Notebooks at the ready Grin We should have enough information at the end of the first episode to start cooking up some slightly implausible theories.

Love the angry retired qc storming up to the grave side

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 05/01/2015 22:00

Why are Danny's dad and Miller's son meeting up? It's not going to be some paedophile ring is it. Sad

Nerf · 05/01/2015 22:02

So cross I had to google exhumations. Apparently it usually takes place outside of normal hours, like 4 or 5 am.

Angelto5 · 05/01/2015 22:04

Completely hooked already.

Just hope I can remember what happened by the next episodeHmm

I am enjoying the two different story's/crimes.i think there will be more secrets to come out in due course.

Blu · 05/01/2015 22:04

So Claire was married to the DH of the Sandbrooke murderer (Alleged) but lied and gave him an alibi?

ethelb · 05/01/2015 22:04

Exhuming a body that had already been subject to an autopsy is not ever going to happen a) that quickly or b) without the family being informed, if at all.

I saw the last series but it was a while ago and I'm surprised they have done so little recap. Did they even point out the man in the dock was Olivia colemans husband? Or that she used to be good friends with the family of the deceased?

PumpkinRain · 05/01/2015 22:06

Was the neighbour at the end the mother of the newspaper reporter?

Enjoyed ths first episode.

Balloonspaghetti · 05/01/2015 22:06

Ok I can cope with some artistic liscence for dramatic effect, il get over that re the misrepresentation of the judicial system

... But WTAF is Danny's dad doing meeting up with Ellie's kid?

And does anyone else suspect that it will turn out to be Claire already who killed the girls?

The bluebell meant something to Dr who... You could see on his face it clicked and worried him.

Thanks BOFster, I really enjoyed it

Quenelle · 05/01/2015 22:07

I'm enjoying it but didn't see series one. Have been counting the Dr Who actors Grin

Will overlook the the inaccuracies ref the justice system for the sake of gripping drama.

Optimist1 · 05/01/2015 22:08

Very annoyed about the business of the choice of prosecution barrister appearing to be the choice of the victim's family! And surely the family would have to be consulted (and counselled) before an exhumation could take place?

In spite of these significan niggles, I'm hooked, and will be returning to this thread to participate in MNPD's investigations.

Brief rundown - boy, Danny Latimer, found murdered on the beach. Case investigated by David Tenant and Olivia Coleman who were the leading officers. Lots of suspects and cleverly woven story lines but, in the last episode we found out that Olivia Coleman's husband did it. She had no idea.

fuzzpig · 05/01/2015 22:09

And does anyone else suspect that it will turn out to be Claire already who killed the girls?

OMG that is genius

I was wondering how if she was at a friend's while Lee was supposedly killing the girls... surely the friend would've told the truth?! And how could 'my wife says I was with her' count as a 'watertight alibi'

aoife24 · 05/01/2015 22:10

Why have the Latimers appointed their own counsel when the Crown prosecutes in criminal cases? In Scotland private prosecutions are virtually unheard of and can only happen if the Crown refuses to prosecute and that has been challenged. I find it hard to believe it's different in England.

AWholeLottaNosy · 05/01/2015 22:12

But don't you think it's important that our criminal justice system is portrayed accurately? I mean, it doesn't take much research from the writers to work it out. Makes a mockery of the plot for me now as I just can't believe in the story any more. ( and, it does affect real victims of crime when they believe that this is how our system works)

Maybe it's just me.

Onesipmore · 05/01/2015 22:12

Clare looked very calm siping her mug of tea/ coffee whilst the olive were searching the neighbours garden

atoughyear · 05/01/2015 22:13

The Criminal bar are not going to come out of this well.

Balloonspaghetti · 05/01/2015 22:13

Claire was far too calm/unhinged for a woman knowing her next door neighbours garden was being dug up to find child bodies.

Lee on the other hand seemed to be reacting as one would... Smoking, trying not to look, sitting on edge etc

Balloonspaghetti · 05/01/2015 22:13

Sorry cross posted with onesipmore

Onesipmore · 05/01/2015 22:14

I mean whilst the police not the olive lol!
