Ooh, good point, lets hope woof and orphan haven't registered to run in their disguises! We need BK to provide her close protection across town.

Richtea19 · 24/04/2015 22:17

nickel what a good plan. I could fight through the marathon crowds with CJ on my arm! Might just forget to cheer DS on though (bad mummy alert).

frank its the mini marathon as DS is only 16, but had to trial for it as stiff competition. Why is it that when I type"stiff" I giggle??? Might be the wine at the pub and now the prosecco....

pixie its very strange when an allergy just happens. My youngest was on a school trip, field trip and I had to collect him early because he came up in hives, we thought it might of been "pine". Although since then his been fine. Must be really difficult with a peanut allergy. :(

Richtea19 · 24/04/2015 22:19

Do you think woof and orphan might be the front and back end of the pantomine horse in the marathon!!!!

Onlygirljen · 24/04/2015 22:24

Hope he's ok pixie, my youngest has CMPI and I find that stressful enough, peanut allergy must be a nightmare. Hope you get some kip. I'm praying for a quiet night after an all time low of sleep deprivation last night. Think I need to bring in some sort of expert sleep trainer!

Enjoy your day with CJ tomorrow. And ilove get an early night while you've got him!

Onlygirljen · 24/04/2015 22:27

Yes rich, both desperate for a ride

pixieg1rl · 24/04/2015 22:33

Looks like I could do a handover to Richtea in the marathon crowds then. All eyes peeled for 2 runners in a moth-eaten Dobbin costume, bickering over a roll of gaffer tape and a dog-eared photo of Poldark. I also think we can spot cjwoof from the toolbelt, fishnets and crocs ensemble (and the strong smell of pilchards).

On the allergies front we've been pretty lucky so far - nurseries are very strictly no nuts, and also very good about dairy free menus. We are also very lucky in that the clinic that he attends is led by one of the country's leading paediatric allergy teams (one of the advantages of living so close to Cambridge University), and they are pioneering allergy treatments for peanuts with very good results.

Ilovelblue · 24/04/2015 22:33

Not sure how much sleep I'll get tonight and I am looking after my friend's little boy as well tomorrow. Not sure whether CJ will have gone by the time he arrives or whether they will meet and play soldiers. My friend's little one will recognise CJ as he has seen a photo of him on my phone. It could be an interesting morning!

Anyway, CJ has reappeared so it's time for me to disappear off here!

Richtea19 · 24/04/2015 23:28

Just seen an advert for The Edge on BBC2 next week with Tom Hughes... Rather gorg, with cheekbones! Tad young, but hey ho Grin

Not the edge, The Game!

BK28 · 24/04/2015 23:36

Sorry about that ilove thanks for doing the pickup today.. had a bit of trouble with getting hold of the car I needed. The man from Sothebys said that the 1961 Ferrari Spider wasn't available as a rental (it is up for sale at £8 million) - I was thinking of CJ and thought he might like a treat and actually be allowed to drive!

Anyway have now got hold of the Landrover with camo markings and will collect from you tomorrow. The undercover operation for handover to Pixie is all set - have already been scouring the riders and runners...lots of entries going for the Cornish theme this year... Darkie and co!!

R/L saw me on the train to Bath ...made me wonder if there was a spare time slot whether CJ might like a break at home for a few days, the city looked lovely in the sunshine - for a bit of battery recharging and pampering in the Spa!!

mummyreeds · 24/04/2015 23:39

Hi guys

Arrived in my lovely hotel at 5pm and been so busy only just got connected to WiFi and I know most of you will be asleep by now!
However just wanted to share with you that yes, I got the jobSmile
I think I'm still in shock as didn't dare to think I would. Getting dismissed last Nov really knocked my confidence.
Thank you for all your good wishes.

Missing CJ already, glad he's in safe hands ILove, knew you could be relied on!
Pixie I will need your address as to complete my reenactment I need to turn up at your house and ask CJ if he missed me! If you check his Bergen I packed his gardening gloves!!

pixieg1rl · 24/04/2015 23:42

I'm so pleased for you mummyreeds, not that we doubted you of course.

