By the way, should we be concerned about CJ? He's supposed to be with Lola but we've not had a peep out of her. Do you think she's taken him prisoner on that boat of hers?

orphan · 16/05/2015 18:08

Blimey painted that 3rd pic is def a stag in full rutting mode, bellowing like that. Which reminds me of course of CJ during the kilt fitting...richtea blowing on the pipes (I forgot to mention her musical skills) really seemed to raise his testerone levels and he was a magnificent sight to behold.

Lovely cat ilove (was sooo tempted to do a Mrs Slocombe Grin). Ours has brought 2 mice in today; one had to be humanely dispatched and the other lived to see another day, but hopefully not near our house.

Off out tonight to a friend's so don't have too much fun without me everyone!

Rhubarb01 · 16/05/2015 18:12

I have to say that the mention of Olga Korbut made me take a look at her old routines on you tube. Although they didn't contain the technical difficulty that today's gymnasts have, the artistry and grace was beautiful. The floor routine really is like ballet with some tumbling. I imagine that yours was something similar woof just including balls!

Onlygirljen · 16/05/2015 18:18

I've heard woof's ball work is second to none Grin

orphan · 16/05/2015 18:38

Absolutely jen. Spectators marveled at the sheer number of balls woof could keep in play at one time. She never let one slip from her grasp.

orphan · 16/05/2015 18:40

Of course in her prime woof was the Olga Korbut of her day, or was it the Ronnie Corbett? Confused

Rhubarb01 · 16/05/2015 18:52

So from what you're saying Olga was ballet with some tumbling and woof was ballet with some fumbling!

icemistOBE · 16/05/2015 18:53

Just spat my drink out at jens comment!

Just watching the Liverpool game... So emotional. I feel like one of my children are leaving home.

moojangles · 16/05/2015 20:14

Can I just mention that bowling & low slung in a non-builder way jeans is a good combination

cjwoofwoof · 16/05/2015 21:31

I think more Matthew than Ronnie, orph as I always seemed to have my hand up things in those days. Have a great night out but avoid those ping pong tricks you do after one too many port and lemons

Ilovelblue · 16/05/2015 22:06

Rhubarb and orphan Oscar is a rescue cat. He was found in a skip as a kitten with his littermates, all suffering from cat flu. I got him when he was about three months old. My other cat was wonderful with him, a real father figure! This is him. He's called Bertie and the best mouser in the area!

Richtea19 · 17/05/2015 01:04

ice sorry you lost the game :( although DH won a super bet and paid out big time so I'm happy.

Had a super day today. DH took me up the Shard! Feel a bit naughty saying that!!! Another night I've drunk too much, will have to have a dry week.

Richtea19 · 17/05/2015 01:07

ilove Carlos was our mouser. We lost him last year :( but Barney our new tabby kitten has taken over. Shrews, field mice, and the occasions baby rat!!!

Ilovelblue · 17/05/2015 07:31

Richtea if orphan xan't interpret going up the Shard as a euphemism, she doesn't deserve her Order of the Euphemism award! Did you enjoy it?

Thankfully no rats but dozens of mice last year and several full sized pigeons. Where do they find all the mice???

Onlygirljen · 17/05/2015 07:59

Morning all! ice, know what you mean re Stevie G, the man is a legend. Shame they lost the game.

Going to visit my friend's new baby for a cuddle today, can't wait! Wonder if there will be another TG Sunday tweet today..

Onlygirljen · 17/05/2015 08:05

rich hope you enjoyed getting taken up the shard. sniggers

Richtea19 · 17/05/2015 08:54

Morning all, jen enjoy your cuddle. My niece is pregnant which is exciting, the first baby in our family.

The Shard was brilliant. We picked the perfect evening as the weather was beautiful. They don't rush you. You can spend as much time as you like up there.

nickel of you've managed to find wifi, hope you're having fun and the little bleeders aren't driving you mad!

orphan · 17/05/2015 08:55

Morning (just typing it makes my head ache - too much wine last night)

Ooh, Saturday nights sound fun in your household rich! Was it your first time? We tend to save such experiences for holidays - I've been taken up the duomo in Florence. (Well worth it)

pixieg1rl · 17/05/2015 09:54

Bah, no one has ever taken me up anything, not even the blackpool tower.

I came down with DSs latest lurgy and spent yesterday in bed. I'm a bit more human today, but I predict we'll be watching lots of films today as I lie on the sofa feeling crappy.

Ilovelblue · 17/05/2015 10:56

orphan I went to Florence last October and we climbed up the Campanile and looked over to tbe Duomo. Decided I wasn't too unfit as wadn't totally wiped out when we got to the top - 748 steps I think.

I was proposed to at the top of the Eiffel Tower a good few years ago and didn't accept immediately. Considering the man in question is now the very ex Mr Ilove, maybe I should have gone with my original thoughts!!

pixie I had a weird bug/cold about 10 days ago which is only just going. Is yours the same?

Paintedcherryblossoms · 17/05/2015 11:07

Good Morning had a rare lie in this morning and was brought coffee and toast by my DH in bed. Been away most of the week with work I think he has missed me ! So today we are making a little space in the garden to remember our dog, my DS picked out some little trees and shrubs yesterday at the garden centre he has planned a little funeral bless him (we received his homemade invites earlier in the week and ashes came back from the vet a couple of days ago) He is a sensitive soul will enjoy it while it lasts. Teenage years are on the way Smile

rich going up the Shard is always a pleasure especially if you can fit in a cheeky "cock" tail in the bar afterwards Grin

ilove not a cat person but could make an exception for Oscar he looks like a mighty fine feline

pixie maybe give some of the old classics a go on your film day, can't beat the oldies

I can't keep up with the dynamic comedy duo of woof and orphan I would just end up being that person that laughs far too long after the joke doesn't mean I am not appreciating it in my own little private universe though.

Stevie G is the nuts it's a great pity he is off to do a Beckham in the states

Off to pay my respects after that long lounging in bed ramble have a good day everyone Smile

Richtea19 · 17/05/2015 11:37

painted your DS sounds adorable. What a lovely tribute.

pixie sorry your feeling unwell, although the excuse to lay on the sofa and watch movies would be good! I've still no voice, one of my doctors at work said nothing I can do other than rest it... That's not going to happen!

The shard was a birthday present for DH and we went with another couple. Well worth it especially with a "cocktail"!!!

orphan · 17/05/2015 11:42

Typical. Just as I manage to cajole and muster the troops to go out for lunch and a jaunt, the sun goes in and flipping grey clouds roll in...Sad

On a completely unrelated note, dd is reading Little Women and it started me thinking of books I loved as a child. Did anyone (and I'm thinking the older amongst us probably) read the Lorna Hill 'Sadlers Wells' books? I fell in love with Sebastian in it who was a temperamental composer type. Moody, bossy and posh. Clearly a template for my later crushes.

pixieg1rl · 17/05/2015 11:44

I think it might be another bout of tonsillitis, hopefully not as bad as the last one.

I wish I had the choice of the films. Unfortunately it's strictly DSs choice, so Planes 2 and Frozen Sad

SoEverybodyDance · 17/05/2015 11:49

good morning everybody...

Was that a foursome up the shard then Richtea?!

Orphan didn't read the Sadler's Well books but did rediscover Ballet Shoes recently by Noel Streatfield which I loved as a child.
