And again amazing that shabs is a carrier of cf - thought rare in her Ethanic group plus would that mean that both her parents would be carriers as well and that story line never came up when had they had 4th baby - a boy - a few years ago

just as dean is / and wouldn't Shirley got him tested after found out her first son had cf/died from it - so he would know if a carrier of it

All these 'pitying' looks from Stacey is doing my head in. I'm assuming they are bringing in Ramadan, Kush's 30th, no booze at engagement party purely to highlight how unsuited Kush is to Shabnam and how much better Stacey is for him.

Poor Shabnam. Her world really is going to come crashing down. It was so nice to see some lightheartedness in EE for a change.

Roxy annoys me more and more every episode. I cannot stand her. Axe her instead of Lola.

Agree that Shabnam wouldn't have screamed at Carmel, she'd have been bitching about her behind her back.

Oh ffs as if any living human being would want anything to do with shabnam. She's a vile horrible person with no redeeming qualities. Nasty and hypocritical, and always ready with a sneer, a lip curl an eye roll and an unkind word. I just cannot stand this character or the girl who (over)plays her. I can't get my head around this family any more. On the one hand they're meant to be a Muslim family and then we've also got extreme gambling, pregnancies, affairs, drinking. ...

Same with Dean. He's a thug and rapist but then the script writers also want us to feel sorry for him ??? Wtf.

I agree with everyone saying Ronnie and roxy are terrible characters and need to be axed.

I don't think EE writers need to deal with trivialities such as forged signatures standing blondes .

They said there would be a satisfying conclusion for Linda but no official justice. Other than everyone realising that she was telling the truth all along and Dean fucking off, I can't see what else it would be.

I think that Shirley realising he's been lying and she turns against him will be his comeuppance. Although I think they might go dark with the Roya/Jade story.

I'm very confused... So to be a carrier of CF both parents need to be carriers? So Zainab and Massood although very unlikely could be carriers I can understand.

But don't Dean and Jimbo have different dads? So we're meant to believe Shirl and Buster and Kevin are all carriers? How ridiculous!

I think that you only need one parent with the CF gene in order to be a carrier. Both need to have it for a child to have CF. There are 4 copies of the gene available to be passed on to a child so a child may inherit two faulty genes (has CF) one faulty gene and one healthy gene (carrier) or two healthy genes (healthy and not a carrier).

So Shirley must be a carrier and either Masood or Zainab. Both Dean and Shabnam must be carriers.

Although this is EE so it might be different :)

Had a quick google. If I've read correctly To be a carrier like shabs is - both parents must have the gene and pass it on - so zanib and masood are both carriers

All the Google examples only show what the children of two carriers are though.
