Did anyone else wonder where their last 10 years went last night? Caught it by accident (way past my bedtime), then was glued. God, that was part of my life - young, single, City wine bars every night... Now I just feel old, married and staying home every night with a baby.....! How DID that happen?

Ooh, what time was that on? I used to love that - although will probably make me feel old and past it too!

After Newsnight. Double episodes. And unfortunately the dog ate the video so I can't record it. Maybe I should just buy the dvds.

This is one of my all time favourite programmes although watching it again did make me scared about how much time has passed and how "grown up" i am now! There is an xmas special coming too so we can see what has happened to them. I even called my dog Ferdy in tribute to my This Life Addiction.

LOL Yossa - dog called Ferdy.

Ditto everyone's comments - makes me feel old that it was 10 yrs ago - remember watching it in my digs drinking cheap cider from Spar...

Am also greatly looking forward to the Xmas special.

Annoyed that they've put it on so late for us knackered thirty-somethings with kids under 5 who flake out at 10. I've got the 1st series on video but not the 2nd so was looking forward to seeing it. Must remember to programme the video on Monday.

BTW How far has it gone? Was it the first two episodes this week?

Apparently there's a NEW Christmas special, which is why they're re0running the series.

Report
yossa · 08/11/2006 21:40

they are showing 2 episodes a night mon to thurs. doesn't start until 11.20 though so i normally fall asleep before the first one has finished. have them all on video somewhere, although never get to watch them as ds2 (2.5) insists on watching wheels on the bus every spare minute! i must remember who is the adult in this house :-)

We've been watching this too, god, ds was a baby when I watched it first time and I was a sahm bored out of my head so I went to local video (this was more or less before dvd mind!) shop and rented the whole series and watched it back to back in the daytime.

BoingBoing · 12/11/2006 09:18

I can't wait for the Christmas special. Maybe they're all married with babies, with the 2 girls becoming SAHMs. Unlikely, I suspect! Although I can't see any of them lasting the course and being happily settled. Some prog that would be.

I'm really enjoying it too but I am astounded at how wooden some of the acting is and some of the script is dire. It is also funny to see the follow around the room type of camera work that was what made it seem so modern and edgy when it was first shown.

I'm watching this too - can't believe the first series was originally on before I had any children [shock}. We have been having a good laugh at the HUGE mobile phone Delilah has!

I wasn't "allowed" to watch it the first time it was on (ex-bf was a cucking funt) so I'm really enjoying it..

...except DH says he realises he married me now because my attitude is so like Anna's and he had a big thing for her back then

oh flip this reminds me of my mis -spent youth. Everyone used to say at the time i was just like Anna( now watching it I feel a bit sick thinking how true it was)
Can't wait to see how their lifes turned out 10 years on. Will Anna be married with kids living in a rural backwater with no money?- like me!!!

I watched this last night and was so nostalgic where the hell did the last ten years go? they were some of the best in my life!

Anna married with kids and broke in a rural backwater? PMSL! Can't see it. By rights she should probably still be carrying on with all her old bad habits, although I'm not sure I picture her as a successful barrister.

Miles on the other hand will be the total cliche of a successful barrister about to take Silk, a beautiful, perfect wife & kids and bored out of his effing skull doing drugs and being randomly unfaithful. Oooh, queue re-hash of the Anna thing.

Egg & wotsername. hmmm. Not sure. But I bet he's still a waster and she's still deeply annoying and prissy. I hope she's got a haircut too, as all that swishing of perfect bob got really really annoying.

Ahh, those were the days....... but I did fancy Miles, and thought it a crying shame he lost out to Orlando Bloom in the woo-ing of Keira Knightly in the pirate thing. What WAS she thinking?!
