I'm ready for Bethany to bugger off back to Italy now.

If she could take Les Dennis, Michelle, Tracey-Luv, Jazz-Hands, Chesney, Sinead, the chicken man and his entire family, and Rita I would be very grateful.

Well it must have been good as I felt stressed just watching that- but no where near enough people trying to get out.

Why are there no other residents in the flats?

Why on earth didn't Liz tell Tracey about the fire until Tracey came over to Victoria Court? I didn't think that rang true - I know Liz is angry but as one mother to another, it seems out of character (but in keeping with the recent crap writing).

What a stressful episode?

I hope they survive, especially Amy. They can't kill Amy! traumatised

I'm all for disasters but it's a small one/two bed flat guessing one as Carla sleeping on sofa. You have a smoke alarm that didn't go off until you can hardly breath!
Given they could have walked out flat in 10secs.... And would rather stand there having argument about if any is going to walk or not. Karl should have just picked her up. Such short space it took them about 4 steps walking slowly.

We said exactly the same about the lack of other residents. Where were they?

Hadn't noticed the fact that Carla was asleep while everyone else was still awake. To be honest, there are so many plot holes in Corrie that you just get used to them.

Just read that Sean has signed another 12 month contract. How is that possible? He must know where the bodies are buried.

also wouldn't Leanne have called the fire brigade in the first placeand where were the other residents, bordering on ridiculous.

Kal and Leanne should have grabbed Amy, is there no outside fire escape

The acting was dreadful.

I was annoyed by the Amy thing too, ffs there are some times when a punch to the jaw and a quick fireman's lift is appropriate.

Re Carla sleeping, she's worked very hard in the run up to the wedding and was drinking champagne with Michelle in the morning. She was maybe just knackered!

Yeah was a bit rubbish. As you say why didn't she dial 999?! And the fire engine taking for ever, Carla fast asleep at like 9pm...Kal taking a lifetime to get a ring, it so smoky one minute that Carla collapses yet Leanne can get back in and FAFF about getting Amy etc etc...

And yes just read about bloody Sean. He is so crap . Poor decision!

Ok, so Carla could be tired, but how on Earth would Tracy know that if she broke into her flat in the evening she would have a good chance of finding her asleep to kill her?

What a laughably bad episode. I think all the characters need some basic fire safety advice - i.e. call the fire brigade prior to trying to break a door down with a fire extinguisher, don't all rush into a burning building like lemmings, don't dither and hover around inside a burning building, etc. In real life, most of these people wouldn't have survived to adulthood due to their pure stupidity

So unrealistic! I was beginning to think that Nick and Carla were the only tenants until a few random people were pictured running downstairs about 20mins after the alarm started. From the publicity pictures for future episodes it looks as if the whole block goes up in flames, but I thought that in modern buildings individual flats were designed so that fires were contained within each unit.

Tracy saw the lights in Carla's flat go out before she let herself in, though I'll agree she didn't leave it very long afterwards. But hey, it's soapland! Given Tracy's previous murder conviction came from stoving in her man's head with a heavy ornament, you'd have thought she'd have a more imaginative way of killing Carla...

It all peeved me. Leanne at outer door trying to remember code... ring ALL the bells, alert the neighbours. The whole trotting along to Carla's apartment, but not thinking to bang on next door to raise alarm, and her and Kal dithering over "what is blocking door" .... he is always at gym, surely between him and Leanne they'd shove a 9 year old out of the way.
Not to mention Michael's ridiculous phone call to Gail and Gandy's "my name? " "it's Gavin"

I am only on page 7, and am also a bit behind with my recorded episodes, but if this hasn't come up yet - does anyone know the answers to these questions?

Isn't Todd Bethany's father? And if so, how come no one has mentioned it and there haven't been any scenes with the two of them? Also Eileen is her grandmother…again nothing mentioned.

Also, is Deirdre still supposed to be staying away somewhere? I know the actress sadly died, but no mention of the character has been made ever again as far as I can tell… the Barlows never mention her…

I would be most grateful if someone could shed some light...

Bethany isn't Todd's daughter. Her dad was someone from school I think who subsequently died in an accident. I agree about Deirdre - no mention at all about her.

I wish they would get some more ideas for these big dramatic scenes. Too may fires and the plots are always full of holes. And where is Tony? He presumably has no idea that Tracey has told Liz so why isn't he back? He has left all his stuff behind too.

Tony will know, because Liz left a message on his phone. Even if Carla was drunk and in a deep sleep the fire-alarm would surely have woken Amy.

Yes but he didn't turn up for hours before she left that message. And he owns half the Rovers so she can't kick him out.
