richtea reading your post quickly I thought you'd written "I still feel young in my muff!!!" GrinBlush

KeziaOAP · 01/03/2015 11:08

As regards age, I don't feel 72 years young, I'm told I don't look my age nor act it most of the time Hmm. I had my children when in my mid/late 30s, at the school gates other mums were 10 years younger, so a few assumed I was their age. I was in hospital four years ago for an op on my spine a young med student came round to ask questions he said "shall I put you in age bracket 50-60" I had a smile on my face for the rest of the day.

pixieg1rl · 01/03/2015 11:08

I think my muff has got off worst in the ageing process. Bloody forceps. I'm hoping CJ will be an excellent personal trainer for my pelvic floor.

orphan · 01/03/2015 11:15

onlyjen I had to giggle at LB's horror that you'd gone beyond 'artistic licence'. I'd hate to see what she'd think about our cream teas, naked wrestling and shag rugs...

orphan · 01/03/2015 11:16

Oops seem to have conflated your name in an odd way onlygirl!

icemistOBE · 01/03/2015 11:18

I turned 40 in sept. I feel old doing school run! I most definitely don't feel 40- more like late 20's

icemistOBE · 01/03/2015 11:31

That made me giggle too. Never mind the actual artistic licence used in the series but a family going to Canada is too much!!!

Re Fifty Shades again, my neighbour (who passed on that horrid bug a few weeks ago and who claimed CJ in the paddling pool looked "too bony") pretends to be prudish and says "oh I couldn't watch it" but she has had two affairs with married men in the past and broken up their marriages but although I wanted to say "you weren't prudish then", I have so far held my tongue.

How nice Richtea that it is a recognised task to buy cards and sort out presents where you work. Over the past year, I have done four sets of funeral flowers, a baby present, two get well gifts, three big birthdays and six leavers. I suppose I work mainly with men so it's no contest that I would do these things better than them but it does annoy me at times when I get taken for granted.

About to go out in the garden. We do a big plant sale in May at work for our local charity and myself and my colleague grow all the plants from scratch. I set quite a few things going in the autumn but I think now is the time to make a concerted effort to start propagating in earnest.

Have a good day everyone! Back later when I've read Jen's latest. Think I will leave it for my lunchtime treat.

Nickel45 · 01/03/2015 11:43

Another brill chapter jen. In the same country. Can't wait to see what happens next. That comment made me giggle too, but that fact they are still reading just shows how fab your writing is, I reckon.

Onlygirljen · 01/03/2015 11:51

Thanks all for being lovely. I do hope he/she's not pissed off that I mentioned it. I didn't want to be all precious about comments on reviews (don't want to stoke that particular fire after the KD saga) but did want to apologise for any offence caused! I work in an industry which is constantly fictionalised on tv etc and frankly couldn't care less about inaccuracies when I watch them, but I know some people can be sensitive about these things. Probably should have just kept my mouth shut! Hmm

Such a gorgeous sunny, blustery day here. About to drag dd out for enforced fresh air. She's very sporty and active (def not passed on from my genes) but on a Sunday would like nothing more than to hibernate!

I can't get the ff out of my head - CJ as written by our wonderful writers has eclipsed the tv version. I find it hard to believe that we haven't actually seen all the gorgeous tender and sexy scenes that have been written. (And Beck is forever the musical loving Jonathan of spo's crazed imagination.)

cherin · 01/03/2015 13:02

I am whipping up lunch, definitely on the "improvised" side, after having been on a run plus football pickup with kids. Windy but very sunny, gorgeous day!
Need to catch up on ff.
DH is particularly grumpy as he realised we may have to sell and buy new place if we want ds2 to have place in school (we are surrounded by 3+ outstanding schools but demographic pressure means we may not be given any place!), and the prices have ballooned even more and a flat we could have bought 3 years ago is now 325k more expensive!
(110k extra per year, how does it sound???!!)

cherin · 01/03/2015 13:51

Btw: "the play that goes wrong" at the duchess theatre. :-)

Nickel45 · 01/03/2015 14:13

onlygirl I think you were right to respond to the comment. It was fair enough for them to say it, if that is what they felt. I didn't read it that they were overly critical, and your response was perfect. Don't fret over it xx
cherin that's mental over the house prices. Are you in London? It's a bit like that where I am, we could never before to move in the same area. It's hard when you have to consider schools and everything, we had that here where there weren't enough places for catchment children, but luckily they added another class in our school the year before my DS started, but it wasn't decided it they would do one for his year. Lucky they did. But some people still have kids in two or three different schools. Crazy!!
Have dropped my two off so have an hour free. Done the shopping, bought myself a book, having coffee. Happy bunny!!!!Smile

icemistOBE · 01/03/2015 14:42

New chapter from spo

Nickel45 · 01/03/2015 14:45

Bother. I'm in starbucks and the wifi won't let me access the ff site. Says it may contain material not suitable for a family environment. Really?!!!

icemistOBE · 01/03/2015 14:53

It's rather funny prob best to read alone and not with the possibility of spitting coffee out with laughing

Ilovelblue · 01/03/2015 14:54

That latest Klipdoctor chapter is pretty good ladies. It's about Jackie and expresses a lot of the things we said about CJ in the first episode - chauvinistic, deliberately horrible to Molly, not stamping on the way the other lads treated her. I can't review I don't think because he has stopped "guests" reviewing any more. I notice most of the other reviews were gushing and OTT.

Jen how do you find time to write another superb chapter when CJ is still with you? I know he's probably inspired you but I thought you might have some other things on your mind!!

I know I keep on saying this but some of our ff would be good enough to televise. Jen's, Rhubarb's and Pixie's immediately spring to mind but there are several others too.

Orphan I know exactly what you mean about the ff replacing the original series. I do want another series but if it's not to be, then the ff is just as good. Reading all the stories, then re-watching the DVD is a bit like having seen a few series of a favourite programme, then the BBC repeating the first series and you think "Yes, I know what happens next" and sort of lose interest. When I watch the DVD now, it's hardly about the storyline and just about lusting after CJ.

Onlygirljen · 01/03/2015 14:55

I'm at my mother in laws drinking coffee so best not read here. She's not too keen on CJ Grin

Thanks nickel was a bit worried it could be interpreted as me having a go, but will stop worrying! Smile

Ilovelblue · 01/03/2015 14:59

I don't think I've expressed that very well but what I mean is that the ff seems more "real" than the TV series now. Even though neither of them are real!

Ilovelblue · 01/03/2015 15:03

How can your mother in law not be keen on CJ Jen? Or is it because you've been so busy writing, you've neglected her son (in her eyes that is).

Onlygirljen · 01/03/2015 15:08

No no, just the real life CJ sitting in her kitchen. I couldn't very well leave him at home could I?! Grin

Nickel45 · 01/03/2015 15:45

SPO has outdone himself again! Brilliant! I'm relieved that we give the impression of being respectable ... Even if it is clear that we most certainly aren't! Hee hee!!

orphan · 01/03/2015 15:50

onlygirl I don't think you'd have offended anyone at all with your comment. I should imagine the poster will be pleased that you've acknowledged their point and explained your position on factual accuracy.

cherin I watched this new BBC series (second part on today actually) about amateur artists being set challenges. I couldn't help thinking what the judges would say if you'd been on and produced some stag art...Grin

orphan · 01/03/2015 16:10

spo your comic writing skills are beyond compare. I had to explain to dp why I was guffawing and interrupting his rugby watching.
