As someone else said, the last one was a wasted opportunity.

I would like to give tickets to:

Simon
Chesney & girlfriend
Faye
All the Windasses
Tracey-Luv
Michelle
Sawphie
Owen
Kal and all his family

Plenty more seats available, feel free to add some more passengers!

i was hoping when she knocked Gail's door and said 'remember me?' Gail would have said 'no' so she could explain.

woodhill · 22/03/2015 16:45

also I'm surprised Andy and Gail didn't go to Gavin's flat to see if any of the cash was still there. didn't know Gavin had a car, thought he was leaving for Thailand. all very silly

eddiemairswife · 22/03/2015 17:34

I think Michael contacted Auntie Barbara when he was looking to trace his family.

millimat · 22/03/2015 17:43

Yes I'd thought that Andy and Gail would have tried to claim their money back.

qazxc · 22/03/2015 22:06

I was a bit Confused at Bethany saying her dad was a waste of space, wasn't he very young and died in a car crash? I seem to remember the parents reappearing on the scene and being a nuisance.
The accent does make sense though as she would have been speaking Italian in everyday life and at school, mostly speaking English with her mum. I grew up in France (French dad, English mum) and speak English with an English accent.

desperatehousewife21 · 23/03/2015 06:47

Id of liked her to look a bit more like she'd grown up in Milan not down the road.

thenewbrunette · 23/03/2015 12:10

I had forgotten all the stuff about the money with Gavin. Yes, surely they would have tried to get it back. Also has the fake mugging/stealing Nick's takings been completely forgotten? Wouldn't police have looked at cctv by now?

I don't have so much of a problem with Bethany's accent in general. It is iust when she said Grazie that I thought she would have said it with an Italian accent, it being an Italian word and all!

I am also going to go out on a limb and say I think the fact she clearly looks older than 14 is also ok as many girls in real life when dressed up and covered in make up csn look years older than their age, and had she looked 14 she wouldn't have been mistaken for 18 by Michelle in the Rovers.

CharityD · 23/03/2015 13:27

Yes, the fake mugging of fake Gavin seemed to be forgotten. I'm not sure if Gail even said when she found out about fake Gavin, 'oh so that was what that was about'...
Or are they going to build it up into another boring storyline, Gail finds out, Nick finds out... Yawn. In fact, Nick seemed totally unfazed at the whole thing.

I read somewhere that nobody cops Faye's pregnancy until she goes into labour, which I think is due to happen shortly.

eddiemairswife · 23/03/2015 14:30

Yes, it all kicks off with Faye next week. No Corrie this Friday (football), but an episode on Sunday. I bet Faye will suddenly have an agonising pain and give birth 5mins later.

MairyHinge · 23/03/2015 15:31

I'm really struggling with Corrie at the mo,
Gavin/ Andy...wtf? Why wouldn't gail just tell michael the truth because she's getting deeper and deeper into this shit pot, and it can't end well.
Whatshername ( Andy/ Gavin girlfriend), she has ONE expression, ( blank, usually), no matter what's happening, shock Shock, fear Shock love Shock fun Shock, can't bloody stand her.
The windass crew...just, bizarre.
It seems they think of a story, run with it, then get bored so it fizzles out.
Chesneys girlfriend? How fucking long is she going to be bed ridden? Fgs.
And I thought it was meant to be a death crash? No one died.
Chesney is boring, his girlfriends as dull as ditch water, where's fizz? Where's cilla? Why haven't they written in something to mark Anne kirkbride dieing, something where we mark dierdres passing?

Am hoping Faye buggers off with this kid she's having, and takes half the street with her.

Bring back les battersby!!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 23/03/2015 20:51

Bethany is shit

thenewbrunette · 23/03/2015 20:53

Grin at Anna saying to Faye "you're just not yourself any more". No she is herself plus almost full term baby ...

