Grin Anyone else counting down the days! I actually get nervous thinking about it. I have re watched all series and reading the books to pass the time.

Can't wait to see what they do with Sansa and Tyrion this series. And will we see the hound again and lady stone heart?

OP posts:

Is this a thread with non-book spoilers? Afraid to read too far back in case I read something I dont want to know. Smile

Admit I found last night's ep to be a bit dull to be honest. Dany is really starting to irritate me.

Looking forward to catching up with Arya next week though (I've always pronounced it ahya a la Catelyn).

My head is on backwards tonight, I meant is this a thread with book spoilers. Duh.

abigamarone · 14/04/2015 21:10

There are a few references to events or characters in the books, regarding them being left out of the series, but subtle enough not to be spoilers.

VoteForAlanBstard · 15/04/2015 07:48

Ok thanks abiga Smile

Checking in!
I was surprised by the Mance story but I do wonder if they will bring in the other thing later...

MiladyBeaWinter · 15/04/2015 10:08

Watched Ep1 on Monday, then cracked and downloaded /watched 2,3 & 4 last night. I have a NowTV subscription but am impatient.

Ooooo. 'Twas excellent. Def diverging from the books. Tbh I think that's a good thing as I think GRR Martin was going to struggle to bring all the different characters and plot strands back together cohesively. too busy poncing about at Comic Con etc and perving at Emelia

Stopped watching Thronecast last season. I had a bit of a thing about Geoff Lloyd and took the hump when he stopped Hmm

yumyumpoppycat · 15/04/2015 13:13

I am really pleased if its different from the books, as loved the show from s1 and its not the same when you know what happens - this way I can enjoy both Grin

ILikeToClean · 15/04/2015 13:50

Just watched. Good episode - have only read the first book so I was hoping that Manse would change his mind at the last minute and "bend the knee".

Silly question that has been bugging me - why do Sansa and Stannis' witchy friend no longer have red hair? Is that significant - thought it was really weird that their hair is now blackish!

Missing the Hound too but so glad Tyrion's still around!

gingercat12 · 15/04/2015 14:13

ILikeToClean Melisandre has either run out of henna at the Wall, or her scenes were shot in black and white. That is all I could think of.

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 15/04/2015 15:00

Hang on hang on hang on!!!

It's just occurred to me that what if Jonathan Pryce has been cast as the High Sparrow because he's a dead ringer for Pope Francis???

I'm so fucking smart Grin

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 15/04/2015 15:00

Melisandre is sounding more British these days too.

yumyumpoppycat · 15/04/2015 16:10

Sansa is in disguise as little finger's niece or something alongthose lines ....not the most disguisey disguise though.

yumyumpoppycat · 15/04/2015 16:11

Wasn't Melisandre played by a different actress at first?

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 15/04/2015 17:14

Sansa is pretending to be littlefinger 's bastard daughter alayne stone. Melisandre is played by a Dutch actress who uses her own accent - it's always been the same actress I think.

MiladyBeaWinter · 15/04/2015 19:14

The hair thing. Sansa due to disguise but I suspect it's also a deeper, darker thing going on. All symbolic. No Bran and his ravens this series so they need something eh?

Plus winter is coming obvs. I always go a shade darker red for winter. Wink

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 15/04/2015 19:56

I guess Sansa's red hair would have marked her out as a Tully. Though tbh I'm impressed that it is apparently easier to dye your hair in pseudo-medieval times than it is for me in 2015!

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 15/04/2015 19:56

Cooroo, btw - your name. Hounds of the Morrigan?

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 15/04/2015 19:59

I was always highly amused that the first time Melissandre says the famous line 'For the night is dark and full of terrors' the crucial word 'terrors' sounded a bit difficult to understand, hence my dh and I now frequently saying 'for the night is dark and full of turds.'

VoteForAlanBstard · 15/04/2015 22:50

Never mind the hair dye, I want the Westeros pill since none of the women ever have periods. Grin

I miss Sansa's red hair. It was pretty.

Cooroo · 15/04/2015 22:57

Yes SerJorah! I read Hounds to my DD when she picked it out of the library many years ago and we both loved it, especially Cooroo the fox, and it sort of stuck. "This is a very safe road ... A boy could ride a bike along this road with his eyes shut..." Magic!

ShebaRabbit · 15/04/2015 23:07

In the books they drink a thing called Moontea alanbstard, it seems to stop pregnancy, maybe it stops periods too Smile

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 15/04/2015 23:07

That's so cool Cooroo! I read it when I was a lass and found it utterly captivating, also loved Cooroo. Never met anyone else who'd ever heard of it :)

limitedperiodonly · 15/04/2015 23:23

Oh but Sansa's period was discovered which was why she was fast-tracked into being Joffrey's bride.

Shae was trying to hide it but someone discovered it. It was a man but I can't remember who it was.

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 16/04/2015 00:12

The Hound.

Cooroo · 16/04/2015 06:27

(Not one of the Morrigan's!)
