Grin Anyone else counting down the days! I actually get nervous thinking about it. I have re watched all series and reading the books to pass the time.

Can't wait to see what they do with Sansa and Tyrion this series. And will we see the hound again and lady stone heart?

Have you read the Winds of Winter chapter he's released on his website? I read it WHILE re-watching Season One yesterday Grin

I still get really upset by Drogo's death. He was such a NICE terrifying warlord. Daenerys could have been happy

ILikeToClean · 04/04/2015 10:06

Yes! I binge watched 4 seasons just after Xmas but quite fancy watching them all again before season 5 starts as it's been one of my favourite progs ever! Don't think I've got time though!

I'm reading the first book but have to say I enjoyed watching it more than reading, which is not normally the case as books are usually better, but I think visually GoT is stunning.

Can't wait!

fireandblood · 04/04/2015 10:20

I am still only halfway through storm of swords part two heyhey. I loved drogo kinda wanted them to go back kick ass and rule the seven kingdoms but was not to be Hmm

Going to miss Oberyn this season he was lovely. Such a hero.

I love both but in different ways. Think there will be a few surprises this season though for those that have read far in the books I think it's going to stray a bit

I am hoping to have a game of thrones opening party with me dh and our two friends Grin

I'm quarter of a way through a feast for crows. The books are great. I'm pleased I watched the series before reading as I think if I had done it the other way around I'd be disappointed. The books add all the minor details that the series briefly touches upon - like the feelings. You have to guess what they might be thinking in the series and it's written in black and white in the book. This next series I'm really looking forward to, be nice to see arya do some more!

Trills · 05/04/2015 21:07

I am looking forward to it, but I fear that anyone who counts in "sleeps" is not old enough to watch a show with this kind of content!

fireandblood · 06/04/2015 14:30

I agree candy it fills in a lot of gaps/background and passes the time for me. Hate waiting a year but of course it's going to take time to make such a brilliant show.

I hope we see jaqen d'hgar with arya again. I am going to miss her little partnership with the hound those where my fave scenes to watch.

Not to worry trills I'm just used to counting in sleeps for the kids and can't contain my excitement.

I was very late to GoT and watched the whole 4 seasons in a few weeks. I only finished the last one at the weekend so it's only a short wait for the next season for me.

I too loved Drogo and wish he'd lived...plenty of other characters though I suppose. I was quite shocked at how easily main characters were killed...not something that usually happens and a refreshing change.

Hersetta427 · 07/04/2015 15:50

We are late to the party and watched all four series in two weeks in January.

Can't wait for series 5 but after watching so many in such a short period of time, only being able to watch one a week is torturous.

Am a teeny bit in love with Tyrion.

Flopsy28 · 07/04/2015 19:52

Oh yes hersetta, Tyrion is a firm favourite. He has the best lines. Jamie is kinda growing on me after his friendship with briefness developed.

Flopsy28 · 07/04/2015 19:53

Ha ha 'briefness' was meant to read Brienne.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 07/04/2015 19:59

I don't have Skye Sad. Seen all four series and love them.

I really warmed to Jamie when he was with Brienne.

I have a bit of a thing for Ramsey, the actor who plays him is amazing.

Hersetta427 · 07/04/2015 21:16

Yes he did show a softer side. I kind of hope he will throw off his incestuous ways and declare his love for brienne.

I got all the books for my birthday so now waiting for holidays to get a chance to read them.

ILikeToClean · 07/04/2015 23:23

Yes agree that it's refreshing that no character is safe, although stressful when you think a favourite might go!

And there are no wholly good or bad characters, one minute you hate them, the next love them. Like Jaime - by the time he's cosying up to Brianne and being a lovely brother to Tyrion you forget he chucked Bran out of the window in the first episode!

Hersetta427 · 08/04/2015 09:44

I am still getting over Sean Bean have his head chopped off in the first series!!

fireandblood · 08/04/2015 22:04

Getting close now. No one is safe! Did anyone watch the preview thing at Tower of London, interviews and stuff with cast. I'm a teeny bit obsessed I think.

Can't wait to see if Tyrion is going to become a supporter of danaerys too. Looks like it from the trailers!

How good would that be. I think he would be more appreciated there.

I am so excited - just namechanged in honour of this great tv show

FurFoxAke · 10/04/2015 20:59

I'm excited too and I still wish Oberyn wasn't dead. Tyrion is great, I can't wait to see that all develop...and Sansa...and Arya and Jon Snurr.
Problem I have is I can't remember where the series got to compared to the books, so I'm being vague until I figure it out. Grin

I suppose I could always watch the last series again?? For research purposes of course.....

Flopsy28 · 10/04/2015 22:02

which one was Oberyn Foxy

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 11/04/2015 19:10

The one what went deady after fighting the Mountain, Flopsy.

Flopsy28 · 11/04/2015 19:13

Oohhh, of course. He was hot and a bit naughty and a bit worthy. Definitely a good character. I grew to like the hound and his relationship with Arya. I was a bit sad that she left him dying but secretly did a that she was so tough.

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 11/04/2015 19:13

I assume that this is a safe place to write spoilers for the series as they air on Monday (cos I've just directed people here for that purpose from my thread in Chat!)

Iamblossom · 11/04/2015 19:16

I actually think Vikings is better than GOT. [ducks]

Flopsy28 · 11/04/2015 19:21

I want to watch vikings too blossom, I can't find it though. Is it just on amazon prime?

ShebaRabbit · 11/04/2015 20:12

Re Drogo and Danaeris, she may have been happier but she will never have become Queen of Westeros without the dragons, and she wouldn't have the dragons without Drogo dying-its the age old conundrum, career or family?
I love GRRM's female characters. Am ridiculously excited and rereading Dance with Dragons to see me through.

FurFoxAke · 11/04/2015 20:21

DH likes Vikings, bizarrely I've not got into it, bizarre because liking GoT you'd think I would have. I think it's an amazon show IySWIM so only shows there, )ATM anyway).

Yes to all those things flopsy he was so.... that'll teach me to like a character.

I wonder if the tv programme will show us more of the stuff that wasn't in the book yet? Grin
I found that all very interesting....

And, what about er...the aftermath of the Red Wedding? Will that be shown do you think? I haven't seen any trailers, so I have no idea what to expect apart from sex and violence Grin
