With Miley gone, never to be heard of for the next 15 years until she turns up with a new head, at least Emily won't have to babysit her every day and night for the foreseeable future.

New thread where we can hope the scriptwriters wake up and actually start paying attention to plot lines and character histories.

I am the wrong side of 40 and not sure why I know who she is!

Sparklingbrook · 27/07/2015 08:06

I have ITV2 on now. SH has just slapped Traceyluv. Brill.Grin

AgathaChristie01 · 27/07/2015 08:20

True about not knowing SH. If there hadn't been any hype about her joining, I wouldn't have had a clue who she was. My mum definitely wouldn't.

Sparklingbrook · 27/07/2015 08:35

I think i am all caught up now. What is going on with Callum/Bethany? I wasn't concentrating.

millimat · 27/07/2015 08:41

My guess is that he will blackmail the family with the filming of her delivering drugs in order to get max.

Sparklingbrook · 27/07/2015 08:43

Ah yes, I saw Callum lurking in the bushes, that would make sense. Another riveting storyline for the Platt household.

DocHollywood · 27/07/2015 09:00

I've caught up as well. I actually felt sorry for Tracey as she had no idea! Hate the way that wives are scripted to slap the other woman when it's the lying cheating husband who is to blame. Wouldn't have had a clue about SH, to me she sounded like just another monotone bit player scripted in for a couple of episodes.

C'mon Eileen! You can do a LOT better than Michael! Les Dennis looks like he's put on weight and is very red-faced, not attractive at all as a new beau. Found the scenes with Gail fawning and simpering really embarrassing to watch. As a couple they are much better matched than Michael with Eileen.

Loved Sally and Tim, hope it's for keeps. Have no idea why Tyrone and Kev were taking the mickey out of Take That, it was Sally's favourite song! Liked the humour when Sally couldn't hear a word he was sayingGrin

Also liked the bit where they all decided to go on holiday, really warming to Sinead, poor thing!

SymphonyofShadows · 27/07/2015 09:29

If it is a blackmail plot then Previously Evil David wouldn't have cared. I wish he would come back. They have made him such a wuss, look how he persecuted Nick for sleeping with Kylie, not that long ago.

Regarding Helen Flanagan, she had a gender neutral baby shower, unfortunately she chose UKIP colours. Oopsie

NoMontagues · 27/07/2015 10:30

I think Helen Flanagan is a beautiful looking girl, although I don't read the gossip mags or go on the DM site these days so I haven't seen her in ages. Everyone looks a tad rough in the new baby days though really!

I don't care what happens with Callum and Bethany (as long as it nothing "romantic"!!) but I suspect Bethany is in for a life lesson of some description, as she clearly needs taking down a peg or two.

Agree re Les Dennis and Eileen. I'm annoyed on Eileen's behalf that they've insulted her with that pairing. When Gail was with him, you could understand it as Gail never lets the actual human being that she's marrying get in the way of her husss-band fantasies, but Eileen! Eileen not a self-deluder.

Sparklingbrook · 27/07/2015 10:32

I think Helen Flanagan is ok but she always seems thick as mince and all those duck face shots holding the baby are Hmm

AgathaChristie01 · 27/07/2015 10:43

NoMontagues agree re Michael and Gail although I hate what they have done to Gail's character. This is the woman who had to deal with Ivy Tilsley all those years ago. Grin Not a task for the faint hearted.

No way should they have had this storyline of Eileen fancying Michael. Just no!

Please scriptwriters if you do read this thread, make Callum, Sarah and Bethany go away. Please. Forever.

TheLastPickleInTheJar · 27/07/2015 11:03

Agree the scriptwriters have done a massive disservice to gail's character. She was a strong resilient woman with good friendships. She and sally often used to get together for wine and gossip. Not so much now. She had a lovely friendly laugh that we never hear anymore. Now she's always simpering over Michael or letting David walk all over her. Not the Gail of old.

Sarah Harding is terrible. She's not an actress and it shows.

I LOVED sally and Tim's scenes. They're the best thing in it by far. I was terrified she was going to say no so i nearly cheered when she said yes! Kevin may be making good deals at work but he has not the wit, charm or looks that Tim has. No contest. Put Anna and Kevin together but leave sally and Tim alone!

eddiemairswife · 27/07/2015 11:15

Sinead still seems to be using crutches. I wonder how she will manage camping.

NoMontagues · 27/07/2015 11:21

That's true eddie - especially if it's raining.

Wishful80sMontage · 27/07/2015 12:35

The live episodes are coming up soon aren't they- September maybe?

theliverpoolone · 27/07/2015 13:40

I also thought a camping holiday seemed a very unlikely choice for Sinead when 5 minutes ago she couldn't even stand up.

Did anyone else notice the other day, when Tim doused his food in brown sauce in the cafe, he then immediately got up and said he had to be getting on, and walked out leaving the food on the plate without having even taken a bite. Sally didn't bat an eyelid Hmm

DocHollywood · 27/07/2015 14:12

Yes, I watched that today and thought the same thing!

Also I'm sure Maria said 'thanks Liam' to Luke when he offered to babysit Liam.

AgathaChristie01 · 27/07/2015 15:01

Agreed Pickle, on all your points. A huge disservice, especially to such a long serving character. And yes, I loved, in the past, when there were just chats between friends, like Sally and Gail, or when Eileen, Liz and Deirdre (RIP) used to get together for a chat and a few drinks.

I think the thing with the sauce was possibly Tim getting jealous and flouncing out because Sally started to talk to Kev.

I also thought Maria stumbled over the name, and that she definitely didn't say Luke.

sweetgrape · 27/07/2015 15:20

Yes I hate it when that happens with food, they do it with drinks in the Rovers too. The thing is, in real life people just don't do this.

LavenderRain · 27/07/2015 16:20

Just thinking about the chubby, red faced Les Dennis. Its hard to believe he was once married to Amanda Holden Confused

EachandEveryone · 27/07/2015 17:11

She totally used him though

Housemum · 27/07/2015 19:16

Gail is gradually turning into the hamster/mouse that she resembles, I can just see her disappearing into paws and whiskers. She was so strong in the past! She's survived a dunk in the flipping canal, she's come back from abusive partners and a son who tried to kill her, but fat-ice-cream-selling-ex-burglar dumps her and she goes to pieces.
And as for Eileen, does she really want Gail's cast offs? All together now "come on eileen..." (they've finally used that line a few times recently)

KenDoddsDadsDog · 27/07/2015 20:50

Tim "Who is he ,my agent ?" Wink

CandOdad · 27/07/2015 20:53

Picnic at the factory. Ross taking Rachael a picnic to work and her just being too busy?

Are the script writers just stealing from other shows now then?

LavenderRain · 27/07/2015 21:14

Miley has appeared! Im sure the writers read MN
maybe they are Mnetters!
