Just seen you vet comment and thought I'd share my horror story. 18 month old golden retriever decided to swallow 3 quite large pebbles. Got stuck in his guts. Emergency operation on sat afternoon of course out of hours so costs more. Estimate for op and one night in vets £2k. To cut a long story short went down hill after op, got peritonitis, rushed to intensive care and another major op to remove part of bowel, another week in hospital, feed tubes the lot. Insured for £7.5k. Final bill, wait for it, £11.5k. Ouch. No holiday this year and an isa cashed in. But he is worth it.

I'll start a petition woof. I'm sure it'll be cheaper than the NHS's HRT bill.

Onefor you just don't hesitate do you? I would be the same with my cats. Do it and count the cost later.

ilove totally and would do it again. I nearly hit a bloke at work who after a phone call from the vet saying dog only had 20% chance of surviving the peritanitis, said, wouldn't it be cheaper to put it to sleep and buy a new one!!

Anyway enough of that. Has anyone looked at MK's Twitter? It has so many tweets all about hello mag and every kind of make up under the sun. Don't know how she'll survive with all the grime make up and dust. But hey, for £250k, I'd get covered in elephant shit for 3 months!

onefor just read your post out to dp and am having to revive him. It will be interesting though how much the final bill is. Dp just blithely tucked all the optional treatment boxes (extensive blood tests, extra post treatment pain relief etc) but we both agree that our cat is the fifth member of the family and I hope we wouldn't stint on treatment for one of us humans. Remind me I said that when we get the bill

Humph, hearing that about MK's twitter musings has caused an upsurge in my sulk.

orphan yes most people don't believe we went through with it. The good news is he is now, after 4 long months, back up to weight and has his muscle tone back that completely wasted and the insurance premiums have only gone up by £10 per month.

orphan MK will have to go with it and get filthy ( as long as it isn't with CJ) otherwise she won't earn any credibility. I just thought about the Kinship Ff when molly asked if CJ had had flown a hairdresser out to Afgan. I'm sure she will have a crew just for her.

I can't remember for the life of me who he is supposed to be with next. Pretty useless tour manager I am at the moment!

I had a quick look at some of MK's blog. If she's so into makeup, creams, fashion and so on, how is she going to fare with combats, grime, dust and charging elephants? I'm not against her (just currently concerned about CJ/BA being in it) and at least she is quite a big name. Let's hope the BBC have more sense than to show it at the same time as an ITV crowd pleaser like the last series!

Maybe MK will bring enough extra viewers on board to get OG a third series - maybe one that will feature MD a few years down the line hopefully with CJ. I noted that in her statement about not signing up LT is reported as saying she couldn't be in this series. I'm sorry I can't remember who suggested that MK might be involved or married with kids (it's a great idea) whilst on this mission - but perhaps a relationship between MK and CJ could centre on that type of shared experience/empathy. By relationship I don't mean anything romantic. Maybe she could be drawn to someone else (not CJ) as I'm sure those type of extra-marital complications must occur in intense situations - although it doesn't have to turn into anything concrete, just demonstrate the difficulties that can happen - like any job.

As for the grime - well it is only make-up really so I don't suppose she'll mind. The sweat will probably be real unless they are filming in the UK and faking it in which case they'll be shivering in January. I think MK wants to be seen as a serious actress and fingers crossed she'll surprise us - or those words might come back to haunt me!

I love that idea Rhu, it would be fantastic if he really explored the family vs work in a situation like that.

I like that idea. Would make it different from Molly's story.

Knocked having been at work this morning and then gardening this afternoon. What's all this about MK twittering. Is she commenting on being in OG?

onefor shocked about the vets bill, but saying that we spent a fortune on Barney when he got into a cat fight. orphan you're right, they end up being another member of this family.

DH working tonight, DS1 Silver DoE, little one at friends over night, so it's a meal for one tonight.. Which so far is a glass of wine in the garden!

I am already falling into the trap of referring to MK and CJ. Had better start trying to use characters and refer to MK in OG as GL (Georgie Lane). Obviously MK couldn't have a relationship with CJ - goodness that would almost be like imagining that a group of real life women could be spending weekends away with a fictional character - as if!

Rhu that is a good story point you made there. I picked up on that in LT's statement that this series she couldn't do. My thinking then is imagine if there was a Series 3, LT could do it but BA had cracked Hollywood and couldn't do it! Typical. It would be lovely to see MD/CJ a few years down the line.

Still no word from BA then. Mm. Don't know if that's ominous or not.

I saw a friend last night and she told me she'd bought a dress from MK's Lipsy clothing line! She was nearly an ex-friend let me tell you.

Also funnily enough I was on MK's twitter too last night and it was all about the beauty and etc. I might sound harsh but she looks like she really loves herself!

Was just thinking this time last week it all kicked off about LT. Still cant believe it really.

I think I've sulked so much this week, I've realised that I'm never going to need fillers in my bottom lip.

Rich had a look at MK Twitter y'day and it was all about Hello magazine and make up solutions for every occasion/problem/breakout etc. no mention of OG for several days. Must be on some kind of kickback from Hello it go so many mentions. It takes a very confident women to have a photo of herself on Twitter in a very skimpy swim suit. Maybe I'm just envious of the body but def not all the fake stuff.

I saw an investigative documentary a while ago about Corrie stars getting lots of freebies and goodies from all kinds of companies for retweeting about their products etc. Mind you we don't necessarily know who is in charge of some of the accounts of well known people. We assume it's them but its probably publicists or someone like that. As for MK's photos well if you've got it flaunt it - I haven't and I can't!
