Corrie Thread - Bet Emily is relieved there is one less child for her 24 hour creche

With Miley gone, never to be heard of for the next 15 years until she turns up with a new head, at least Emily won't have to babysit her every day and night for the foreseeable future.

New thread where we can hope the scriptwriters wake up and actually start paying attention to plot lines and character histories.

On Sunday Brunch SH said being in Corrie was 'a box ticked'. I wonder what other boxes she has? A stint with the RSC in Stratford?

millimat · 04/08/2015 07:35

I was waiting too actually see Lily for once as well!! Or for Kylie to turn down Gail because she < shock horror> had to look after her daughter.
Isn't Sarah living at Nick's?

Sparklingbrook · 04/08/2015 07:37

Carla's gambling storyline-yawn. Just go if you're going.

Moreshabbythanchic · 04/08/2015 09:01

I have watched Corrie since it started yes, I'm that old and never has it been so full of boring story lines and actors. The only reason I watch it now is for Gail's gurning, she really could win any completion with her silly expressions.

Moreshabbythanchic · 04/08/2015 09:02

Bah, competition

Wishful80sMontage · 04/08/2015 09:38

Just watched last night's episodes its just so poor at the minute. It needs a total change top to bottom really does need radical changes now.

Sparklingbrook · 04/08/2015 09:40

It's almost as if the scriptwriters are thinking 'oh shit what can we do with this story now,we should never have started it' with every single storyline.

DocHollywood · 04/08/2015 09:54

Yes, agree. I very rarely watch a whole episode as it's a waste of half an hour! This is why I've missed why Cathy is living at Roy'sBlush
The last I saw was the brat pack tidying her house so has she decided it's too clean now or something?

differentnameforthis · 04/08/2015 10:13

Isn't Sarah living at Nick's? Has his flat been rebuilt already? Where is he living if not?

Jo4040 · 04/08/2015 10:20

Why won't Sarah tekk kylie what she saw with the gun? Surly if they all stick together they can form some kind of plan. Maybe it's me that's missing something or nodded off at a crucial bit of dialogue.

Jo4040 · 04/08/2015 10:22

Surely*

AgathaChristie01 · 04/08/2015 10:45

Totally agree. And worst of all, any storyline which is character driven, and with an actor who is capable of carrying it off, (Steve's depression, being one example), is brought to an abrupt end, while nonsensical, weak storylines involving unconvincing characters such as Sarah, Bethany and Callum run on forever.

Housemum · 04/08/2015 10:48

I might be alone in this but I quite like Roy and Cathy - two totally odd characters that might grow into a relationship. And if he has a girlfriend it might stop Fiz simpering over him all the time.

The acting in the cab office with stroppy bird airport run was dire - she was totally unbelievable, wtf was the point (other than the dishonest Eileen bit).

I liked the classic Corrie bit with the "Pancetta? Didn't you know you could use streaky bacon" repetition. Like the doughnuts the other week.

Sparklingbrook · 04/08/2015 10:50

I am alone in not liking Roy's character. Actually I am not sure I like any of the characters.Grin There isn't a single one who I would like to go down the pub with.

tarashill · 04/08/2015 11:12

Sparkling you're not alone, I've never liked Roy, he annoys the hell out of me.

eddiemairswife · 04/08/2015 11:13

I really ought to get a life. Worrying about Lily yesterday evening I decided she must have gone with David to visit Grandad Martin. Then I was concerned that they might forget her birthday later this month.

NoMontagues · 04/08/2015 11:21

I'd go down the pub with Luke, if necessary Grin

millimat · 04/08/2015 11:23

I thought that miraculously the only flat affected in the fire was carlas, so nick was still in his. I know Sarah was there when David kicked them out.

DocHollywood · 04/08/2015 11:42

I think I could have a good night out in the Rovers with Eileen and Liz as long as they weren't on the look out for men.

BreconBeBuggered · 04/08/2015 11:42

I find I have stopped wondering about the logistics of Corrie life these days. Even with the stupid Callum/Sarah blackmail effort, I simply shrugged and reminded myself that Sarah can be relied upon to have the mental processing powers of a tinned pea.

Jo4040 · 04/08/2015 11:47

If I could make one character be real life, I'd like to be friends with Sinade. I would avoid alot of the other girls/women. I'd like my OH to be friends with Tyrone haha

AgathaChristie01 · 04/08/2015 13:51

I find Alya very dull. I also dislike the way she talks down to the others in the factory. One minute she is channelling Mike Baldwin in his heyday, next thing she and Gary are kissing in full view of the others. She needs to make up her mind, does she want to be taken seriously as the 'boss' or not.

MrsUltracrepidarian · 04/08/2015 14:13

A stint with the RSC in Stratford? Grin

theliverpoolone · 04/08/2015 16:40

Eddie I think Kylie did actually bring Lily out of the taxi when she arrived back from the holiday, so don't think she's with David. I always wonder if the actors actually question where the kids are expected to be, when they read their scripts Hmm

eddiemairswife · 04/08/2015 17:35

The producers ought to set up a website where viewers can ask about such things as childcare, sleeping arrangements etc.
