Evening! Well, it's been a bit of a day...!

Partial success with the soft play, although I don't think I can ever go back to the place. CJ seemed to stoke a bit of mass hysteria amongst the mums, they all wanted a piece of him. He was as attentive as he could be between organising mock battles in the ball pool and shouting at the kids to have some human decency and put some bloody effort in, then fending off the attentions of mums of varying ages.

Thankfully the rest of this afternoon / evening has been much more enjoyable and productive. I can now safely dispel the scurrilous 'seedless' rumour started by pixie. Let's just say grenade is an understatement. According to him cjwoof has taught him, through endurance training, how to keep constantly reloading in the face of intense crossfire. She has certainly done a job. cjwoof I salute you (and btw, I always play hard!)

Best run, CJ is soaking in the bath, and I'm certainly not leaving him on his own!! Grin

Oh and RL Chris is off at a stag weekend in Poland (he really lives up to his own cliche so well) so no introductions....Hmm

Onlygirljen · 28/02/2015 19:18

PS. got so excited I forgot to say thanks for the lovely ff comments! Cheers ladies

icemistOBE · 28/02/2015 20:51

Waiting on hubby to come back with Chinese, should have watched an ep of OG he's been so long

Loved the ending of Greenstuffs ff was a lovely story.

Oh yes, Chinese takeaway, brilliant idea, no cooking. Thanks ice, going to ring them now :)

cherin · 28/02/2015 21:30

Catching up just in time to wish Orphan happy birthday, mine was earlier this week and I managed to celebrate with proper grown up dinner and west end theatre. Excellent. I could not stop thinking that BA would have been a good actor for one of the leading parts, but it was a proper comedy so I wouldn't know if he's good at that (I mean, the dead weasel cape is quite comical but I fear that's unintentional).

I always make my jam seedless if I can, but would never consider seedless and CJ in the same sentence!

Nickel45 · 28/02/2015 21:32

Happy belated birthday cherin xx

apsara03 · 28/02/2015 21:38

Belated happy birthday orphan hope RL spoilt . And glad you had a lovely time cherin.
Loved the end of greenstuff's ff too..
still reading yours pixie and really enjoying in. Thanks to a you lovely ff writers. The escapism it provides from thr busyness of RD is very welcome at the moment and keeping me sane.

cherin · 28/02/2015 21:43

Oh, I'd rather not think about years passing by. Inside I am still 21
(Honestly, I am so much more fun now than at 21! What was I thinking??!! Tsk tsk. Would have never given a second look at a swivel chair, at the time. Silly me)

Sooo, assuming CJ has survived the assault of soft players and relative mums, when will he be released? When is he heading south? Do I need to stock up on Beroca for the poor fellow?

Nickel45 · 28/02/2015 22:32

Ditto to that cherin! My birthday is in a couple of weeks, and I certainly don't feel or act as old as my age is telling me I am!!

My DS has actually stayed on his first ever sleep over, and is apparently asleep! Amazed and pleased, but i am now missing him like mad! Silly old fool that I am!!

pixieg1rl · 28/02/2015 22:36

I'm looking down the barrel of a significant birthday, and I'm just ignoring it. I don't think that it makes any difference really. DS asked me if I was 20 yesterday. I don't think I'd want to be 20 all over again, although I'd quite like the muscle tone.

Ilovelblue · 28/02/2015 22:37

Agree with that cherin and Nickel. Mine is 1 April and it's only when I am dealing with young apprentices or graduates in my company that I realise I have been working longer than they have been alive! Definitely not acting my age since the arrival of a certain actor on the scene last autumn!

cjwoofwoof · 28/02/2015 23:23

Aaah! jen so glad CJ is satisfying satisfactory and holding his end up to brighten your weekend. He's such a keen and eager soldier. Looking forward to some autobiographical QS in your next chapter so I can compare output and make sure you haven't got a bigger portion of CJs scones than I got on Valentine's Day Grin

Richtea19 · 28/02/2015 23:42

Happy belated birthday cherin x

nickel thanks to your picture I now want scones with Jam and cream on top, although just back from 50 Shades of Grey and might gonna need a whole lot more..... Having heard a whole bunch of mixed reports, I actuallu enjoyed it! Once I got over JD dodge American accent (hint of Irish) and her constant lip biting (something I might adopt) it was actually rather good. I had read the first book but had completly forgotton any story. He is very HOT and I hadn't realised what lovely curls he has, very similar to our CJ. He had a fabulous body too and just enough was seen.

So if you like smut... (With the odd bum smack) .. Go and see it!

