Corrie Thread - Bet Emily is relieved there is one less child for her 24 hour creche

AnneEyhtMeyer · 27/06/2015 18:45

With Miley gone, never to be heard of for the next 15 years until she turns up with a new head, at least Emily won't have to babysit her every day and night for the foreseeable future.

New thread where we can hope the scriptwriters wake up and actually start paying attention to plot lines and character histories.

It's as though they have got too many characters to deal with

elbowsdontsing2 · 02/08/2015 18:56

bloody hell i forgot all about izzy and the baby thats never seen

grahamnortonsbeard · 02/08/2015 21:08

They've got themselves into a right pickle - too many kids! They need to lay off the pregnancy stories, kill off Callum, Bethany and Sarah in another of their yawnsville fires and split Eileen and Michael up IMMEDIATELY: she's far too funny and sassy for him.

southeastdweller · 02/08/2015 21:18

I wish they'd kept Eileen on at the Rovers.

eddiemairswife · 02/08/2015 22:32

For a long time I've felt that Eileen has been wasted. She's got great comic potential, but too often is given pathetic storylines where she's desperately trying to get a man. I agree that the pub scenes were great.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 03/08/2015 07:18

Kev won the lottery a few years ago when he and Sally were getting divorced. So he should be comfortably off. I think the reason the rest of them have so much spare cash is that they live with so many people in each house.

I've had a binge watch of about 2 weeks worth of episodes over the weekend and am starting to enjoy it again. I'm enjoying the Callum story more now that he's not just baiting David, they've turned him into a proper soap bad guy. Bethany and Sarah-Lou are totally out of their depth with him.

Also enjoying the friendship of Roy and Cathy, although I'm not keen on the hoarding storyline.

Just wish the Gail / Eileen / Michael love triangle could be resolved, I agree that Eileen is wasted on him.

elbowsdontsing2 · 03/08/2015 10:26

didnt sophie steal kev s lottery winnings to help the homeless but she was conned.

millimat · 03/08/2015 11:44

That sounds familiar. I think she was meant to pay him back but like so many storylines that seems to have been forgotten!

Pyjamaramadrama · 03/08/2015 15:09

I don't mind Callum too much, I find him a bit over the top sometimes, I hate the way he's bullied David as I think David would have outsmarted him.

I seem to remember Sarah being a nicer person when she was in it before, I prefer her softer side. Bethany again is too over the top.

I'm not enjoying Roy/Cathy, I hope they don't start a romance. I love Roy but prefer when he bounces off other characters, such as his friendship with Carla, the curry nights.

Eileen was amazing as the rubbish barmaid.

I don't mind Les Dennis as I love to hate him. His character is the most annoying, whiney, hypocritical fool they've ever had.

eddiemairswife · 03/08/2015 17:00

I too am not keen on Roy/Cathy and hope a romance is not on the cards. My feeling is that Roy had a very happy marriage, against the odds, and it would be out of character were he to marry again, or even have an affair.(Unlike most of the rest of the cast, who can't go 5 minutes without having sex with someone however inappropriate.)

KenDoddsDadsDog · 03/08/2015 19:29

Cathy will always be Avaline to me ! Wink

southeastdweller · 03/08/2015 19:34

I can imagine IRL someone like Roy in a new relationship but he would take it very, very slowly. But in Corrie world, I think we're in for a spring 2016 wedding for Roy and Cathy.

MrsUltracrepidarian · 03/08/2015 19:52

I was hoping when they cleared out Cathy's house and she was horrified was because her mummified dead husband was sill there Grin.
I like the fact that she had evolved gradually from being terrified etc to actually smiling and making a joke.
Acting - they need more of that...

Chipstick10 · 03/08/2015 20:01

Hello Avaline tell me all your news

mollyonthemove · 03/08/2015 20:35

Sarah Harding is dire....

HirplesWithHaggis · 03/08/2015 20:53

Beth, Kirky and the dog clothes! Grin

HirplesWithHaggis · 03/08/2015 21:12

I'm not getting the logic of the Callum story right now. Sarah can't tell the family court about him being dangerous around kids (the loaded gun) because he has video of him being dangerous around kids (using Bethany as a courier). Confused Hmm

Jo4040 · 03/08/2015 21:20

HirpleswithHaggis. How absolutely accurate. Can't believe how the script writters have got away with that. Surely a number of people have to watch the episode before it has been given permission to air? Not one if them for back and said 'errrr durrrr'

thenightsky · 03/08/2015 21:25

Why is Carla suddenly a gambling addict... where the hell did that come from?

I think they just throw ideas into a hat and pull them out randomly.

Confused
HirplesWithHaggis · 03/08/2015 21:34

I suppose we're meant to think he's blackmailing Sarah into keeping silent so he doesn't expose Bethany engaging in criminal behaviour (and Sarah as a poor parent?) but the video can't show what's in the parcels and wouldn't stand up in court, it's just Bethany going to a couple of doors. Explaining to the court what she's actually doing would mean exposing his own involvement. It makes no sense.

tarashill · 03/08/2015 21:35

What is it with Sarah Hardings teeth. The scenes with Callum and Sarah were beyond dire.

eddiemairswife · 03/08/2015 22:35

At one point this evening Sarah said she was going home. She was at Gail's, so I assumed home was Audrey's where she has been staying since the fire. But this morning she went to Dev's in her dressing gown, so where does she live? The other thing that puzzles me is Cathy's situation. A few weeks ago she had a broken boiler and was washing in the Rover's, then the bailiffs came and went empty-handed, and then...... nothing. Are bailiffs so easily fobbed off?

woodhill · 03/08/2015 23:11

yes Callum would just expose himself, he is already known as a drug dealer anyway.

theliverpoolone · 03/08/2015 23:22

So Max goes off to his dad's, giving Kylie and Gail a free day to go out for tea and 'fancies'. No mention of Lily in any of this.........why oh why can't they just have a 'day out with Lily', even if we don't actually see the child on screen, it'd be more believable Hmm

FabulousFudge · 04/08/2015 02:39

Sarah Harding's acting is beyond dire! Cringe! Callum's is not much better. Michelle's make up seemed more natural - it suits her.
