Oh ice what a gorgeous boy you have! So lovely with his haircut - I can never bring myself to get mine haircuts - the youngest has masses of thick curls and I can't bear to cut them!!

I've pulled my head out my backside after an evening of feeling sorry for myself last night. Found out today that my good friend, who has been struggling for a couple of years to conceive, has just had her third miscarriage at the 9 week mark. Devastating, and has reminded me that people have far worse problems than their kids failing to sleep at night.

ilove hope the afternoon has gone well and that awkward questions were avoided. So good of you to have him and spare the awkwardness of having him in his home while stuff was packed up - what a difficult situation.

Looking forward to the wedding (a fortnight today) and CJ finally in his kilt!

And BK don't worry, I won't abandon our Molly and CJ in Canada, I will try and tie it up the best I can, don't want to let down anyone who is still reading!

pixieg1rl · 25/04/2015 18:04

Has CJ been despatched my way yet? He's not turned up yet, MrP has had to manfully put up a bit of trellis all by himself.

Thanks jen

Hubby has passed his curlyish hair to. Both boys, but littlest is rather curly. I now have an envelope of his hair (best not lose his)

pixie BK collected CJ at lunchtime from me but it is quite a journey over to your side of the country from here with no real easy route. I suspect CJ might get a little frustrated at the length of time it takes, especially if BK decides on a detour. Stay focused, he'll turn up soon!

My friend's little boy and CJ hit it off straightaway. They got the stepladders out and climbed into the apple tree pretending it was a lookout post. Then when it started to rain, we came in to make cakes and the pair of them were fighting over who licked the spoon at the end! To be fair, CJ did let him win but had a few licks himself before conceding defeat!

Ilovelblue · 25/04/2015 18:39

Great ff update Whajeb. Absolutely loving Kinship, I adore the gentle build up. It makes my insides turn all gooey!

In RL, I did really make cakes with the little boy as it's not really something he does at home. Pity there was no RL CJ to fight with over the spoon licking! He knows he's moving house next weekend but Daddy was never mentioned really and he doesn't seem to think it's odd that Daddy is going to live with Grandma and Granddad for a while. We went to a museum this afternoon - the photo is on my phone so I will send it through separately - it's pertinent to our current CJ discussions!!!!

Jen I think I've said I raise funds for a local children's hospice, mainly in work but obviously do stuff like growing for the plant sale in my spare time at home. When you go to a place like the hospice and see terminally ill children who can still have a smile on their face, it's a bit like your friend having a miscarriage and you realise most of your problems are nothing in comparison with what some people have to deal with. A bad day at work is just small fry when you think of their problems.

Ilovelblue · 25/04/2015 18:47

My friend's son thought it hilarious that a soldier would wear a kilt. He's used to seeing men in kilts when he stays at his grandparents' apartment in Edinburgh too (which is where I will be staying).

Evening all

Some soldiers out and about today, not one sign of low slung combats at all Sad

If you've got time, read this article I mentioned in today's Telegraph. It would apply equally to our favourite modern military captain.

www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/11560960/What-will-we-do-when-Poldark-is-over.html

pixieg1rl · 25/04/2015 22:10

After a lovely afternoon pottering in the garden (a bit sunburnt, whoops), putting DS to bed the rain started. I'd just got him down when there was a knock at the door. A soaking wet CJ stood on my doorstep with his Bergen, he'd walked from the nearest bus route (8 miles away) in the rain. Such devotion. He's a bit stiff so I whisked him upstairs to ease his tension with a hot bath.

Ilovelblue · 25/04/2015 22:22

Glad he's turned up pixie but am a little worried why he had to walk so far. Do we know what happened to BK? She won't be broken down at the side of the road somewhere?

icemistOBE · 25/04/2015 22:28

And the answer to the telegraphs question is.... Talk incessantly on a Internet forum, send the actor in question birthday and Christmas cards and when you've done all that have the character visit your household Grin

Excellent answer ice. Do you think we should respond to the reporter and explain we are 6 months on after OG and have survived to tell the tale? Is there a corresponding Poldark thread on here as well?

