Corrie Thread - Bet Emily is relieved there is one less child for her 24 hour creche

With Miley gone, never to be heard of for the next 15 years until she turns up with a new head, at least Emily won't have to babysit her every day and night for the foreseeable future.

New thread where we can hope the scriptwriters wake up and actually start paying attention to plot lines and character histories.

Sally walking round with the (empty) clipboard, why do Corrie always do this, with whoevers the supervisor, Ivy Tilsley had one too.

southeastdweller · 28/07/2015 18:38

Completely agree, Mrs and Agatha. More real stories, please, with decent actors instead of the opposite!

I'm really looking forward to the upcoming scenes with Roy and Cathy in Blackpool.

Jo4040 · 28/07/2015 21:01

NoMontagues, I vaguely remember that! David towards gail is so funny tho, I can't remember what he once did but he is so funny when he gives her cheek..ooo I wish I could remember!!

The empty clip board... They also obviously have an empty bru. I feel like heaving when I put a empty cup to my mouth because I can somehow smell the cup! It's obvious that there empty because the cup looks too light in their hand. I have said this before but in the salon all they do is comb or straighten hair and I love it when they send a text how it takes them about three press of the buttons. Or when they phone someone its simply ONE press on their mobile. No unlocking their phone, searching through contacts etc...

Get real corrie! This never happens in Emmerdale! They know how to make a proper bloody bru!

Hehe

woodhill · 28/07/2015 21:11

yes clipboard and totally overdressed for a grotty factory floor

TheLastPickleInTheJar · 28/07/2015 22:15

Yes to the fake brews. Whenever someone hands over a freshly make cuppa the recipient usually holds their hands around the cup and then starts sipping immediately. Very unrealistic!

hildasmuriel · 29/07/2015 10:20

I remember David as a child going into the Rover's (I think there was a storyline about them opening the pub for children) and saying 'Hotpot Betty Love'. Betty's face back just great. I also loved a scene a few years ago where Jason went to fix Gail's radiator and thought she was coming on to him.

These little gems are what makes the Street great.

differentnameforthis · 29/07/2015 12:05

I have just watched the episode where Bev told Kev et al about Deirdre (in Oz, so a little behind) ans I was shocked when Kev & Leanne told Simon off for saying that he "tell it like it is" (paraphrasing) but they didn't say anything when Amy told him to shut his mouth...what was that all about?

differentnameforthis · 29/07/2015 12:09

Kev? Ken

Pyjamaramadrama · 29/07/2015 14:40

I've not got much to say to it all really but I'm mostly just skipping most of Corrie these days. I watch a few scenes that I want to.

AgathaChristie01 · 29/07/2015 18:40

I watched an old episode today, Ivy and Don's wedding. Grin
Nicky was so cute, and kept messing with Alf's hat. Aww.

southeastdweller · 29/07/2015 19:59

I hate seeing Eileen with Michael. It looks and feels so wrong.

DocHollywood · 29/07/2015 20:01

Ha ha loved Cathy's dry comment about her not being on fire Grin

TheLastPickleInTheJar · 29/07/2015 22:20

I don't like eileen and Michael either. She's too good for him. Bring back thingy shadwick (who clearly made a huge impression on me as i can't remember his name!)

AgathaChristie01 · 30/07/2015 05:03

I agree about Eileen and Michael. At this stage, I'd love to see Gail getting her fighting spirit back, tell them they are welcome to one another (and mean it), then walk away with her head held high.
Eileen starts to realise that she has made a mistake and kicks Michael out, and he leaves the Street, never to be seen again.
Gail then talks some sense into various members of her own family, and the endless Callum saga comes suddenly to a close, with Callum, Sarah and Bethany going far, far away, never to be seen again. Grin

Wishful80sMontage · 30/07/2015 07:37

Lets all hope the scriptwriters really are taken inspiration from this thread and your post specifically Agatha

Wishful80sMontage · 30/07/2015 07:45

*taking

AgathaChristie01 · 30/07/2015 08:31

Thanks Wishful Smile.
I think because I've been watching some old episodes, and enjoying how the depth of the characters made the stories so realistic, sometimes just in the humdrum, day to day business of living, it made me think how I'd like to see it happening now.

NoMontagues · 30/07/2015 08:39

doc I haven't seen last night's yet but I'm starting to warm to Cathy a bit.

desperatehousewife21 · 30/07/2015 10:14

So so bored of callum/ Bethany etc so unrealistic for a 14/15yo to be like that never at school but school never seems to ring Sarah about it.

Chipstick10 · 30/07/2015 10:21

I simply cannot watch. Everytime I attempt to I end up turning over because I can't stand the appalling acting (Callum, Bethany) and dreadful amateurish storyline currently running. Apparently it goes on until September. Why do the writers and producers think we care about these characters. They seem obsessed with them

desperatehousewife21 · 30/07/2015 11:07

Haha! Sarah Harding has been slated for her acting on corrie, people on twitter saying 'worst actress ever it physically pains me' Grin

Safe to say she wont be coming back.

eddiemairswife · 30/07/2015 11:08

I wonder if the scriptwriters are trying to appeal to a younger audience, such as those who, I assume, watch Hollyoaks. I sometimes catch Hollyoaks while I'm waiting for Channel4 News, but as I have the TV on mute I never know what's happening. It looks fascinating though; lots of beautiful young people crying....some in hospital... some in prison.... some with babies...

With exception of the baby...they are probably all in hospital/prison/crying because of the amount of make up & hair spray they have on.

I cannot take that show seriously anymore ... NOTHING moves. It's all powdered/lacquered/botoxed into submission!

I've wondered the same about who they are trying to appeal to. I've never seen Hollyoaks, apart from the odd scene shown on soap awards programmes.
I don't think Callum and co would sustain anyone's interest UNLESS of course they moved lock stock and barrel to Hollyoaks Wink.
