Corrie Thread - Bet Emily is relieved there is one less child for her 24 hour creche

With Miley gone, never to be heard of for the next 15 years until she turns up with a new head, at least Emily won't have to babysit her every day and night for the foreseeable future.

New thread where we can hope the scriptwriters wake up and actually start paying attention to plot lines and character histories.

Loved it when Tim came down from his bath in the shirt Grin

I quite enjoyed all the confusion about going into town to buy donuts too.

I can't believe Sarah would stand by and let Callum talk to her mum the way he does. I still hate that storyline.

woodhill · 27/07/2015 21:57

Bethany's rudeness to adults going unchecked is annoying.

AgathaChristie01 · 27/07/2015 22:05

Definitely stolen from Friends, the picnic idea. Gary and Alya, Callum, Bethany and Sarah all bore me to tears.

GetHappy · 27/07/2015 22:18

I even turned the second episode off half way through to do a fitness dvd i was that bored!!

eddiemairswife · 27/07/2015 22:19

Given a choice I would take Callum etc. over Gary and Alya any day.

HirplesWithHaggis · 28/07/2015 01:53

Those of you who say, "Ooh, the scriptwriters must be watching this thread!" (not just you, Lavender, I've seen it several times) do realise it's usually filmed weeks in advance, with the plotline planned for months into the future? Anything we're saying now is utterly irrelevant!

SavoyCabbage · 28/07/2015 06:16

Gary and Alya is the most unbelievable relationship of all time. He is such a loser. Constantly making bad decisions and never taking responsibility for anything. She's an ambitious educated woman. What would they find to talk about?

I think they shipped Our Miley off because they realised it was such a daft storyline! It came from nowhere and now it's over.

I wonder if Craig is going to carry on with the graffiti.

Sparklingbrook · 28/07/2015 06:34

What Haggis you mean its not live? With the scriptwriters logged into MN? Shock

AgathaChristie01 · 28/07/2015 07:04

Grin. Just imagine the fun we would have! And, we could get rid of characters... Wink

Sparklingbrook · 28/07/2015 07:05

Ooh yes interactive Corrie. Enough votes and the character gets the chop at the end of the episode?

southeastdweller · 28/07/2015 07:45

I'm also shocked to discover Corrie is filmed weeks in advance.

Really poor couple of episodes last night, though I like seeing the friendship with Kathy and Roy developing. Melanie Hill and David Neilson are really strong actors.

Something like the red chair on the Graham Norton Show Grin, except in the form of a trapdoor in the cobbles.
The producer / writers seem very reluctant to get rid of characters, as we saw from the bus crash, and the fire (in which we knew that Kal and Maddie would die, because they wanted to leave), so we need to help them along Grin.

Wishful80sMontage · 28/07/2015 09:11

Sally and Tim on form. Sally saying 'I imagined us going put for dinner with him and his wife' Grin

Sparklingbrook · 28/07/2015 10:15

Didn't Sally used to work at a car dealership?

AnguaResurgam · 28/07/2015 10:28

Oh yes, wasn't that what led to her shagging Greg?

EachandEveryone · 28/07/2015 11:59

Yes Gail mentioned it last night.

AgathaChristie01 · 28/07/2015 12:07

I didn't bother watching the second episode last night. I couldn't take any more. Gary and the picnic basket ... Give me strength.

Sparklingbrook · 28/07/2015 13:04

I wasn't fully concentrating last night I have to confess.

eddiemairswife · 28/07/2015 16:30

Did Gary take the picnic basket to Alya while she was at work? Why?

MrsUltracrepidarian · 28/07/2015 17:24

half way through to do a fitness dvd i was that bored!!
Grin
so grateful to this thread - fast forward, only watching the Tim/Sally bits.

AgathaChristie01 · 28/07/2015 17:31

Yes. Tyrone told him it was a great idea. Tyrone had seen them on the street, as Gary was leaning in to kiss Alya, she was already gone. So he went in, complete with basket, a la Ross in Friends, but she was still busy, a la Rachel...

Then she pulled a folder from underneath the basket, because she was on an important call, and the whole basket ended up on the floor.

Jo4040 · 28/07/2015 17:45

LMFAO. Who remembers that scene in the factory when Liam Connor told the girls that they would have to stay in their dinner and finish an order. They were all winging about their dinner when Sally piped up 'Well more fool you, I'm prepared and iv brought an apple.'...Whilst the workers were working in their lunch hour Liam came round taking a lunch order that he was going to pay for from Roy's. When it was sallys turn to say what she wanted, Janice shouted across the room 'Nout for Sall, she's got an apple!' Lmao

To this day me and my OH use this joke often when asking one another what we want to eat.

Classic funny corrie moment!

MrsUltracrepidarian · 28/07/2015 17:53

OK luckily having read this was able to ff so only watched the best bits Grin
I like the Roy/Melanie Hill stuff. This is real acting and real life, awkward, people doing embarrassing awkward things.
We need more of this and deff less of the silly Callum/Bethany/Gary/ Aysha stuff

AgathaChristie01 · 28/07/2015 18:20

Agree Mrs, definitely need more of Roy etc and a lot less of those others.

NoMontagues · 28/07/2015 18:29

My favourite moment Jo - it's from a few years back!
David Platt walks up to the bar of the Rovers- "Pint please Betty"
Betty- "David. You're thirteen .
David "You barmaids are all the same."