It's quiet on here tonight. pixie is obviously in the bath with CJ and Nickel will be preparing for his visit tomorrow but where's everyone else?

icemistOBE · 25/04/2015 22:43

There is a Poldark thread. Wanted to comment but couldn't see where I could

Dear pixie and Ilove what a day ...the old trusty land rover decided to pack up and even after a bit of 'put some bloody effort into it' pushing it wasn't going to shift it! Had to give CJ some mission instructions re getting himself to you!
Glad to hear that he followed them to the letter!! A hot bath would have been a real treat, but I am now holed up undercover in central London ready for the marathon handover tomorrow...located in the area of The Mall!! There has been rumours of some fishy activity in the area, but all undercover agents are armed with nets and tridents for checking overstuffed chairs!!! See you tomorrow pixie and nickel

Richtea19 · 26/04/2015 06:23

Morning all, about to head off to London for the marathon. Pixie I'm going to located on Birdcage Walk... Look out for horsey/fishey/tool belted boulders..... I will be the one looking glamorous in my raincoat ready for CJ. DH can take MIL home and we might just slip off for some afternoon delight at the Dorchester!!

Onlygirljen · 26/04/2015 07:19

Morning ladies. Fell asleep with the youngest in his bed last night when having cuddles, wiped out the entire evening. Probably needed it, was knackered! Looks like it was quiet on here last night.

Glad CJ has finally arrived at his destination. rich if you're picking him up and whisking him to the Dorchester for afternoon delight, I hope there's nothing under that raincoat! Grin Just don't stand too close to the MIL!

Onlygirljen · 26/04/2015 07:24

PS pixie, why do I get the feeling that the bath won't have done much to eliminate the stiffness? Wink And brilliant update btw.

pixieg1rl · 26/04/2015 07:44

I worked diligently on getting rid of the stiffness, but it kept on coming back. Wink

Thanks, better get a move on with chapter 3.

Ilovelblue · 26/04/2015 08:12

Richtea are you kidnapping CJ? It's Nickel's turn next.... you're on next weekend. She's a CJ virgin remember. It's not fair to steal him from under her (literally almost).

icemistOBE · 26/04/2015 08:19

Morning

Back to blue skies again.

Is richtea jumping the queue?

Nickel45 · 26/04/2015 08:38

Morning all, my body decided it had had enough last night and I crashed out with the kids. I think a combo of futile not sleeping, rungs kids around yesterday, five boys to football and a late dinner for the kids, and my head gave up! Slept from 9 till I was woken by DS this morning! Feel better today, ready for CJ to arrive later on.

pixie your story is amazingy brilliant! I read this morning, and was really annoyed when it stopped! Not at you, obviously!! It is the kind of story I would stay up all night reading (hmm ...admitting I do that might explain some of the tiredness too!). Thank you for the MN mention :)

Good luck to your DS today richtea, I hope it stays dry for you to watch.

Nickel45 · 26/04/2015 08:40

ice your littlie is such a cutie. Those first haircuts are hard, aren't they. For my DS I took him early on, but for DD was much older, and her hair was lovely, but she wouldn't let me brush it, so it had to be cut!

mummyreeds · 26/04/2015 08:55

All this talk of a good night's sleep making me very jealous! Staying in a hotel with noisiest guests and noisiest doors! Next year going for a Premier Inn! Am I ungrateful or just grumpy due to sleep deprivation?

Richtea, how disappointing if you were expecting CJ today and got to wait a week! It will be worth it though. Hope it's not crafty under the raincoat!

Nickel45 · 26/04/2015 09:14

Pretty sure it was a one off mummyr!

Are you back home tonight? Hope you get better sleep (I am really grumpy when I am tired ... so that'll be most of the time, then!!) Hmm

Nickel45 · 26/04/2015 09:17

I'm finally catching up with Masterchef (thank you BBC1 for posting the winner on Facebook .... grrrrrrr) and they are playing London Grammar .... messing with my head so early in the morning, not fair!
