Devastated. Poor girl. Rip deirdre. So shocked.

Corrie will not be the same without Deirdre. And so many great storylines over the year.

Another here who grew up with Deirdre. I can't believe it. So sad.

I remember being at a West Brom home game when she was deciding whether to stay with Ken to go to Mike - her decision was flashed up on the screen to all of the crowd - to a great cheer!

I'm gutted. I was really looking forward to Dierdre coming back, she was fab and will be really missed.

I hadn't watched Corrie for months but watched tonight and came looking for a Corrie thread but got distracted by FB and saw the news. Very sad. Can't believe she was only 60 though. She seems to have been in it as long as I remember and I'm 50.

I'm so old I remember Elsie Tanner, Mrs Sharples and Minnie Caldwell!

I wonder how they wil write her out.

I just can't believe it. She was one of my absolute favourites.

Just seen the news about Anne Kirkbride. Can't believe it, it's so sad! Deirdre was one of my favourites gutted!

I've been out this evening and only just heard the news, what a shock. RIP Anne Kirkbride. I feel as though I've known her all my life.

I just can't believe it. You really would feel that you knew her.
My heart goes out to her family, and to all of those who worked with her all those years.

I've just woke up to the news - how awful. I've literally grown up watching Corrie, I'm only a few years older than Tracy and have watched the both of them my whole life. I can't quite believe it.

So sad. Heard this late last night and feel genuinely shocked. RIP

Very sad news

Just before the news broke I was going to post that the car crash scenes left me a bit cold but I thought the scenes in the pub were brilliant and just what the Street is all about and does best, scenes which we watch, laugh at and could imagine ourselves doing. Deirdre would have been brilliant in those scenes. So many awards she could have.
