Hi all

What I asked was:

  1. When do we think porthos will get a love interest? And why none up to this point?
  1. Did anyone think porthos was fit in last episode?

Assumed he must have fans in the tavern. I thought the accused was a good episode for him. Did it please his fans?

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 22/03/2015 10:35

Morning. OK, need to catch up on last few pages on here....but I can see I have 27 Twitter notifications and I'm terrified to click on it.

OK. This is it. Think of me fondly wenches etc etc.

FancyFancy · 22/03/2015 10:35

Morning everyone

Feeling a bit stiff this morning and am quite tempted to just lie in the sun like the cats all day. This won't help me deal with the ironing mountain though. I wonder if I can sneak off with Aramis again, for a lower back & thigh massage this time, to see if that loosens me up?

Carolina2015 · 22/03/2015 10:37

LAst of my pics allowance - believe this is a new pic...

ChaiseLounger · 22/03/2015 11:15

I have spent all morning watching, re-watching, rewinding etc. to the snog.

I love Anne in this episode: she is brilliant, I love how she says "you dare to defy me"
and then also she says to Rochefort, when he calls her 'madame', she says said "you will address me as your Majesty".
I just think she's brilliant in this episode.

For next week, The finale, they do actually show the clip of the executioner swinging his sword down on to Constance, so, one has to assume that Dog is going to pop up at the last last second, to save her, right? we have to assume that right?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/03/2015 11:21

Chaise we assume nothing from the trailers..... Grin

Off now to take DS out to cinema. (To prove that I do, sometimes. That makes it twice now. In 6 years. Hmm )

I just smacked a US fan on twitter for posting the most revealing spoiler so if I come up on your timeline ignore

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 22/03/2015 11:26

Have just read Red Scharlach. Agree, not as funny as she usually is but I didn't think it was negative at all.

Also - YY to slurpy snog. It was. I did post on Fri night that it wasn't pretty. Hot, yes, but odd.

I wonder how many takes they actually do.

LaComtess · 22/03/2015 11:26

You ain't seen me.... Right?

Just my take on these photos...

  1. Tom has at least the good manners to be stony faced. Oh how I love him.

  2. ref BBC America in general. Yes to us it does seem rubbish that they get the finale before us etc and seem to get attention and promo. As I see it though, much of this is because they have a thorough understanding of how competitive the market is in the US and that you have to play the game. So they've got a proper PR making them do photos and messages, and they've also clearly had a discussion where they've said 'we are not interrupting the schedule again because of some piddly sport or charity event' 'otherwise the series will lose viewers and it'll ruin it' 'so no we are running it whatever, fuck you BBC in London'. Now, I don't blame them for that decision - that is the right thing for them to do. The big fault here is our Beeb with the stupid scheduling, and JP, Colin and Adrian frankly need to get political in terms of whom they're talking to on promo and scheduling. Ie not in the new British drama trailer, rubbish promo etc. They need to find whoever is doing the Poldark stuff and employ them. Because this is the problem.

End of rant.

Retires to kitchen.

Carolina2015 · 22/03/2015 11:45

Was that Comtess?... can't be. She's in the kitchen

Carolina2015 · 22/03/2015 11:48

Update. The US fan has just responded to my tweet apologising and saying that she thought we had seen the finale already. She assumed they are behind. Clearly not a regular tweeter or she'd have seen it all over twitter!

Bless... she didn't seem genuinly sorry and hopefully will pass message on to her fellow fans! Smile

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 22/03/2015 11:48

Do we think Santi pointing at his sign, is thinking, "WTF is Tumblr?"

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 22/03/2015 11:55

I'm looking forward to ep 6 tonight, the ep with the beaks Grin Can't wait for the Milathos scenes, Maimie is so awesome Smile

ApricotCrush · 22/03/2015 12:02

I do think we're being controlled by the American market now. I think, and I've seen this mentioned elsewhere, that the US set when their new season would start, Saturday 17th January. If we had started at the same time as last year on the Sunday, we would have been a day behind them all along, so the BBC had to fit us in where they could and the only available night was Friday 16th.

Then they realised that there would be two breaks for sport, so we had to start a fortnight earlier, on Friday 2nd January. There was no room for any decent promotion before our start because of all the Christmas stuff. Then because of Comic Relief they were shafted for the last two episodes because the US wouldn't delay, and indeed why should they?

I think this is the thin end of the wedge and we will be dictated to regarding scheduling and content for S3. Indeed, as we have said, the content is already less 'adult' than we would have expected for a post-watershed show.
