Corrie Thread - Bet Emily is relieved there is one less child for her 24 hour creche

AnneEyhtMeyer · 27/06/2015 18:45

With Miley gone, never to be heard of for the next 15 years until she turns up with a new head, at least Emily won't have to babysit her every day and night for the foreseeable future.

New thread where we can hope the scriptwriters wake up and actually start paying attention to plot lines and character histories.

hate the Bethany/Callum crap. Amy was rude

DocHollywood · 13/07/2015 21:16

Although in the writers' defence, it was always going to be a difficult one to get right.

Reignbeau · 13/07/2015 21:26

I had a Grin moment at Liz and Eileen.

"I thought I was your best mate"
"Well you are now"

Meh to the rest though, wtf happened to Peter.

BreconBeBuggered · 13/07/2015 21:49

Yes, thought Peter was coming back.

I hate it when they have characters talking at funerals once the service has started. Who does that?

Jo4040 · 13/07/2015 21:53

Yh it was rude when they all was talking loudly when the funeral started. Peter turns up later I think...zzzzzz

theliverpoolone · 13/07/2015 22:22

Sparkling Sam Kane was in Corrie years ago. I vaguely remembered him being really creepy and stalking an under-age girl - and just googled and it was Sarah when she was about 14 Shock

Sparklingbrook · 13/07/2015 22:24

Ooh was he? I didn't know that. Loved him in Brookie. I miss Brookie.

woodhill · 13/07/2015 22:29

thought he was in Corrie, also Peter in Brookside

woodhill · 13/07/2015 22:30

hairdresser Peter not stalker one

TheLastPickleInTheJar · 13/07/2015 23:13

Tracy's ex (after being introduced to Steve) "small world"
Steve "wouldn't want to Hoover it though" Grin

That and Liz's "well you are now" response to Eileen's "I thought i was your best friend" were the best things in today's episodes.

I did shed a tear but it was mainly due to looking at the lovely picture they had of Deirdre / Anne and feeling sad.

Agree that the callum/bethany/Sarah thing is so boring. Who cares? They don't seem to be bringing that story to a close yet more's the pity.

sweetgrape · 13/07/2015 23:39

The whole of the episode should have been devoted to Deirdre's funeral. What on earth did we want to see silly Sarah, Bethany and Callum for. Just pointless, and what school allows pupils to wear such heavy makeup as Bethany had on. Simon needs to go, his acting is awful.

DocHollywood · 14/07/2015 06:58

Because I'm only watching bits at the moment I'm getting bizarre continuity with Leanne and Liz's new man. One day she's giving him the evil eye and the next she's sheepishly avoiding him. I haven't a clue what's going on there (and frankly don't care). The same with Michael and Gail. He was ignoring her, then talking to her, now he's snapping her head off. I wish the lot of them would disappear in a proper minibus accident that set fire to a block of flats. They really don't know how to do disasters these days.

DocHollywood · 14/07/2015 06:59

Meant to add, I've emailed itv.com and told them to leave Sally and Tim alone! Grin

Sparklingbrook · 14/07/2015 07:05

I think Sarah and Bethany should go back to Italy. I also think Tracy's character has run its course. I don't know what else they can do with her TBH.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 14/07/2015 07:18

Yes, I remember the Sam Kane storyline, he internet groomed Sarah and lured her back to his house.

I came back for a couple of weeks but have lost interest again, haven't got round to watching Friday or Monday's episodes. Sarah, Bethany and Callum make me want to puke.

eddiemairswife · 14/07/2015 10:30

I wonder if Simon's and Amy's absences were authorised. Simon has already had a week off to go to France. I can't remember why.

sweetgrape · 14/07/2015 13:37

I thought Amy was awful speaking to the two professional mourners like that, and Steve just stood there saying nothing. Far too cocky for her age.

woodhill · 14/07/2015 14:17

yes she needed telling off, Steve is too weak.

I think kids in soaps are allowed to be like this e.g Bethany or Simon

Listmaker · 14/07/2015 14:20

Yes wasn't impressed with last night either and didn't find it remotely moving.

I wanted to mention how unlikely it is that middle aged ladies like Liz or even slightly younger ones like Tracy can both find new men only weeks after losing the last one all the time. That just doesn't happen in real life! At least it didn't when I was a single parent in my late 30s!!

And yes leave Sally and Tim alone!!

AgathaChristie01 · 14/07/2015 14:22

And Simon saying to Steve 'I thought you were supposed to be depressed'. Ugh.

sweetgrape · 14/07/2015 14:51

Simon is becoming painful to watch.

Sparklingbrook · 14/07/2015 15:27

YY get rid of Simon, I am sure he's a nice kid but he can't act and his character is surplus to requirements story wise.

AgathaChristie01 · 14/07/2015 15:36

I predict he will run and bury his head on Peter, when Peter (finally) arrives. Then he will want to go back with him. I will be saying to the tv, yes, Peter please please take him. But he won't, and Simon will then take out his temper tantrum on Leanne. I shudder to think how he will behave when he finds out about Leanne's past, which is inevitable, at this stage.

I still smile when I think of a scene where Amy was trying to pretend that Eccles had bitten her, and that Eccles would have to be put down. Deirdre arrived, Simon did his usual run, bury head act, Deirdre consoled him briefly then immediately went to check that Eccles was okay Grin

Sparklingbrook · 14/07/2015 15:53

It is time for the mini bus of doom to be deployed I think.

hildasmuriel · 14/07/2015 16:05

Where was Eccles?

Best bit was everybody singing because there was genuine emotion there but they should have had entire cast there and as many ex cast members as possible and spent the entire episode reminiscing about Deirdre, Brookside used to do flashbacks, they could have been used and it could have given viewers and cast time to mourn the character as well as the actress.
