HiYa All Seem to have just missed the last two days action on here as someone suggested Dance the Tide - a 60 chapter P&P story - so kinda got into a 2 day reading fest - actually read all through the night, had to be asleep by 6am as alarms went off at 6.30am, so DH didn't know- totally exhausted!!! Anyway fantastic read!!

so now I see I've got a whole host of updates from the likes of whajeb& painted* jen Kelly not sure if I can manage another late nighter!!!

rhubarb sometimes I think there's no rhyme or reason as to how they decide what to recommission. Having watched W1A, I'm inclined to believe it was mostly factual!

BK I've not long finished dance the tide. It was epic, but I now feel slightly broken as a person after 60 LONG chapters in just over a week.

rhubarb really Frustrating that Home a Fires has been recommissioned. Not that I didn't like it as I do, but surely all the twitter, FB, radio times voting is a sure sign that a second series is in order for OG. Still wondering if it has anything to do with LT and her Eastenders committments?

I agree with lack of sense when it comes to commissioning rhubarb, it's very frustrating for viewers, especially when so many other programmes get the nod before they've even finished airing.

Welcome Dizzy!! I'm fairly new on here too but I think I'm 6 months behind everyone else as completely feel like OG just finished yesterday as I'm still needing decompression. Don't get me started with the lack of news or understanding about no decision re: OG being recommissioned. Seriously, I just don't understand the BBC sometimes. Its 8 months after it aired!! It was 9 months between the pilot and first series being commissioned so I think if there's no word by end of next month, I think it wont be happening. Aaah it kills me to say it.

I think it would be harder this time to get LT to sign up. When she did the pilot she had finished EE and it was arranged before she went back that she would make OG but would be harder now to film away from EE for 3-4 months. I really hope there is another series even if it's not got LT (sorry SPO) but does have BA in it

Do you think they will change the title? ... they could call it "Our Man" and then just have CJ in each scene?! Or just have a show with CJ on our screen for an hour each Sunday, probably doesn't matter too much what he does?!

Or do you reckon if LT can't/won't do it, they would focus on another "our girl" ... but then you couldn't have CJ as the love interest ..... well, I don't think so! Or they could just switch LT and have someone else play Molly, like they do in soaps!?!!?! Hmm ... must be a bit of a dilemma for TG ... don't envy him that to think on!

My understanding is that LT has a contract with the BBC, so she's not just tied to Eastenders, but can do other dramas for them. Obviously any other jobs would require her to be written out for a while, but I don't think it's unusual to book actors in for jobs well in advance . I've used the example of Rev before, the series was recommissioned but had to wait for a number of years before they could film because Tom Hollander and Olivia Coleman were all booked up.

I can wait for another series, I would just like to hear that TG was recommissioned to write another one even if filming was a way off

ice if there's another series and LT not in it OG title wouldn't be right would have to be different. What made the series for me, apart from the very good acting by all actors and the storyline, was the chemistry between MD/CJ.

Yip Kezia. That chemistry was unbelievable. That's my worry about BA getting booked up with other jobs. I wonder if the actors know anything from OG about what could be happening? Especially the ones who went to that reunion at Roundhouse the other week? I just don't think its fair BBC to keep waiting this long to hear anything or even if TG could tell us something but I suppose if he hasn't heard yet there's nothing to say.

It's so hard isn't it to imagine OG without LT and BA....

Ah I just couldn't imagine it. They have to come back!

Ice, have you heard anything about what BA's doing now as I think Lucky Man finished filming or any new pics of him?

It certainly wouldn't be the same without them both in it ... but the first series was SO good, that it's also difficult to see where TG would take it next. Guess we'll just have to wait out and see what happens, if we ever do hear whether it has been recommissioned.

You may not hear from me for quite a while as I've just started reading the Dance the Tide story and am hooked. I'm on a bit of a reading spree at the moment. Having polished off Mysterious Miss Mayhew which I really do recommend, I'm reading Who's Afraid of Mr Wolfe by the same author. She's def got a good line in comic innuendo. Ooh and Mr Wolfe is rather delicious.

Thanks anyway for looking. Ah its so desperate without news. Plus my friend's borrowed my Our Girl DVD to go on holiday with. She's sick of me going on about it that she's eventually going to watch it!

Anyway random fact. I've kind of got a tenuous link to BA.
BA's filming Lucky Man with James Nesbitt. And I met James Nesbitt years ago in a bar down on the N/Cle Quayside. It was when Cold Feet was out and I was a massive fan. He was very drunk and surrounded by women.

Heehee Yes, I know. I think the earth moved on its axis a bit when I agreed to that. But hopefully another CJ converter can only be a good thing.

For me I wouldn't mind if they bought BA /LT back in any of the brilliant ff stories, OG related or not, it's all about the chemistry. Perhaps they'd like to start with Seeking Asssistance .

Dizzy. Have you read Involved by Jen. That is a great read. It took me like 3 weeks to do any housework as its was just amazing QS and had to re-read!

Ooh Kelly your story reminds me of Chris Evan's Top Tenuous every day.

I've just been off working my way though Spooks on Netflix and can inform anyone interested that in Series 2 episode 8 Tom (aka Matthew Macfadyen) is undercover in the army and wears Khaki combats for almost the entire episode - they are not low slung, sorry to say. Also in Episode 9 Santiago Cabrera appears although he looks much better in The Musketeers and Merlin.
