With Miley gone, never to be heard of for the next 15 years until she turns up with a new head, at least Emily won't have to babysit her every day and night for the foreseeable future.

New thread where we can hope the scriptwriters wake up and actually start paying attention to plot lines and character histories.

Ugh I thought that too dweller

I hate seduction-mode Ken- the smarmy smile and the trembling jowls. Please, no.

I like Audrey and I fear I'll stop liking her if she goes there with Ken.

Don't do it Audrey!

Housemum · 06/07/2015 22:16

DocH - I thought the same, I was expecting her to be due home and then Ken gets the news. How often in real life does something like that happen on the day of an event? Would have still been as sad if they had been preparing for her to come next week, ordered the cake, planned the food etc then Ken gets a call, or Bev turns up to tell him a few days before the party due to happen.

AgathaChristie01 · 07/07/2015 00:26

Felt quite sad watching tonight. We know Deirdre will never come home. It must be difficult for those who worked closely with her for so long, to play out this story. I still find it hard to believe we won't ever see her again, enjoying a cigarette, or having a night out with Liz, and a glass or two, too many...

R.I.P Anne Kirkbride.

woodhill · 07/07/2015 12:12

yes very sad,

did anyone else think Ken could have had the whole kitchen refitted so poor Deidre didn't have to look at that horrible 1980s dated one anymore.

AgathaChristie01 · 07/07/2015 13:19

True. It was sad and yet kinda funny, because of other people's reactions to him buying a new cooker, and a book as presents, for a special birthday.

I know I should feel sorry for Simon, and he has been through a huge amount, at such a young age, but I really wish they would write him out, by sending him away with Peter. I think he will suffer the same fate as Chesney, i.e. cute child actor, but just not good as he gets older.

AgathaChristie01 · 07/07/2015 13:21

There is a nice piece on Corrie's Facebook page, Chris Gascoyne talking about filming the scenes for Deirdre's funeral.

SymphonyofShadows · 07/07/2015 13:43

I thought the same about Simon, it's really time for him to go.

sweetgrape · 07/07/2015 21:17

Simons never been able to act, always rushes his lines out. No timing at all. Apart from that he's very annoying.

AgathaChristie01 · 07/07/2015 21:27

Very annoying. Watch him, when Peter returns, he will run and bury his head on him. That's the height of his acting skills, as far as I can see.

Clawdy · 07/07/2015 21:32

I thought he was a very sweet little boy at first, and a capable little actor, but not any more. It really is time he went back to live with Dad!

Fantasyland · 07/07/2015 21:52

I love Craig as a character and hope they keep him as a nice boy. It is nice to see they didn't stereotype him as off the rails teen to a mouthy single mum.

NoMontagues · 07/07/2015 21:58

Agree fantasy I love that Beth has Craig as a son, it adds a bit of depth to her character, in a way.

southeastdweller · 07/07/2015 22:11

The boy who plays Simon was OK about years ago when he wasn't given much to do but his limitations have been more obvious over the past few years, and yes the character is a brat. There is also the issue of him looking mixed-race which never gets mentioned on Corrie.

Big episode tomorrow night, then. I'm quite nervous about it and the following few given the mistakes the writers have made recently.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 07/07/2015 23:24

Got it! I've been puzzling over where I've seen Dan, he was In The Bill about 20 years ago.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 07/07/2015 23:58

Is Bethany still around? Haven't seen her since I started watching again a week or so back.

AgathaChristie01 · 08/07/2015 00:02

I love Craig, he is so sensible and sweet.
I liked the fact that he was present at the non-christening, and he was genuinely concerned about Faye, he is a pet.

SymphonyofShadows · 08/07/2015 11:03

Big-faced Sarah is getting right on my tits, how dim can she be regarding Callum and his obvious Kylie obsession?

zukiecat · 08/07/2015 15:13

Dan was also the kind taxi driver in A Song For Jenny on Sunday night.

Harrowing viewing, I sobbed all the way through.

Jo4040 · 08/07/2015 15:26

Sarah has come back a boring as fuck character anyway. Zero personality. Nothing about her. Just dull

FraggleHair · 08/07/2015 19:36

My eyes may get slightly leaky this evening!

southeastdweller · 08/07/2015 19:40

That's the first time I can recall Audrey doing a home visit.

Yep, Audrey and Ken is going to happen.

Sparklingbrook · 08/07/2015 19:46

I am watching tonight. But not feeling this at all. Wouldn't the woman from Victoria Wood have rung Ken? Confused

madamehooch · 08/07/2015 19:49

Am actually shedding a tear at the moment.

DocHollywood · 08/07/2015 19:53

The bit in the pub was more realistic than the scene at the house. That was dreadful.

southeastdweller · 08/07/2015 19:59
