Notebooks at the ready Grin We should have enough information at the end of the first episode to start cooking up some slightly implausible theories.

It's not different. It's a misrepresentation for dramatic purposes.

( will shut up now and let you all enjoy it) Smile

Onesipmore · 05/01/2015 22:15

Great minds Balloons!

redpriestandmozart · 05/01/2015 22:15

PeppermintPasty · 05/01/2015 22:16

Ooh, just come back to this. Thanks BOF.

Oh yes, the legal system has gone a bit haywire haha. Tosh, but should be enjoyable tosh.

fudgesmummy · 05/01/2015 22:16

They are married

Dancergirl · 05/01/2015 22:16

Having been totally hooked on The Missing, I am a bit disappointed with the first episode of Broadchurch. It's a lot of scary music but no substance. It just lacks something, hope it gets better.

NotPennysBoat · 05/01/2015 22:17

I thought it was a brilliant opening episode - I was gripped! I know nothing about the justice system so shall allow some artistic licence!

Balloonspaghetti · 05/01/2015 22:21

Whose the wonderful barrister lady that newspaper lady knew all about and how to get into her house?

Did she feature in series 1?

BOFster · 05/01/2015 22:23

Broadchurch Series One in four minutes for those who want to catch up.

Angelto5 · 05/01/2015 22:23

Exactly my thoughts balloonSmile

I think lee was having an affair with the 19 year old neighbour and Claire killed her & her sister.
Wonder if the police thought of digging up their lovely patio?Wink

I thought it was brilliant too.

Why is Joe meeting Ellie's son?

I'm beginning to wonder if Joe killed Daniel!

funambulist · 05/01/2015 22:27

I don't think that CPS barrister was in series 1. Is she supposed to be the local newspaper editor's sister?

Mark Latimer seems to be seeing Tom Miller secretly. Is he replacing his dead son with his best friend or plotting some awful revenge? Hopefully he's just seeing Tom because they both miss Danny.

The retired barrister was living in the village when Danny was last seen on his paper round outside her house by the postman, iirc.

SESthebrave · 05/01/2015 22:29

I'm hooked. Fantastic cast. Can't wait for ep2 Smile

Yep, that nice new patio was very suspicious Grin...

guineapiglet · 05/01/2015 22:32

Hi all... And for those of you who live where Broadchurch is filmed, I am yet again very Envy, what a stunning setting it is... And obviously always sunny!
I love love live Charlotte Ramplinf, some class actress for the series, what is she hiding I wonder, Joe told the vicar that everyone was hiding something.
Danny's dad disturbs me, he clearly has some kind of secret and his friendship with Ellie's son seems very dodgy.... Good to have it back after the dross that was Christmas TV.Grin

chicaguapa · 05/01/2015 22:32

I thought it was awful. Very hammed up and DT & OC were let down by the stage school acting from the supporting cast. All very ITV unfortunately.

How many shots did we need of the West Bay cliffs FFS?

funambulist · 05/01/2015 22:33

I do feel terribly sorry for Ellie. Not only has she had to cope with the fact that her husband murdered her son (Tom)'s best friend, but Tom won't live with her or speak to her, her friend Beth loathes her, she had had to leave both her home and her job and she's a single parent. Grim.
