I think he's a baddun! Have ruled out Emily from my suspects but still think Mark and Greg are responsible.

But if Mark switched the evidence, where did he get the AA medal from? And whose blood is on it? He doesn't know the hoteliers, after all.

And yes he is a bit slimy, coming on to Emily in the hotel room, but that hardly makes him a child abductor/ murderer!

How would Mark know about the significance of the sobriety medals though? He didnt have 'the medal talk' from Sylvie so how would he know that it was a good thing to swap?
I dont think he did swap it- they didnt show it in that scene to make for a more dramatic episode ending. Also Malik wouldnt have sent an obvious thing (like id) to forensics...
Dont get me wrong-I am still suspicious of him

That's a good point about Mark, he opened the bag and looked inside when he was with Malik but we didn't see. Why? Possibly so he could switch it. Where would have gotten a sobriety medal from? Why would whatever had been found need to be sent for tests? And what was is that was found? I thought photo of James, the intended abductee but that wouldn't have fitted into Ziane's hand like the sobriety medal would.

And why was Mark focusing on Ian Garret and Tony having done it when he was with Malik? I think he is going to land Tony in the shit. Also I think Malik just said it was Ian Garret who done it to make Tony talk and tell his side like he said on the phone to him.

But she does say she carries the coin, to remind her how proud she was of him.

Oh yes, it may be Mark. I wanted him to open the envelope in front of Malik but if he already knew it was his ID then he wouldn't have to open it. BUT where did Mark get that coin from?? Didn't Sylvie show Tony/give him the coin, it would never have got to Mark then would it?

And I just reran a scene with Mark and Malik. When he sidles up to him in taxi rank at st Pancras. I think that's supposed to be present day. He says ' tony was cleared of that, but thanks to you and evidence you obtained illegally, he'll always have that over him'
