Almost history grad and obsessed DC. Love it. < scrolls back forever to find the history convo>

MavisGrind · 27/03/2015 13:54

Oh FFS link fail

AnneOfAramis · 27/03/2015 13:54

Er no The MAry Seacole song is the absolute best - although as some wenches are aware Charles II bling bling song wins in this house.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/03/2015 14:01

Probably more than four Apricot I just remember that particular occasion because someone commented at the time that we had four completely unrelated and diverse subjects on the go at once, as well as perving, and I used it to try and explain to DH at the time that we talk about everything under the sun, not just TM...

Also YY to Horrible Histories, The Viking Simon and Garfunkle pastiche was one of my favourites. and also the entire list of kings and queens in one song.

MavisGrind · 27/03/2015 14:01

Mary Seacole is good I grant you, as is Charles II however I do love Dickens and the Charles Darwin song. And the Four Georges. And Richard III. And Dick Turpin. And the Kings and Queens.....

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 27/03/2015 14:12

Oh dear. I think I might get excommunicated here - gave up History at 14 & have never ever seen Horrible Histories.

OTOH - I know that French men were very very pretty around the mid 1600s? So I know the important stuff I feel.

FolknNorah · 27/03/2015 14:17

Horrible histories is ace. I regularly allow the DCs to watch it on YouTube.

^^that is the sort of parent I am. Generous to a fault.

Arf at apricot analysing wenches. Do you need a sit down after that? Was it a bit like trying to watch one of those 'arty' films? Something you had to stick out to the bitter end no matter what?

So, to conclude, are we all pervs?

I like to think apricots got some stats and a report on the go, with a giant 'INCONCLUSIVE' stamped on the front in red.

FolknNorah · 27/03/2015 14:25

Yes! And one if those walls like they have in tv detective thingies with loads of pictures, photos, quotes and arrows pointing in all directions.
And she's stood there, legs slightly apart, hand on her chin going 'hmmmmmm' and every now and then moving something or drawing another arrow.

....With Trevor Eve standing in the background wondering "What does it all means...?"

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/03/2015 14:36

Ooooooooooooooooh Mavis Waking the Dead. I loved it. It was one of the few things I insisted on watching. Do you remember when the young female detective got lobbed off a building and landed on their car. Jeeesus - proper shocked I was - little gibbering heap.

MavisGrind · 27/03/2015 14:42

That was it - loved it. I do remember that bit too. I used to think I'd like to have Sue Johnston's wardrobe when I was a bit older. She was always very stylish in that.

Righto, off to work. There is a tree surgeon at work next door. I can't tell if he's HBF so I'll go to work instead. Grin

Laters my lovelies.

Morelikeguidelines · 27/03/2015 14:42

Mavis I think the actor who plays Charles Dickens/ Henry VII in their songs is the best actor.

The one who plays Alexander the Great is the fittest though.

DD loves the Dick Turpin song.

We also love Cleopatra and Joan of Arc.

Enormouse · 27/03/2015 14:43

Is there a PowerPoint? With a laser pointer or one of those extending pointing sticks. And apes in a tight suit, severe bun and glasses.

"The wenches, as they choose to self define, are a diverse range of women, mostly middleclass who communicate through the popular parenting forum, mumsnet for what they call purposes of 'perving'…"

Morelikeguidelines · 27/03/2015 14:43

Apricots will be standing there at her board with squiggles all over the place, and them one big circle in the middle that says "LIKES HOT BEARDY FUUUCKEEEERSSS!"

Enormouse · 27/03/2015 14:46

And a venn diagram with the categories -likes Athos, likes Aramis, likes Porthos, likes Dog. And then outliers for the cardinal, trev and Roquefort.

ApricotCrush · 27/03/2015 15:31

Grin Grin Grin

Baddz · 27/03/2015 15:44

I love all of the HH guys.
Ben willbond is Alexander the great :)
Love jim howick too.
Just know ds2 is not going to stop at pils tonight.
Ffs.

MiladyBeaWinter · 27/03/2015 16:03

[arf] at Apricot and her wall of wench analysis. She could have a swingometer al la John Snow during the elections to show how teams change as new wenches join. She will rock the sexy businesswoman doing analysis look.

My Facebook is down, bah.

ChaiseLounger · 27/03/2015 16:09

Lyndie · 27/03/2015 16:15

I have that too Chaise, the App crashes when I click on the thread, Safari won't let me log on (hasn't done for ages), last Friday it wouldn't work at all!!

BloodyElkFire · 27/03/2015 16:18

Having mastered going forward, have just caught BabyElk embarking on the stairs.

I have also found a grey hair. I feel the two may be connected

ChaiseLounger · 27/03/2015 16:22

Morelike do tell re Katharine Parr thing - I totally love Henry VIII, always have.
plus I recently found our that he knocked down our local monastery , in order to use the stones to build Hampton Court. the locals hate him for that. I love Hampton court and take the ds's as often as I can - tis only down the road - the maze is fab.

does Apricot have a scientific study re us bonding as wenches? I just assumed it was coz we are all nutters(places self at front of that queue!)

IssyStark · 27/03/2015 16:23

MLG I was violently agreeing with you (sorry if it came across that I was disagreeing)
