Did anyone else wonder where their last 10 years went last night? Caught it by accident (way past my bedtime), then was glued. God, that was part of my life - young, single, City wine bars every night... Now I just feel old, married and staying home every night with a baby.....! How DID that happen?

perhaps it will be cancer - like a kind of aids analogy but not doing the whole aids thing.

I would love it to be some kind of glamourus jet ski type thing but think that they have the talent for normalising rather than sensationalising life. I bet it will be what you least expect.

There is something a bit too giggly-silly-boyishness about Egg. IN teachers he was fab but in this life he was soo asexual!

So who do you reckon hs children?

housemum · 25/11/2006 13:40

Would be good to see stuck-up Miles saddled with kids with Vicki-Pollard style girl he picked up when drunk!!

If Millie has kids she will be some kind of pushy Mum, with nanny taking them to at least 2 Kumon/violin/horseriding/tennis/French/gym classes every single day and no non-organic food to pass their lips (they'd have to stand and be frisked when they came out of friends' parties).

(Just because he was fanciable doesn't mean he wasn't up his own backside sometimes!)

chocolatemummy · 25/11/2006 13:45

cant be arsed to read the thread but are we imagining a follow up series

housemum · 25/11/2006 17:16

like your honesty! there's going to be a one-off special at the end of the year, someone did pass on the info about one event they'd read about, so don't go down further if you don't want a "spoiler"!

There have been vague musings and ramblings about what might happen in it.

DimpledThighs · 25/11/2006 18:19

I love your Millie housemum.

Maybe Miles is with Rachel and she is a true colour bitch - I bet he shags Anna in the special.

Bet Anna has done the best of all career-wise, but is that too predictable.

Maybe Millie is with a decripied O'Donnell changing his catater mid service.

Egg could be with that cafe girl.

Hope Warren comes adn ends up shagging the plumber bloke - or with some Honey with two cats and loads of money.

ameli · 28/11/2006 23:03

love the way millies charachter is developing, she is totally losing that cool calm exteria and thats great to see.

donnie · 01/12/2006 13:59

we are taping them every night and watching them next evening!! great stuff.

I can't bear O Donnell, something about the way he over pronounces his words makes me cringe. The character I love is Kelly the receptionist- so funny " Lanzarote - where's that then?" CLASS !!!

drosophila · 01/12/2006 14:07

but Millie's head always leaning to one side annoys me.

donnie · 01/12/2006 14:23

me too - someone send her a neck brace!!

BoingBoing · 02/12/2006 14:43

SPOILER FROM TODAY'S TELEGRAPH MAGAZINE

Miles is now a 'self made millionaire'
Anna is a 'succesful lawyer'
Milly & Egg are 'married with a son'
Miles appears to have an oiriental wife of some description

Haven't read the article yet, so I'll post more later!

kylester · 04/12/2006 21:41

hello all... it's sooo good to see that other people have found this on so late.
brings back such good memories - ferdy - yum yum!!!

housemum · 10/12/2006 00:17

Just been trying to catch up with the stack of episdes on the Sky box - I'm sure I don't remember hating the characters so much!! Always wanted to smack Rachel, but Millie is soooo uptight, Miles is just a w**ker, O'Donnell a sleazebag. Why didn't I see it back then? Was I up my own behind too...?

Spidermama · 10/12/2006 00:22

My dh was down to the last two in auditions for the part of Egg. He didn't get it. Consequently I was unable to watch This Life as it has joined the lengthy list of the-ones-that-got-away which would have paid our mortgage.

What do you think of Egg btw? I think he's a shite actor but, as you'll appreciate, I'm biased.

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 10/12/2006 00:25

spidamama, thought it was just our house with a long long list of progs to boycott. nice to know someone else in same boat. you have my sympathy! i think you're right about egg btw. he's annoying and not very good.

Spidermama · 10/12/2006 00:31

ECALM thank you for agreeing with me about Egg. Is your feller an actor too then? It's a tough old life being married to one isn't it?

housemum · 10/12/2006 00:35

Egg is pretty much like his name. Like you'd give scrambled eggs to someone who's ill because they're not bad but not likely to cause offence - a safe but dull option. Be relieved that your dh was not safe-but-dull!

Was watching Mark Kermode talking films on BBC2 the other day and saying how he'd like to punch everyone who is in the film The Holiday as it's pants so can take perverse pleasure in fact that dd did not get picked for child-in-pushchair-looking-at-Jude-Law!! (She was in last 3) That'll be our one-that-got-away for years!

Spidermama · 10/12/2006 00:36

I hope she's too young to take it personally housemum.

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 10/12/2006 00:37

writer. poss worse (or seems that way today!). dunno, close thing i think. the rejection thing is a pita - i think that must be similar for both groups. dh hates all drama cos he hasn't written it. he also hates what he has written because it's not what he wants to be writing...

Spidermama · 10/12/2006 00:41

God very similar. DH hates all drama because it's crap - which is true (apart from the stuff your dh writes if course), but would still leave a family holiday in Cornwall for the day (real life case) to go to a Holby audition.

Still, their big breaks are just around the corner eh? Let's face it we have better odds than the lottery so hang on in there.

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 10/12/2006 00:42

housemum - think that's a bit rich coming from mark kermode - how punchable is he?! quite a funny interview with rufus sewell in the guardian yesterday about being an actor. even he can't get the parts he wants!

Spidermama · 10/12/2006 00:43

Yes. Mark Kermode. The man who convinced me it was a good idea to take my dad and the kids to a Sponge Bob Squarepants film And I trusted him. Well, never again.
