Corrie Thread - Bet Emily is relieved there is one less child for her 24 hour creche

With Miley gone, never to be heard of for the next 15 years until she turns up with a new head, at least Emily won't have to babysit her every day and night for the foreseeable future.

New thread where we can hope the scriptwriters wake up and actually start paying attention to plot lines and character histories.

I can say, hand on heart, Sally and Tim scenes are about the only reason I watch Corrie at all, now, and I have watched Corrie for 35 years. Sad. It's one of the few things Corrie has going for it now.
I love Tim, and I love watching Sally revelling in a pure comedy role after all the dreary years of Kev and the girls, and cooking the same tea.
I also love the bromance between Kev and Tim, Grin.
If they go ahead with this, and possibly put Tim and Anna together, in the words of Dragons Den 'I'm out'...

sweetgrape · 12/07/2015 01:22

They don't like anyone to be too happy on the street. They probably will split Tim and Sally up and put him with the dreary Anna. Who the hell is writing these scripts lately. Need sacking.

differentnameforthis · 12/07/2015 03:22

They can't do that to Tim & Sally!! Kevin & Sally have separated & got back together so any times, it's rehashing more old story lines. They risk ruining two good relationships if they do get them back together.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 12/07/2015 06:42

Oh God, it is as if the writers have looked round and said "hang on, we haven't ruined everything about the show, there's still Tim & Sally", and then set about correcting that oversight.

Noooo! Not Sally and Tim. They're the best bit. I might have to consider giving up on Corrie if they do. Sad

hildasmuriel · 12/07/2015 07:55

I'm so upset about the Sally and Tim thing. They're just great together and everybody loves them. I do think this is driven by a desire to replace Ken and Deirdre as long standing couple with lots of history but actually they are spoiling something special. I am passionate about Coronation Street but I am losing patience. If they want a long standing couple with lots of history bring back Martin Platt! Or Jim from the Big House! Or Becky or Karen Macdonald but leave Sally and Tim alone!!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 12/07/2015 07:59

I love Sally and Tim ! A great example of how writers can rescue an awful storyline !
Have you heard Nick Grimshaw's Audrey Roberts remix? It's bloody brilliant

KenDoddsDadsDog · 12/07/2015 07:59

Do not bring back sighing Martin Platt Grin

Jo4040 · 12/07/2015 10:01

Mary should get pissed n sleep wiv Jason. Hes not slept with anyone for about two weeks has he?!

Sparklingbrook · 12/07/2015 10:03

I don't think there's one interesting family left is there?

AgathaChristie01 · 12/07/2015 10:34

No, and not even one interesting couple apart from Sally and Tim.
Alya and Garreh, yawn, Sinead and Ches, yawn again...

Kirk and Beth are quite good together, and I love Craig. They are the nearest thing to an interesting family that is left.

Wishful80sMontage · 12/07/2015 10:39

God I thought the producer had said he was really pleased with viewers reactions of Sally and Tim together so next obvious step is to crowbar them apart Hmm

Oh God, it is as if the writers have looked round and said "hang on, we haven't ruined everything about the show, there's still Tim & Sally", and then set about correcting that oversight this made me laugh but it's sadly accurate I'm ready to give up any day now- Anna and Tim combo would tip me over the edge why are they completely wrecking it?!

southeastdweller · 12/07/2015 11:13

wishful I also read that from the producer so I do think Kevin and Sally won't get back together...hopefully. I also think the Kevin character is tired now and that the actor who plays him should leave.

ssd · 12/07/2015 11:17

I used to b gutted if I missed an episode of corny, now I cant even be arsed to watch the catch up omnibus

Jo4040 · 12/07/2015 11:24

Let's all give the actor that plays Craige some credit...he plays the character wonderfully and when he comes on screen my attention to the programme immediately intensifies. Hes warm, charming and incredibly caring. Hes abit past the 'child actor' stage, so hopefully he will continue to be a little star for corrie

ssd · 12/07/2015 11:38

yes craigie's a star

Wishful80sMontage · 12/07/2015 12:06

Yeah Craig/Beth and Kirk are great but just don't get the screen time

eddiemairswife · 12/07/2015 12:26

I think there is a camping holiday coming up for Craig, Beth, Kirk etc. In the picture I saw of it Sinead was walking, but I'm sure the last time she was mentioned Sean was visiting her in hospital.

southeastdweller · 12/07/2015 12:29

That should be good viewing, even if Paddy McGuinness is in that story, playing himself again.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 12/07/2015 13:32

Paul the smelly trouser fireman just showed up in Casualty !

sweetgrape · 12/07/2015 13:41

I'd forgotten about the fireman, but why was he called smelly trousers? Grin

KenDoddsDadsDog · 12/07/2015 14:34

Someone said on this thread he looked like he had smelly trousers !

IHaveBrilloHair · 12/07/2015 14:47

If they must split up Sally and Tim, then I think they should pair him with Eileen, plenty of room for humour there, but Anna is dull and dreary.

sweetgrape · 12/07/2015 15:05

Oh right, he did too.Grin

AgathaChristie01 · 13/07/2015 11:21

Just reading previews of weeks to come. Poor Gail/ Helen Worth, they really have ruined her character, IMO.
