Marking spot...

BeyondTheTreelights · 10/12/2014 14:25

I also liked the idea (here or on the other thread?) of syvlie being "queen bee", hence baptistes bees.

SomethingFunny · 10/12/2014 14:37

Is there any connection between Cleaning company or Romanian gang and Georges, Vincent, Ian and Alain that we know of?

OnlyLovers · 10/12/2014 14:38

Yes, good point; he went into some detail about keeping the males separate so they eat their way through the wall and accept her as their queen.

There is a LOT to tie up in one episode, though, isn't there?

Pinkje · 10/12/2014 14:44

We don't know yet what put Vincent back in prison, (or did I imagine that?).

limitedperiodonly · 10/12/2014 14:48

I like it but I found the Queen Bee conversation to be far too much like: 'Here is a plot device coming over the horizon.'

A bit like the conversation with Ziane's son when Baptiste, Emily and Tony begged him to meet Ziane. His summation of the whole Charmartin business rather than saying: 'No, I hate my dad. Fuck off', had a touch of the 1970s Charlie's Angels about it.

You know, that bit at the end when Charlie explains the whole plot through the intercom on Bosley's desk for people who are baffled by holes and the terminally baffled like Farrah Fawcett-Majors' character.

Surely there's someone else on this thread old enough to remember that? Grin

BOFster · 10/12/2014 14:57

There was a ridiculous number of missing children on that board. If they went missing at that rate, parents would probably have to get them tagged at birth.

mewkins · 10/12/2014 15:01

What's Charlies Angels??? Haha just kidding, it's the Cameron Diax film right??

Yes I think the writers have included loads of little references to keep us on our toes. So the w ueen bee can only be Sylvie I guess? What other females are there...Laurence? Ian's wife??? Emily?

rumbelina · 10/12/2014 15:04

Yes, what DID happen to put Vincent in prison? Malik asked Ziane if V had said anything to him when they were both in solitary. I wonder why V was in solitary - possibly for his protection also if it was child-related.

StrychnineStew · 10/12/2014 15:08

Possession of child abuse images.

limitedperiodonly · 10/12/2014 15:32

What's Charlies Angels??? Haha just kidding, it's the Cameron Diax film right??

I suspected people on here might be too young to remember it first time round. I can feel my vadge atrophying as we speak. It will happen to you one day mewkins. I take no pleasure in that. Actually, yes, I do Grin

Anyway, a fellow old bat may wake up from her nap at The Twilight Home For The Bewildered to back me up in my reverie of '70s telly.

rumbelina I'd expect that as a paedophile and a policeman, Vincent and Ziane would both be kept in the wing for vulnerable prisoners.

I suppose that after some years, Ziane made enough friends to integrate with the other prisoners.

After seeing AuntStella's gratuitous topless shot of the actor playing Ziane, I was disappointed to see him working out in the gym in a top.

But I guess the multiple stabbings on bare skin would have been too graphic.

I can link to AuntStella's pic if anyone missed it. It was very fine even though the actor does have a dodgy moustache in it.

BOFster · 10/12/2014 16:00

I think you better had now.

JudithMarie · 10/12/2014 16:08

Last moment due to loss of identity.

I think the writers are losing their nerve. Tony's transformation from murderous sociopath without a shred of empathy to weepy DH? The malocclusion, twitchy fists and rising GBH count were rather more convincing. Mark has had a makeover, too: from potential villain to the good guy who's about to lose his new love. Now, even Malik is protesting he's 'not a bad man', though he's about to get help Tony stay out of a (French?) jail.

Apparently, though, doing your best doesn't always cut it with the writers. Vincent ('I want to heal my mind') looked pretty rough this week, and I can't see him making it through to the final episode, unless in the throes of a death-bed confession.

The women have got off lightly in this whole thing. Butter wouldn't melt, but I'm remembering the track about wicked women - episode 2 perhaps?

limitedperiodonly · 10/12/2014 16:19

I couldn't find the original but here's another of Ziane.

His shorts are quite low and he's clutching a surfboard in a suggestive fashion.

And he's shaved.

All over.

Young man.

Fucking hell, I feel a hot flush coming on.

BOFster · 10/12/2014 16:48

Goodness me, he looks like a teenager. Or a fledgling baby bird. I prefer the grittier grown up version. Still, one mustn't complain.

mewkins · 10/12/2014 16:49

Judith yes they were all a lot more likeable in this episode. But I somehow think that that will mean that Ollie is dead. It can't all be happy endings. Not sure if Tony and Emily will get back together but at least there is hope of them both moving on.

Fiderer · 10/12/2014 16:57

I thought Charlie's Angels v glam when I was young. I liked Sabrina with her hair and smoky voice.

As for The Missing: Malik's "I know you killed Ian Garrett" was based on that hacked call could easily be explained by Tony. That he'd suspected he was a paedophile, fought with him and Ian got scared of the truth coming out so disappeared. V thin after all the build-up.

AuntieStella · 10/12/2014 17:10

The oiled, topless shot is on this thread at Mon 08-Dec-14 16:58:58.

The one repeated here is the one I put on thread 2. It's quite easy to find pix of déshabillé French actors, especially those who have done arty films.

limitedperiodonly · 10/12/2014 17:19

I don't like that one at all.

His hair. The relative large size of his thighs vis-a-vis his calves and upper body.

And that Big Ben in the background?

The French are obsessed.

BOFster · 10/12/2014 17:19

He's sitting on a British flag in front of Big Ben Grin. I'd watch that film.

SirVixofVixHall · 10/12/2014 17:28

I am another old gimmer who understands the Charlie's Angels ref. I liked brainy Sabrina best...
Am transfixed by the thread but have no gripping clues to add. Am just trying to work out how it will all be tied up in one episode. I don't want Babtiste to be a baddy, his face is too kind! Think JN has been brilliant in this, very convincing, not sure about his wife, what with all the fillers and botox she seems unable to express much emotion.

limitedperiodonly · 10/12/2014 17:38

I identified with brainy Sabrina but I really wanted to be Jill.

DH told me he fantasised about the other one

Moln · 10/12/2014 17:42

Molly wouldn't be on that poster would she, she went missing in England. I still looked though.

OneStepCloser · 10/12/2014 18:28

Just a thought, Mark now knows that Tony killed Ian, so knows what Tony is capable of so maybe he switched the evidence knowing that Tony may go completely of and kill Sylvie, leaving Emily away forever from Tony, and Ollies murder solved so that he can have her back, I think hes quite controlling of her.

OttiliaVonBCup · 10/12/2014 18:48

It's all looking for zebras.

The answer will be simple and obvious.
