Corrie thread - New thread for the New Year, time for another disaster?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 27/12/2014 17:51

New thread in time for the new year - hopefully this year will see the back of some awful characters.

I would personally like to see the following rounded up and shoved in a deep hole in the Red Rec:

Izzy
Anna
Owen
Gary
Michelle
Tracey-Luv
Gavin
Faye
Yasmeen and her entire extended family
The Community Centre
Kylie
Todd
Steph

That'll do for starters.

loving the Wham Rap.

is Beth's mum our Renee from Brookside?

millimat · 07/01/2015 22:41

Isn't she Doreen corkhill?

millimat · 07/01/2015 22:42

Who is sineads mum? Recognise her but can't think where from.

Southeastdweller · 07/01/2015 22:45

The actress who plays Sinead's mum also played Theresa's mum in Hollyoaks.

hildasmuriel · 08/01/2015 08:02

I thought Michelle would have someone's eye out with that outfit she had on.

I really felt for Kirk tonight. He is always the butt of jokes but is always kind. Even I felt mean for laughing at him saying he sounds like Goofy but not American but, for once, the contrived will they, won't they felt genuine. Of course Kirk would feel insecure after hearing himself ridiculed like that.

I do like the 3 relatives though. There is definitely room for sharp tongued matriarchs on the Street.

Looking forward to the wedding, hope it is a happy event.

Theshedofalfredogarcia · 08/01/2015 08:43

Yes ,loved the Wham rap ,am now feeling nostalgic for the 80s Shock

Eileen looks nice with her hair up

Jill2015 · 08/01/2015 09:21

Jazz hands Andrea reproving Eileen for cutting off the call to the customer really annoyed me. Angry
Does she not have a job of her own to go to, or has she taken over running Street Cars. Confused
Please scriptwriters, make her go away. Soon.

Jill2015 · 08/01/2015 09:28

Yes, poor Kirky. It was horrible that he heard the three women sneering about him. They do make me laugh though, I love the way they troop into the house, and make themselves at home.
Ches annoys me because he should be renamed Whiney, in my opinion, but, for once, he said and did the right thing, by following Kirk, and being so kind.
I think the wedding will be fun.

When did Michelle become so close to Sean? I thought it was strange that she would be confiding in him, when up to now, I've never noticed them being friends.

LineRunner · 08/01/2015 10:08

Sheila Grant in Brookside had baby Claire in her 40s.

squoosh · 08/01/2015 10:44

Good grief, for someone feeling so timid about her date Michelle's dress certainly didn't reflect that!

squoosh · 08/01/2015 10:45

90% of the dress seemed to be made of 10 denier tights.

eddiemairswife · 08/01/2015 11:43

What is Andrea's job? She is a useless character who seems to serve no purpose whatsoever.

theliverpoolone · 08/01/2015 13:01

Andrea's meant to work in a hotel I think. When she was still with her husband, that was her cover when seeing Lloyd - "late shift at the hotel" Wink

Southeastdweller · 08/01/2015 13:54

Andrea is a really unpleasant character - I hated how she was with her husband when she was breaking up with her.

It was nice to see Tracey enjoy herself last night and I like that she's got a friend on the street (Beth).

hildasmuriel · 08/01/2015 16:35

squoosh so right about the tights dress. The other colour available is American Tan (sold on the Street as Tina Tan).

Was it just our house where all adults over the age of 30 joined in the Wham Rap?

EachandEveryone · 08/01/2015 17:16

I was thinking exactly the same thing. I don't know anyone in their twenties that would know or even care about those cheesy 80's songs.

I'm 47 and knew the words

ProfYaffle · 08/01/2015 17:40

When Michelle took her jacket off in the Bistro me the dc were like Shock Shock Shock

And yy to the Wham Rap, me and the dc were like Grin Hmm Hmm

AnneEyhtMeyer · 08/01/2015 18:35

How could I forget Sheila Grant!

Love "Tina Tan" tights, hilda. Grin

What has Michelle's date been in previously?

KenDoddsDadsDog · 08/01/2015 21:22

Holly oaks and Casualty

Jill2015 · 09/01/2015 12:22

I laughed when Sally mentioned 'christening' the couch, then tried to explain, to the vicar, that she didn't mean in the religious sense Grin.
Am looking forward to more disasters when the next 'designer' couch arrives. She and Tim are an inspired comedy pairing in Corrie. I think Sally is thoroughly enjoying the comedy side of her role. I guess it's a change from the more serious (even dreary) times, cooking tea for Kev, and sending the girls upstairs to wash their hands. Grin

olbas · 09/01/2015 19:36

Beth looks like a bog dog!

squoosh · 09/01/2015 19:42

Love Sally and Tim as Dollar!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 09/01/2015 19:42

Dollar ! Brilliant
