy

I did well in Debenhams though as I got a lovely Mantaray casual waxed anorak sort of thing which I'd had my eye on for ages but didn't want to pay the price because I have more coats and jackets than I really know what to do with. It was reduced by 50% today so it was shouting "Buy me, buy me!" It is on the back of the settee now and I am admiring it. It'll come in handy for my holiday next month and also for the RHS Tatton Park show on 22 July.

cjwoofwoof · 11/07/2015 19:21

Think yourself lucky you're wearing BAs summer wardrobe rather than my Evans 70% off rejects in various shades of shit brown pix Grin

PS ff site is working ok for me - just read jens no problem. Guess I'm special...

pixieg1rl · 11/07/2015 19:32

FF site back up and working for me now.

KellyHb · 11/07/2015 19:49

Just been food shopping with Dad. Had a very nice latte beforehand. Having a latte is one of my special treats these days. Smile

Nickel45 · 11/07/2015 21:22

So, in the spirit of being a good-enough mother, is it ok to get drunk before the kids are asleep? So far littlie has lost TV for a week, been told she isn't going to two birthday parties and I am quickly running out of punishments for her getting out of bed and calling out loudly and disturbing her brother. Oh. My. Goodness. She is really pushing all the buttons tonight.
(probably me being thick with cold isn't helping my patience, but still ....AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!)

Onlygirljen · 11/07/2015 21:33

nick you need to get a drink poured if you haven't already.

Littlest had his first poo in the toilet tonight, I'm a proud mama Grin. That shows just how eventful my Saturday night is!

Nickel45 · 11/07/2015 21:55

It's better than therapy, moaning on here! I think littlie is asleep, oldest isn't ... ignoring that, drink poured! Not feeling brill today, but someone recommended getting Baroca (not sure how to spell it). Anyone used it?
Lots of ff to catch up on :)
(I'm a bit behind!!)

Nickel45 · 11/07/2015 21:58

That's pretty cool jen ... he's growing up :)

apsara03 · 11/07/2015 22:00

Oh nickel sounds like little DS here. He's fine at school but recently he's been a nightmare at home. We've got a traffic light chart like at school which had been working reasonably well. If he stays on green he gets smiley face and when he hits so many he gets treat but each time on red he loses 30 mins TV/iPad time. Though today he's hit both of us. I don't think it's helped by how tired he is with end of term etc so has lost out on going to cinema tomorrow. Hope you've had a drink or too as jen suggested - it's how I cope!
I've nearly finished Dance the tide so might actually get to sleep at a reasonable hour and get back to I am pilgrim which I suggested for book club and was supposed to read by last week hey ho

KellyHb · 11/07/2015 22:01

Ditto Jen. One of the twins did one today too in the toilet for the first time. Trying again with the potty training. See how it goes. It is quite a milestone, isn't it? Smile

pixieg1rl · 11/07/2015 22:07

Aww, well done to all the pooers, big day.

I have chocolate and prosecco and John Simm on DVD. Smile

icemistOBE · 11/07/2015 22:38

Do we think 3 letters to BA for an autograph is excessive? I'll be going to stalk his agency at this rate!!

Wine lots tonight
