One film I still love is that one with Dylan McDermott and Debra Messing in. What's the title again?? I must be tired. He's a hired escort to her sister's wedding but she pretends it's her boyfriend. Anyway its such a great one. Definate chemistry.

I think my number one couple will always be Molly and CJ. I'm just gonna have to man up and watch the damn DVD and watch it for all its loveliness and next to godliness.

Rhubarb01 · 03/07/2015 23:42

The Wedding Date

KellyHb · 03/07/2015 23:44

Thanks Rhu Love that film!

Rhubarb01 · 03/07/2015 23:45

Think it was Dermot Mulroney kelly although I keep wanting to say Dermot O'Leary (loved him in My Best Friends Wedding as well - back to Julia Roberts again)

KellyHb · 03/07/2015 23:50

Haha. For a film I love-I've got shocking knowledge of it. Yes that right rhu I always get mixed up between Dermot Mulroney and Dylan McDermott.

I wish my smileys list thing would come back on my tablet. It's really hard when you want to press one but they've disappeared. Grrr.

Rhubarb01 · 03/07/2015 23:52

Didn't like the Pretty Woman follow up with Richard Gere (that is the re-teaming of them in Runaway Bride) I've never managed to stick with it until the end.

Another film I like which you will all think is weird I expect is 'Hope Floats' with Sandra Bullock and Harry Connick Jr ('m a bit partial to Jazz and swing music so I expect that's part of the pull - although this is a straight acting role without any singing). I don't always like Sandra Bullock's roles but I do in this film which is funny, quirky and touching. She returns to her small home town in Texas with her daughter after her marriage fails in embarrassing circumstances and has to face all the people she left behind years ago when she was the most popular girl in High School and Prom Queen.

KellyHb · 04/07/2015 00:10

I used to have a thing for Harry Connick Jr especially after seeing in the WW2 film Memphis Belle. Never seen Hope Floats though I'm afraid.

Just seen a very nice pic taken today of Clive Owen. He's aged very well indeed.

pixieg1rl · 04/07/2015 00:16

Ooh, Clive Owen. He looked fabulous in The Croupier. He could have been a Bond contender (looks stunning in a tux) but at 51 he fails Rhu's age requirements.

Rhubarb01 · 04/07/2015 00:21

I always liked Clive Owen right from his Chancer days (bit of a TG connection there as I think he wrote at least one episode). However, I do recall that in one scene his character had to run after a car and boy that man cannot run! It was the most off-putting girly run I've ever seen. He'd better stick to non-action acting and you're right Kelly I think he has improved with age.

Oh well, it's getting late. Suppose I'd better sign off after an evening of reminiscing. I'm very tempted to track down some old Northern Exposure episodes now. Back tomorrow - well later today! Night all!

KellyHb · 04/07/2015 00:31

Night Night Rhu

Onlygirljen · 04/07/2015 08:27

Morning all! Stormy all night here, haven't slept much! rich how's your DS now, did he make it for 8am?! Hopefully he's not too bad. I remember my mum having to make a similar mercy mission for me when I was 19 (remember is a loose word) unfortunately I was so bad that it also involved a trip to the local hospital Blush. She has never let me forget it....

icemistOBE · 04/07/2015 09:06

Morning. Up far too early for a sat with littlest.
No plans for today although there is a bottle of wine with my name on it for tonight.

DS been in the paddling pool since 7am. I'm hoping his dad will be taking him to a birthday party this afternoon and I'll get a few hours to myself later.

BK28 · 04/07/2015 09:50

Rich I always let DH do the pissed collection run plus he deals with singing into the great white telephone better than I....I class it as a father/son bonding session!!! Did he make the 8am call up???

pix sorry to hear about the infection that is really rough!! Hope you feel brighter soon!!

kelly perhaps one of those cameo scenes could be MD running at him at Brize on his return or them Skype ing each other.... LT wouldn't need to leave the UK for that!!!
You need to catch pretty woman...it's a great ironing movie, of which I have many...much to the consternation of DH!!Smile

Richtea19 · 04/07/2015 09:52

jen DS not so good this morning. I got him up, showered etc. Had breakfast and the. Threw it all up!!! I went to the gym (award for bad parenting) and DH took him up to squadron. They took one look at him and sent him home, food poisoning was his excuse. I'm furious with him. And now I have to put up with him loafing about the house all day.

Hope everyone is ok from the storms. It was bad last night but now we are blue sky's and it's getting hot again. My grass is slightly green again!

pixieg1rl · 04/07/2015 10:02

Ooh, rich so many opportunities for revenge. I suggest some loud housework like hoovering and lawn mowing or getting the power tools out as you are overtaken by a desire to do lots of DIY.

Thanks for your good wishes. I'm still feeling pretty rough, but hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon. Last nights thunder kept me awake for a few hours so I got in a bit of writing at about 2am. I'm grateful I conked out at 8 now doing don't feel like a complete zombie.

BK28 · 04/07/2015 10:06

rich sympathies with the loafing around...just sent mine off with DH who is DoE assessing today...he's only been back from uni a week and I'm not sure we are going to make the next 12?!?!

Just had a thought about believable couples.. One of my favs is Paul Bettany and Kirsten dunst in Wimbledon!! Termed in our house as a nice film!!

Alwaysfrank · 04/07/2015 10:13

Parenting teens is another set of challenges, isn't it. Hopefully Richtea jr has learned a valuable lesson.

My dd is driving to an 18th tonight about 15 miles away and she is of course bringing back a carful of friends. I've told her there will be big trouble if any of them are sick in my car!

As of a couple of weeks ago she asked if her BF of 6 months can stay in her room when he stays here. She is 18 and a half so we said yes - but it feels a bit strange!

cjwoofwoof · 04/07/2015 10:23

Ooh Always don't even go there. My DS shocked me to the core when he blithely announced he's sorted for condoms ready for his Spanish shagfest. Despite being 18 it's gut-wrenching to realise they're grown ups now Sad

icemistOBE · 04/07/2015 10:41

Episode 1 watched, with new screenshots as well Grin

Hope you all have a good weekend. Off to DH family wedding and then a christening tomorrow!

icemistOBE · 04/07/2015 10:42

Not looking forward to the teen years at all - well apart from the weekend late getting up maybe

Onlygirljen · 04/07/2015 10:52

Oh dear rich think you might have to do as pixie suggests and make it a very loud environment for him today!

I'm not looking forward to the teenage years, mine have a 6 year gap so will just get one through the teens before we get to go through it all again with the youngest! Confused. Hopefully we'll actually be getting some sleep by that stage, although I'll no doubt be sleepless with worry at what they're getting up to.

Got a 30th tonight, but I've drawn the short straw as designated driver. Probs for the best since I managed to overdo it last night!

pixieg1rl · 04/07/2015 11:18

I think I might strangle MrP today, he's really working that last nerve I have left.

I'm hoping there's a nice age between toddlerdom and teenagers, I don't want any of you with older kids shattering my dreams, ok?Grin
