As someone else said, the last one was a wasted opportunity.

I would like to give tickets to:

Simon
Chesney & girlfriend
Faye
All the Windasses
Tracey-Luv
Michelle
Sawphie
Owen
Kal and all his family

Plenty more seats available, feel free to add some more passengers!

Yes, it is vacant. That's where Faye planned to have her huge baby.

AgathaChristie01 · 14/04/2015 11:23

Very unlikely Owen would set up a new life in Aberdeen when he has Izzy living as a single parent with his grandson in Weatherfield! He could have lived in another part of Manchester and never bumped into Anna day to day.

Yes, and if I remember rightly, he was the one objecting a lot to Katy taking Joseph away. Now, I know she was going abroad somewhere, but it seems when people leave this one tiny area of Manchester, they can never return, whether they are a mile away or thousands of miles Grin.
I did feel sorry for Owen, I know it's just yet another badly done exit storyline, on the part of the scriptwriters, but he played it well.

I didn't watch the second half last night. Sarah and Callum, give me a break! Anyone remember Jez Quigley, now HE was a gangster...as far removed from the unconvincing 'bad lad' Callum as chalk and cheese.

SymphonyofShadows · 14/04/2015 11:44

If it is true that the scriptwriters read these threads then can I just say this: Stop bringing back rubbish old characters to replace rubbish new ones. There is a reason they were written out last time.

Sarah getting the sack was beyond lame. The Sarah and Bethany borefest may actually be the thing that makes me stop watching. I was already close with the ill-considered Faye baby storyline.

Songlark · 14/04/2015 11:48

I didn't watch last night, I'd seen a preview of Sarah and Callum. Couldn't take it.
Message to scriptwriters if you read this.
"No you're ruining the programme with your stupid scripts and very predictable boring story lines. Give more air time to the ones who can actually act and put back the humour, which is what Coronation St has always been good at."
I've watched Corrie for years but it's just rubbish lately, bad acting, bad scripts and too many strong story lines for bad actors.
Rant over.

AgathaChristie01 · 14/04/2015 11:49

+1, Symphony.

eddiemairswife · 14/04/2015 12:41

Just read next week's spoilers on Digital Spy. Watch out for a ridiculous story-line involving David, Callum and Andy.

AgathaChristie01 · 14/04/2015 13:03

Yes, I saw the previews. Corrie has lost it's way, for sure.

Listmaker · 14/04/2015 13:45

So Carla is going back to Connor - surely that isn't even her maiden name - that's the name of her first husband who cheated on her with Leanne when she was a prostitute - right?! Amazed she wants to cling to that name!

And yes this whole thing with Andy/Gavin and Callum etc is getting right on my nerves!

squoosh · 14/04/2015 14:13

Anyone remember Jez Quigley, now HE was a gangster...as far removed from the unconvincing 'bad lad' Callum as chalk and cheese.

Oh yes, he was properly menacing!

squoosh · 14/04/2015 14:13

But Callum is prettier..........

AgathaChristie01 · 14/04/2015 16:08
Grin As far as I remember, he tried to kill Steve in hospital, at one stage. Those were th days on Corrie, proper acting, interesting storylines.
Housemum · 14/04/2015 17:06

Alan Bradley and Richard Hillman - proper evil there too! I remember when Richard killed what's-her-name, Ashley's wife. Creepy and violent. It's just a bit whiney at the moment, Faye/Anna/Sally/Liz/Tracey - their voices merge into one sound like a drowning cat, just whining all the time.

squoosh · 14/04/2015 17:07

Don Brennan went pleasingly evil too. But he had a lot to contend with (marriage to Ivy) so who can blame him!

ProfYaffle · 14/04/2015 17:27

I loved Jez Quigley! Didn't Jim kill him? Was that how Jim ended up in prison at one stage? (one of the many times!) I seem to remember his final scene was him slumped, cross eyed, over Steve's bed.

squoosh · 14/04/2015 17:29

The actor who played Jez married the actor who played Gina the barmaid. How I remember this crap I'll never know!

Southeastdweller · 14/04/2015 18:38

Just read the spoilers for the next stages in the endless Gavin/Callum/Gail/Michael saga. I agree with the comments last week about the Gail character being 'dumb-downed'.

ArcangelaTarabotti · 14/04/2015 18:55

yes the Jez Quigley he was proper bad Grin I think Corrie ought to stick to those gentle comedic stories that actually derive from the characters slowly crafted by good actors and so properly acted instead of the formulaic affairs/weddings. The allotment wars and Roy/Kal'sDad rivalry was more like the stuff they do best.

ProfYaffle · 14/04/2015 19:00

I was right !

AgathaChristie01 · 14/04/2015 20:15

Those were the days ^^. Now it's just rubbishy stuff.
Why would David who was an absolute psycho at times, in the past, allow himself to be pushed around by the likes of Callum. Nonsense.

Cherrypie32 · 14/04/2015 20:49

Tyrone's ex missus was las properly evil character - she was proper menacing

Southeastdweller · 15/04/2015 07:34

A fire is going to happen next month at Victoria Court. Nick and Carla live there and I hope it spreads to kill off some of the deadwood listed on this thread several times Wink

millimat · 15/04/2015 08:07

Nope I bet it will just force nick and Carla tho have to flat share for a while, then reveal their undying love for each other!

ClaudiaNaughton · 15/04/2015 10:27

I loved the evil Duckworth son,Tommy? trying to sell his baby. Not sure he'd have sat back and let Tyrone "inherit" that house without a fight.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 15/04/2015 10:37

I liked Terry Duckworth too, he was a proper nasty bit of work. Charlie Stubbs was pretty nasty as well.

AgathaChristie01 · 15/04/2015 11:00

Just thinking of the time Vera and Jack discovered that Terry had basically sold the child, and Vera's grief, and Jack's anger at Terry. Truly moving stuff, with brilliant acting. Nothing like what goes on now, in other words.
