Can someone remind me what the diarrhoea coloured jacket was like as my mind only remembers the recent pub curtains and fur. The aran cardigan is firmly embedded in my psyche unfortunately, but the diarrhoea jacket somehow passed me by. Anyone got a pic?

I suppose to be fair to BA, when you're asked to wear those monstrosities like in Reign it's nice just to throw on some proper normal well-worn clothes in a grungy, actor-ish "I don't care what I wear coz I'm flippin gorgeous" kinda way. I don't see why he couldn't wear full desert combats during public outings though - it's not too much to ask surely.

percyjackson1 · 12/03/2015 14:23

All that effort for so little- very British - perhaps some kind of medal in addition.

The frightful folk duo? I had to google them, (imagine introducing yourself, yes I was one half of the frightful folk duo in 4 weddings) Flatten the curls and get some John Lennons and it might just work...

Holidays always end up at some point with DH throwing the toys out of the pram and the rest of us looking on aghast - holidays not involving taking pictures of lower division football clubs would be enough for me..

orphan · 12/03/2015 14:24

pixie I think you'll find a holiday isn't a holiday unless you've had a full on row with your other half. Preferably one that entails one of you (in my case it's always me) storming off and then realising they've no idea where they are or how to get back to the hotel/restaurant/etc, thereby promoting a sheepish phone call... (I discovered some very interesting back streets in Paris this way)

pixieg1rl · 12/03/2015 14:24

I'm mooting the idea of holidays separately. I'm gagging for some time to myself, something where I don't have to constantly be thinking about providing the next meal or getting the laundry done or being home for bath/bed etc. In 4 years I've spent 1 night away from DS and that's when I was in hospital with suspected appendicitis (and the breast pump came along for that trip)

cjwoofwoof · 12/03/2015 14:31

Ah pixie make the most of it. It gets better once they're at school. Before you know it your DS will be 18, driving, independent, girlfriends, drinking, clubbing and not wanting his Mummy anymore. And all you'll have to look forward to is the wonderful alone time on holiday with DH...uh-oh!

orphan · 12/03/2015 14:35

cjwoof here it is. It looked like he didn't have anything on underneath but sadly other pics showed this was not the case.

cjwoofwoof · 12/03/2015 14:38

Oh dear oh dear oh dear, I would say thanks orphan but now I'm not so grateful that you shared the pic [feeling nauseous]

That's just hideous. He really can't be gay, I'm certain now.

orphan · 12/03/2015 14:42

Hehe, yes serious case of wardrobe malfunction, but unfortunately not the sort that entails clothes falling off.

cjwoofwoof · 12/03/2015 14:48

I'm afraid that in the "dressing as myself" department, AT has got BA beat. He looked yummy on the One Show last week. Juries out on the 1780s Red Coat v Modern Desert Combats coz that cheek scar is totally lickable. But then again that tongue roll is a killer for your hormones. There's only one way to find out....FIGHT!...Oh no, Rhubarbs done that already today...

orphan · 12/03/2015 15:17

No need for a Harry Hill fight off over redcoat versus combats for me. It's combats all the way down and right off please.

Onlygirljen · 12/03/2015 15:18

Ahh, just typed a post and list it. Checking in quickly. Got the lurgy and RL is kicking my arse (and winning) at the moment Sad

BA really seems to like that vomit suede jacket. Wore it here too (soz for giving it more screen time)

Onlygirljen · 12/03/2015 15:20

Lost not list. Told you I wasn't winning at the minute...Confused

orphan · 12/03/2015 15:23

I've a reading recommendation for anyone that's mad enough to try and read something other than this thread and the ff. The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins has been touted as the new Gone Girl, but I'm enjoying it far more so far. And kezia yes, I am still reading Wolf Hall!

orphan · 12/03/2015 15:25

onlygirl hope lurgy and RL get kicked to the kerb soon. The monstrosity looks a little better unzipped but would be best left in the wardrobe altogether.

pixieg1rl · 12/03/2015 15:38

Ooh, I've got that in my suitcase jen, I'm (trying to) read Bodies of Light by Sarah Moss which I'm really enjoying in between the interruptions to discuss the intricacies of the plot of Frozen.

orphan · 12/03/2015 15:41

pixie I really liked Cold Earth by Sarah Moss. Very evocative and a real page turner.

Speighty33 · 12/03/2015 15:53

ha ha cjwoof that is indeed true, the female on arm trick could be a cunning plan to throw us off of the scent. I watched Poldark last night and whilst not in BA's league I have to say AT was very easy on the eye!

Richtea19 · 12/03/2015 15:57

orphan that is the best description of the suede jacket! Much better u do e with black Tshirt underneath. The thought of nothing underneath and chest hair getting caught up in the zip,,,,

pixie always an argument, before, during and after holidays with the Richteas. I have a vivid imagination (no!!) and always play out in my one what I want the holiday to be. And of course it never is! Bring on the argument. My answer to most of these situations is to pour another glass of wine.

Must go, off to have my coil removed! SPO if you are reading, don't read now! Hope it will come out the conventional way as when it went in I was under a general (backward facing, wrong way round cervix !)

orphan · 12/03/2015 16:27

richtea you do make me giggle. Don't know why but I'm just imagining you sauntering down the street, waving gaily to passersby and saying cheerily, "Just off to have my coil removed!" Smile

orphan · 12/03/2015 16:29

Fingers crossed, the removal goes smoothly. Lie back and think of cream teas...

percyjackson1 · 12/03/2015 16:38

Having examined the picture intently, I feel there may be an issue with colour - so we have the vomit suede jacket but also a meconium coloured shirt. (keeping it medical richtea). It's really not doing him any favours especially with the white neck, tanned face combo already mentioned, he just needs to go to colour me beautiful or summink (khaki all the way my friend all they way).

I'm in the middle of 'The Summer Book' Tove Jansson (the moomin lady) a quiet understated great book

Ilovelblue · 12/03/2015 16:40

Another difficult afternoon at the coalface. This training is not going well. What the heck have I let myself in for?

Will post the "CJ in Bath" diary when I get home and have tweaked it a bit but may need somebody to post it on Googledocs (Nickel or Icemist maybe?). Guess I should get my own account really.

Agree with you all about BA's dress sense. In fact, do I not recall that when we were discussing how useless his agency is, we also were going to offer a makeover for him and to take him shopping (as well as rewrite his CV etc)?

Ilovelblue · 12/03/2015 16:45

Oh one more thing - when he was doing the tour of the UK, was he supposed to be with mooj before I collected him to go to the Bath hotel? Not sure I can face digging through all the previous posts....

pixieg1rl · 12/03/2015 16:47

Orphan, I love Sarah Moss, although Nightwaking is not one I would recommend when you have a wakeful child (and useless husband). It's a bit close to the bone.

Richtea, coil removal is much easier than insertion, although after childbirth coil fitting was like sailing a dinghy up the Manchester ship canal, I'm surprised the damn thing hasn't just fallen out.

moojangles · 12/03/2015 17:18

Indeed he was!
Thought of cjwoof today, had a room of 16 year olds who were clearly channelling her innuendo skills..blaming the spring like weather