Thanks for having the foresight to pack his gardening gloves, I have a nasty patch of nettles that need clearing and I've just done my nails.

BK28 · 24/04/2015 23:44

Superb mummyr, well done! I think it has something to do with this thread (apart from your charm and magnetism naturally) as Richtea also got her job whilst on here.

CJ was very energetic last night (more than me I think, I was kn....d even before I had to go and pick him up). Maybe he ought to be dumped at the side of the motorway more often! I had to laugh this morning though because the cat appeared on the bed and I wasn't sure who was more startled: CJ or the cat! Have to say though, CJ's reflexes are pretty damn good, even though he was fast asleep at the time. Must be borne out of being on the lookout for the Taliban at all times.

He's been quizzing me about the kilt situation but I just said "Ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies!" He seems curious about RL Chris as well - I think he senses competition!

My friend's little boy is due soon so they can play soldiers in the garden until BK arrives.

Ilovelblue · 25/04/2015 09:22

Back to RL, I am really looking after my friend's son today. She and her husband have just divorced and next Friday is house move day so they think it's best if their son is out of the way whilst they do lots of packing up etc. It's the first time I've personally come into contact with friends divorcing and affecting such young children. I've made sure to find out what he knows in case he asks me awkward questions. You have to try not to judge, don't you? You never really know what goes on behind closed doors.

Ilovelblue · 25/04/2015 09:28

Meant to say, not sure if any of you read the Telegraph, but there's a picture of Poldark on the front page. The actress who plays Elizabeth says the topless shots of him undermine the show. On one of the inside pages, there's a half page article entitled "One last Sunday night swoon: a nation's women brace themselves for post-Poldark misery". Reading it, it more or less describes how we felt post-OG. It also talks of a "dearth of small screen heartthrobs". We women have been starved apparently of red blooded alpha male types. Should we be referring the writer of the article to our ramblings maybe?

Nickel45 · 25/04/2015 10:32

Can't concentrate long enough for the telegraph, but in the Mirror (!) there is an article about the actress playing Demelza, saying she is dating AT's stunt double. :-)

Brilliant news mummyr, pleased for you xx

Nickel45 · 25/04/2015 10:35

Also in the Mirror, apparently 50 shades is now being being shown in the daytime from mums to go to, and they can take their babies. I did that with mine, many years ago (not for 50 shades), love a bit of daytime cinema!

pixieg1rl · 25/04/2015 10:50

I loved the mum and baby screenings. I used to go all the time when I was on maternity leave. This morning I was clearing out some stuff and I came across a ticket stub from the last time I saw a grown up film at the cinema. June 2013.

BK28 · 25/04/2015 10:59

Sorry ilove hadn't gone AWOL but was just away on a R/L works training course - didn't have time to access wifi as it was really an intense few days.
Have just caught up with all the marvellous updates:
pixie just loving the new angle - really clever of you to have picked up on this important gap in the story. Knowing the outcome for Smurf it is interesting to get an insight into what he thought was reality.

Know that you feel it has run it's course but BIG Please, jen at least get them back to Blighty and lets have a proper send off from her BATUS pals and perhaps a conclusion for Julia and her relationship with Brains... but have loved every word you have written!

Need a smile on your face then SPO you deliver everytime - the way you have encapsulated certain inhabitants of MN leaves you grinning all day Grin thanks!!

Gentle and tender from Whajeb Sublime!!

And the new kid on the block - Dance left really wowed out with this one - misunderstandings, angst, twists and turns ... more please!!

But really hats of to you all ... Just loving the parallel universe you all inhabit!! Makes it difficult to actually want to do R/L sometime.
anyway off to do the return to uni run with DS .. on the home run now, exams and then that's the end of year 2 only 3 more to go!!! Thoughts to all of you with little people it might feel like eternity when you are in it, but it is really such a short time and then they are off or their need for you changes, so enjoy them!!

Nickel45 · 25/04/2015 15:48

My entertainment for the afternoon, watching 22 fit (ish) men in shorts. Could think of worse things to be doing!!