AnneEyhtMeyer · 23/03/2015 21:11

I think the thing that most pisses me off with Corrie at the moment is that they have a big problem with crap characters and had set up the perfect opportunity to get rid of a lot at once and they not only didn't make use of that opportunity to its full, they didn't use it AT ALL.

They teased us with the possibility of ditching the dross, which makes it all the harder to see all the dullards still roaming the cobbles.

I really think the writers don't think things through before starting a storyline, so they end up dropping stuff mid-way through or pushing on flogging a dead horse.

Corrie is surviving on goodwill from loyal viewers at the moment. You certainly wouldn't start watching it based on current characters and storylines.

Oh and the Inland Revenue storyline is ridiculous. Are we meant to believe that after Steve messed up big time with the accounts at Street Cars Liz wouldn't have had a nosey at the Rovers' accounts?

No episodes on Friday due to football. Can't say I'll miss it in all honesty.

millimat · 23/03/2015 21:27

I've got to be fair and admit that Bethany does look very like Sarah Lou.
Still managed to watch tonight's episode on sky plus in ten minutes though...

CharityD · 23/03/2015 21:30

Corrie is surviving on goodwill from loyal viewers at the moment. You certainly wouldn't start watching it based on current characters and storylines.

So, so true, some evenings last week, I was watching, well half watching and it was the likes of Katy, Chesney, the Nazirs, and the chickens, and I was thinking is this what Corrie has come to.

Weak characters, and rubbish storylines.

Southeastdweller · 23/03/2015 21:51

Half-watching is what I do sometimes too at the moment. I've got back into Emmerdale and finding that much more enjoyable and compelling to watch.

But I like Jenny and i'm intrigued to find out more what she's been up to in the last twenty years. I just hope it's not a depressing story (like she killed a child)...we're already in for a cheery summer's viewing what with the confirmed stories of domestic violence and a 12 year old being a mother Hmm

CharityD · 23/03/2015 23:01

I love watching old episodes, I think now they are afraid to let characters carry story lines of just ordinary everyday living a la the good old days of Jack and Vera, Stan and Hilda, Ken and Deirdre, Mike and Alma, and in the Rovers, the likes of Bet, Betty, Raquel etc.

They instead try to chase ratings with absolute rubbish, and the strong characters are sadly becoming scarce.

CharityD · 23/03/2015 23:02

Just thinking tonight, the mini bus crash seems to be all but forgotten...

NoMontagues · 24/03/2015 02:49

Having been on here in ages but Bethany... ffs

MairyHinge · 24/03/2015 08:09

But, but, but....what about the 'death crash'? Why are they ignoring it, like pp said, it's all but forgotten apart from whatshername stuck in a hospital bed FOREVER, and for what??? Get her home and into rehabilitation ffs.

The actors are rubbish, the storylines are rubbish...
This pregnant Faye thing is probably going to be a fart in a colander, there'll be 10 minutes of anguish and hand wringing then they'll be all over the baby and Anna will probably adopt it.
just like she adopted Faye in the blink of an eye with what seemed like zero checks made

NuzzleandScratch · 24/03/2015 10:02

Has anyone mentioned Sinead's annoying Irish friend in the hospital? What exactly is the point of him? He just wheels in occasionally in his leather jacket, says something pointless and wheels out again!

eddiemairswife · 24/03/2015 11:28

Does anyone get confused about what time of day it is during the episodes? Yesterday we started of in Gail's house at breakfast - David and Max eating, Bethany in dressing-gown complaining about lack of milk, Lily conveniently forgotten. Later, Gail off to funeral - David telling her not to be late for mediation. All met up and argued outside house - I took that to be sometime in the afternoon. All except Gail went to pub, then Gail being given wine by Bethany who then went to bed, so late evening and Michael comes home with chips. Who collected the children, fed them and put them to bed?

CharityD · 24/03/2015 12:03

Yes, I didn't see much of last night's episodes, but I remember one recently where some were in the pub/ bistro, as if it was night time, and others seemed to be in a different time zone. I've forgotten the details now, but definitely have noticed that.