Ilovelblue · 01/03/2015 00:03

Richtea I felt the same way about Fifty Shades. I was a bit dubious really but enjoyed it more than I thought. Jamie Dornan is gorgeous though isn't he? Prefer him clean shaven than when he was on with Graham Norton. I did keep wondering what our BA would have been like in the role and the lip biting made me smile.

The friend I went with last night had heard that although JD had signed up for more than one film (I presume it depends on the success/popularity whether they go for books 2 and 3 or not), he now wants to pull out. Not sure if that's fact or just a rumour but I am sure BA could step in. Would I want to see him in that sort of sadistic part though? It is a bit strange to get your head round.

icemistOBE · 01/03/2015 07:56

Morning

orphan · 01/03/2015 09:24

Happy belated birthday cherin! Sounds like you had a lovely day. What comedy did you see? I think BA could probably do comedy. He's got a twinkle in his eye that suggests he likes a good laugh in real life.

One of my presents is tickets to see High Society at the Old Vic later this year. BA would have been great in that: good singer and could fill out a tux.

Fully agree with those who said they don't feel their age. My actual age and the age I feel in my head just don't tally! Had a wonderful meal last night and need to brace myself for two more outings this week with various sets of friends.

If it's true, I wonder why JD wants to pull out (not a euphemism!)?

Richtea19 · 01/03/2015 10:17

How lovely orphan to go and see High Society, one of favourite films, I just adored Grace Kelly.

I too never feel my age, it's just when I look in the mirror or get up in morning after a gym session and the old bones are a bit creeky!

I was out last night with the girls I work with, all a mix of ages but some younger. I had a typical "me-RichTea moment" we were talking about what extra tasks we have been given to do ontop of our normal reception role. One girl said she was in charge of organising cards and collections for staff, which was when I shouted out, "I've got Chlamydia" (I work at a doctors) I wanted to say it's better than being given notice boards.. However I said it a bit loud and the people around us gave us a wide berth! Talk about initiation into knowing your new work collegues!

Off to Hever Castle today, it's a beautiful sunny morning so I hope we can walk around the grounds before heading in to the house. I will be thinking of KA holding his goblet. I might even get a few pictures of robes worn!! We had our wedding there 17 years ago so it will be lovely to revisit.

Onlygirljen · 01/03/2015 10:36

Morning all. Happy belated birthday cherin, and hope orphan enjoyed her day yesterday (and that the suit held out ok).

I quite want to see fifty shades now. I've heard such a mix of reviews now that I need to judge for myself. It would be a shame (in so many contexts) for JD to pull out.

And richtea, you really should get some sort of antibiotic for that Grin

Onlygirljen · 01/03/2015 10:42

Oh and on the age topic. I had my 30th last year. Still feel as though I'm 19 in my head, but unfortunately body parts have degenerated well past that, and I genuinely feel older than my years. Think it's probably because I had my first kid pretty young, therefore cut straight to middle age when I should be out partying like the majority of my friends. It really is just a number.

icemistOBE · 01/03/2015 10:47

Another great chapter Jen

OP posts:
Richtea19 · 01/03/2015 10:49

jen ditto about body parts! In the film last night the actress that played Anna had an amazing body. Not skinny but just perfect, little icebergs perfectly plump. I know that they can airbrush and do other techno stuff on films, but her skin with tight and not a stretch mark or blotch/blemish in sight! Once you have had children, nothing is the same.... Elasticity has gone, and the whole lack of moisture! Good job I still feel young in my nut!

Richtea19 · 01/03/2015 10:50

Ohh goodie, I hadn't realised there was a FF update :)

Onlygirljen · 01/03/2015 10:57

Thanks ice Smile. Will probably be a few days for the next, it's in my head but not on paper yet..

orphan · 01/03/2015 10:59

richtea laughed out loud at your chlamydia confession!!Grin

onlygirl just read your update. Omg - such a roller coaster. I don't care if your family have to forage, scavenge and fend for themselves - I need the next chapter!!
Oh, and I feel really old now you've said you're only 30...Grin

As for 50 shades, I'm now a bit cheesed off as a friend went to see it with some of her work mates (apparently coerced..) and said she thought I wouldn't be interested (which to be fair I wasn't until all your favourable reviews!) and my other friends claim disinterest. Might need to advertise for someone to go with!

KeziaOAP · 01/03/2015 11:00

jen another fantastic chapter good read for a Sunday morning Wink

I read in yesterday's paper JD wants to pull out, partly his wife, the reviews and it would appear the producer/director(?) has had a bit of a bust up with the author and doesn't want to do a sequel.
