Corrie Thread - Bet Emily is relieved there is one less child for her 24 hour creche

With Miley gone, never to be heard of for the next 15 years until she turns up with a new head, at least Emily won't have to babysit her every day and night for the foreseeable future.

New thread where we can hope the scriptwriters wake up and actually start paying attention to plot lines and character histories.

I wonder how the people that write it actually come to a decision? I have an image if a couple of blokes and a woman with polaroid pictures of all the cast laid out in front of them on a big table. Just like the judges do in Britain's Got Talent and the X Factor. I also have images of big glass boards with pictures of the characters on with marker pen written all over it and arrows and stars, like they do on crime watch.

Filing cabinets spring to mind with all the characters history in them, D.O.B, ex partners, medical history information like that.

It must be very hard to keep track of everything. For example

'Didn't Dev once have an ingrowing toenail eight years ago?!'

'I'll just check..-Roots through filing cabinate- mutters A,B,C,D, Ahhh D for Dev. Okkkk let's look. Oh Bugger! Yep, can't go with Norris having an ingrowing toenail, been their done that with Dev.'

AgathaChristie01 · 08/08/2015 20:56

I agree Wishful. I used to love when Eileen, Liz and Deirdre would have a few drinks and a chat, just ordinary life, and usually funny too. Also liked the cab office with Eileen, Steve and Lloyd. Now either Andrea or Michael or both are always hanging around like a bad smell.

Eileen with Michael, no, no NO!

eddiemairswife · 08/08/2015 23:23

Andrea won't be hanging around for much longer. but unfortunately Lloyd won't be either.

EachandEveryone · 09/08/2015 09:09

I really like Lloyd was it his own choice to go???

eddiemairswife · 09/08/2015 10:49

He's going to appear in a new series of Red Dwarf.

AnxiousAggie · 09/08/2015 14:02

I think they've lost the key to that filing cabinet Jo if they can forget something as significant as Kevin having a child who died Confused

Wishful80smontage · 09/08/2015 16:32

You'd like to think the actors might remember that also though why didn't the guy who plays Kevin say 'hang on a minute' when he read the script. Poor all round.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 09/08/2015 17:37

I think Anxious is right.

I see from the previews of next weeks episodes that Andrea/Jazz Hands becomes even more unlikeable. Looking forward to seeing her final episode next month!

MrsUltracrepidarian · 09/08/2015 20:07

it seems to me that Sally was a part owner of the factory once before (or am I misremembering/hallucinating..?)

EachandEveryone · 09/08/2015 20:32

Do you think the factory could be rented ?

Jo4040 · 09/08/2015 20:55

Maybe and its just the business that's for sale...

KenDoddsDadsDog · 09/08/2015 21:15

I go on holiday for a week and SALLY AND KEVIN KISS ??? why ?

ajandjjmum · 10/08/2015 14:38

KenDoddsDadsDog · 10/08/2015 20:13

AnneEyhtMeyer · 10/08/2015 20:29

Surely Tracey hasn't discovered a conscience?

Seriously do people say are you gay, are you single to the chef? Maybe I just don't get out much.

LavenderRain · 10/08/2015 22:04

I actually think Amy was good tonight, usually I think she is a horrible child.

AgathaChristie01 · 11/08/2015 07:50

Seriously do people say are you gay, are you single to the chef? Maybe I just don't get out much.

I had the same thought. That was ridiculous.

mollie123 · 11/08/2015 07:52

why was the kitchen help (who was chopping like a madwoman) in Bistro in kitchen whites but 'Rob' who just happens to be a chef was not Hmm
if I was the previous chef I would have sued for unfair dismissal but this is Corrie planet where abnormal things happen.
will Eileen please ditch Michael - a very unlikely pairing - I imagine he wears dingy y-fronts and mismatched socks Shock

AgathaChristie01 · 11/08/2015 14:13

Oh I'd prefer not to think too much about Michael's underwear or socks!

Wasn't it convenient that the chef job became available, just when Robert reappeared. It's extraordinary that he suddenly has such deep feelings for Tracy, when they haven't seen or heard from one another in so long. Of maybe that is why he has those feelings.

Corrie badly needs some proper storylines. Tracy and her endless string of partners, not to mention her crimes, and the Platt / Callum saga are worn out at this stage.

Ken feeling sad for Deirdre was realistic, in last night's episodes, but then it was just brushed aside.

AgathaChristie01 · 11/08/2015 14:14

Or maybe... (Not of...)

Listmaker · 11/08/2015 14:35

Back from my holidays and find I'm agreeing with you all as ever...

Eileen would never be with someone like Michael in a million years, how does Tracy (a single mother pushing 40 and a cow) get man after man and why is Robert about 10 years older than her...etc etc.

At least Sophie managed to remember Maddie last night!

Jo4040 · 11/08/2015 14:43

I thinnk the whole point of the two people in the Bistro asking if Robert was single because it was a gay man out with his straight mate. I think they were talking bets with one another to try and pull him. I tbi k the whole point was really to make it sound as tho this Robert is 'The Good looking Cheif' that Tracy has been lucky enough to pull.

Chef taking bets not talking
Damb phone!
