Corrie Thread - How many more people can they fit into the Platts' Elastic House?

I'm ready for Bethany to bugger off back to Italy now.

If she could take Les Dennis, Michelle, Tracey-Luv, Jazz-Hands, Chesney, Sinead, the chicken man and his entire family, and Rita I would be very grateful.

I don't think child and baby seats have been invented on corrie yet.

differentnameforthis · 09/05/2015 10:14

I think they are waiting to bring Kylie back...I hope that evil David comes back them too & whoops Callum's arse!

I don't understand why he is being so timid!! He wanted to kill (and almost succeeded) his own brother!!

And we have just seen the bit where Andy/Gavin gets busted hiding the drugs...does Callum's female 'sidekick' remind anyone else of Vicky Pollard?

Corrie Thread - How many more people can they fit into the Platts' Elastic House?
AgathaChristie01 · 09/05/2015 12:02

^^ yes, re Vicky Pollard. I'd be more scared of Emily and Norris than of Callum and his 'gang'.
I wish David would turn on his evil side, and get rid of Callum.

southeastdweller · 09/05/2015 12:18

I can feel a rant coming on...

I am so sick and tired of the Platt family. It was such a mistake bringing back Bethany and Sarah but if they're staying then the writers need to start giving Bethany more depth because she's currently like a cartoon version of a stroppy schoolgirl. And Kylie is back soon, one of the most unlikeable characters in any soap at the moment.

If the writers want me to feel sorry for Mary, then sorry but I don't. You use council services, pay for council tax and don't be a parasite.

I don't feel invested in Billy and Sean as a couple as it feels that they got together too soon so him giving up his vocation story is not at all engaging to me.

I read a spoiler on Digital Spy about Erica which I won't reveal but am annoyed about a future story involving her.

Housemum · 09/05/2015 12:41

It's taken far too long for the council to catch up with Mary, but stunned they came out on a Bank Holiday! And where does she empty her chemical toilet??
Agree that Billy will be offered a job on the street as no one is able to work elsewhere! In reality, wouldn't he be more likely to look into e.g. social work, that kind of thing? Or consider actually standing up for himself against the mystery homophobic bishop?

eddiemairswife · 09/05/2015 13:45

I'm really irritated about the mystery location of Mary's van. Last week she was washing it, and it was facing the Rovers'. According to an overhead photo of the set it would be between the side of Sally's and the back wall of the salon. But that can't be the permanent position (Sally would have complained years ago!) and it wasn't there when Sally was in her deckchair guarding the Banksie. Last night before it was towed it was facing a completely unknown rather old-fashioned shop.

OneEyedWilly · 09/05/2015 13:52

I keep waiting and waiting for Psycho David to rear his ugly head and give Callum the kind of retribution that he would anyone else who's saws with him like this, but every time I think it's about to happen he flops!

GetHappy · 09/05/2015 16:22

southeastdweller I agree with you about the digital spy spoiler ....

AgathaChristie01 · 09/05/2015 20:49

southeast I agree completely with all your points.

I read that spoiler too about Erica.

SymphonyofShadows · 09/05/2015 22:31

Agree with everything, the only good thing is the dog

Pyjamaramadrama · 11/05/2015 10:39

I actually feel really sorry for David and I'm liking the character. I wish he'd toughen up and sort Callum out.

I hope they don't start turning Callum into a nice guy who gets Max, he should get his comeuppance.

Hate Sarah she needs to go.

SymphonyofShadows · 11/05/2015 10:53

Yes, where is psycho David?

millimat · 11/05/2015 11:23

I feel sorry for David as well.

poorbuthappy · 11/05/2015 20:57

What the hell was all that about? Bins???

southeastdweller · 11/05/2015 20:59

I didn't understand the bins thing either - were they a metaphor for something? Confused

Ladytron · 11/05/2015 21:08

On the plus side, no Platts tonight Grin
Wouldn't you have googled Travis/IoM/northern pubs? I would have, but then I'm nosey.

southeastdweller · 11/05/2015 21:11

That's another thing - how thick are Steve, Liz, and Michelle? It's common sense, isn't, it to research an obscure company you were selling half your pub to! But hey, this is Weatherfield...

AnneEyhtMeyer · 11/05/2015 21:18

They don't seem to have the internet in Weatherfield.

I can't believe Corrie won an award at the BAFTAs (that wasn't Most Shit Storyline). Bit of a kick in the teeth for the other shows they were up against.

southeast - I think you're right. Bins as a metaphor for the standard of scriptwriting.

OP posts:
TheLastPickleInTheJar · 11/05/2015 21:37

I enjoyed tonight. I liked the chit chat between Emily and Mary and everyone getting confused about the bins. I wonder if Tim will get his £50 back. I thought it made a pleasant change from all the utterly unenthralling Platt drama of late.

I thought the same about the googling of Travis Ltd though. It's the first thing people do these days isn't it? That must get revolved before the money changes hands. I really don't want Tracy Luv running the pub.

southeastdweller · 11/05/2015 21:38

Bins as a metaphor for the standard of scriptwriting

Grin

This thread is more entertaining than Corrie!

DocHollywood · 11/05/2015 21:41

Ok, my threat about never watching again hasn't materialised! Agree about researching Travis. Also I wondered if the name will ring a bell with Eileen's family and save the day. Otherwise I can't think of a good reason to tell them all individually about the deal. Also why does Tony want to bring Liz's world crashing down? As far as I can see, the family have been welcoming to Tony and yet he's prepared to piss all over them without any qualms.
I thought the Bring and Buy sale was quite humorous when they all ended up with each other's stuff. And for a moment I thought Mary was going to be allowed a romance. I'd like to see Mary with someone.

southeastdweller · 11/05/2015 21:47

I agree that the BAFTA Corrie win was undeserved. EE has been excellent over the past twelve months and should have won.

eddiemairswife · 11/05/2015 22:28

Why isn't Faye back at school or at a unit for young mothers? I think Anna is being a bit hard on her.

GetHappy · 11/05/2015 23:20

Loved it when Mary called Emily "Ems"

AnguaResurgam · 11/05/2015 23:44

"Why isn't Faye back at school or at a unit for young mothers?"

Because her baby is less than 6 weeks old. Even though the aim is to get young mothers back into education as soon as possible, it doesn't happen that quickly. (And as a concealed pregnancy, so no plan made could be made in advance).
